Alright, I have the Slaanesh stuff from the Shadows and pain box, should I gear it to a seeker list? Or are the old hellstriders not the best

Phoenicium 1k Army
Hey all! Decided to finally get into Cities of Digmar, and I tried making a smaller list.
What do you think?
City: Phoenicium
1000 points
1x Anointed on Flamespyre Phoenix
Command ability: One with Ice and Fire
Spell: Amber Mist
Artifact: Amber Armor10x Phoenix Guard
10x Phoenix guard10x flagellants
10x flagellants
10x Irondrakes
1x GyrocopterEssentially, I want the Flagellants to die to buff the other units, with a gyrocopter running up for objectives.
What do you think?

It's got some good stuff in it. You get a Tyrant, Butcher, 20 Gnoblars and 4 Ironguts. You won't need another tyrant and most likely wont need more gnoblars. You'll need more Gluttons and/or Belchers in the future, but it's nice that you have some to start with.
The Beastclaw Start Collecting gives a good amount, a few of those will give you a lot. Gluttons are good, Butchers/Slaughtermasters are great, Ironguts are awesome, Stonehorns are amazing.
Yeah! The box didn’t come with the heroes, but it came with everything else so it was a fairly good deal with my local shop still have it. Would getting some kitties be better than getting more gnoblars? Just for screening and what not
-
So, I have an old Ogre kingdoms box and I found that I can make a perfect 1000 list if I just add heros. Would this be a decent starting point?
-1 Tyrant
-1 Butcher
-6 Gluttons
-4 Ironguts
-4 leadbelchers
-20 Gnoblars
-
For butchers, do you prefer cleavers or tenderisers?

Mollog doesn’t really fit here, but I am in two minds about whether Zarbag’s gits is a bargain for a cheap unit (3 units!) with a wizard and a bit of utility, or just a waste of points.
I honestly think Zarbag doesn't come into use until a 2k army. He is a hefty point sink for a fairly squishy wizard. Maybe look into a second fungoid? (Do the CP abilities stack?) or a couple madcap to spread the magic love around the field. Squig lure and hand of mork would really help with the list.
Also, don't forget scuttletide if you can afford it pointwise. Its a super good blocking spell for its cost.

Hello all. Going to be starting a Gloomspite army soon using the contents of Looncurse as a starting point. Does anyone have recommendations as to where to go from there?
You can never go wrong with a squad of 20-40 stabbas, to hold objectives. Dont forget the army has native support of the unit due to the loonshrine

Hey! Finished updating my first 1k squig list to be a bit more wellrounded!
Would squigs stand a chance at being competitive?

At 1k if you have a Loonboss on mangler and 10 bounderz I think you’ll be very happy with the core of your list and be able to punch through most things.
Fill out the other 500 points how you see fit. Remember AOS is an objective based game. You can have the best list possible and kill everything but still lose if you forget the goals of each battleplan.
Thats why the rest of my list will be 15 hoppers, 10 squigs, and a fungoid shaman. I figured a durable shaman with command point potential would be good, and the hoppers could grab objectives/support the mangler. The squigs were mainly to hold on objective, but Im not sure if I need more than ten of them for them to last.

Good Points all around! Ill definitely be rethinking my list, thought my purchases will probably be the same. It just changes how many squig calvary units I build of each variety.
For 1000 points, I'm guessing the mangler and bounderz will be more than enough damage to pound through lists like Stormcast or maggotkin?
The only other thing I want to try is the gobbopalooza, but I've heard mixed things on that

Doppelganger Cloak from malign sorcery. Control F it here to learn about it if you do not own the book. I don't think sharing this link is against any forum rules since it is not a pdf of the book.

Can these be used in matched play?

Which artefact is the cloak? or is it a non battletome artefact

I honestly can't tell you that. In the end this is your decision to make based upon the type of army you want to play.
I agree. I think that while I like the solid nature of bounderz, and will probably build 20-30 of them, I like hoppers as battleline with their speed and damage potential. Im thinking of maybe building them in a hoard style? Though I think min sized units hold value of their own.
A blob of stabbas will probably be necessary just due to having a solid blob that cant be moved, but some magic for board denial. Also curious, do you think spiderfang and squigs have the potential to exist in the same list? The speed, fly, and damage potential together seem intriguing.

Despite looking similar on the surface the two units are quite different and fill different roles. That was simply my point earlier. When evaluating these units I don’t think it is good to mix up the advantages of the units as it will lead to some disappointment. Hoppers are not a devastating charge unit and lack the armor for protracted combat. Boingrots lack the high speed of hoppers and the ability to inflict damage outside of the combat phase.
So, for my list above, do I need more boingrots? I tried to include a significant amount of hoppers for objectives and flanking, but I dont know if that pales in comparison when looking at the damage output of the bounders.

Have you built them yet? I'd make all the Squig Hoppers into Boingrot Bounders and then fill the battleline with Squig Herds: would look like this using those models. Its a great start to a full 2k squig list imo.
Allegiance: Gloomspite Gitz
Leaders
Loonboss on Mangler Squigs (300)
- General
Fungoid Cave-Shaman (90)
Battleline
6 x Squig Herd (70)
6 x Squig Herd (70)
Units
15 x Boingrot Bounderz (300)
10 x Boingrot Bounderz (200)
Total: 1030 / 2000
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 90Are Hoppers really that bad? Their insane speed capability makes them seem like they'd do okay. Are they too fragile? Or do they need to be in massive hordes.
Also, would endless spells hold any merit in the full 2000 pt. list? The mushroom looks tempting for area denial. and I know cogs can be popular
-
Hey! Starting the army, threw together this list, and hope it looks ok!
Fungoid Cave-Shaman : Squig Lure
Loonboss on Mangler Squigs (General):
- Fight Another Day,
-Loonstone Talisman
Squig Herd x10
Squig Hoppers x10
Squig Hoppers x5
Boingrot Bounders x10
Hoping it could be the start of something competitive. I was thinking I could make a Squig/Spider list, thought I've heard those can be tricky.
