So the foot soldier warrior guys I heard somewhere they had head options that didnt have noses, is that confirmed? I know its kind of silly but having your basic skeleton looking guys with noses kills it for me.

Yeah we've already seen pictures. They look slightly better but not good enough for my taste.

That 1" difference has been amplified in everyone's minds; I've always thought this, back to oldhammer days.  Yes, 4" is slower than 5".  No, 5" will not run circles around 4".   It's often the difference between a 7+ and an 8+ to charge.  Sure, you'd rather have the 7+, but that difference alone isn't enough to make the slower one completely useless.

It's not really fair to compare to oldhammer though. Back then a few milimeters difference at positioning those rank&file units could make or break the game for you because it means the opponent may or may not charge you in the flank and break your unit. Also the fact that marching/running and charging were straightout twice your movement value instead of just rolling dice. ^^

  3. I was going for red as well, simply because my old Tomb Kings used to be red. So basically nostalgia reasons. ^^

Good question on the bone colour though. My Slaanesh are already an oily black, so I'm hesitating painting these with black bones. I think I'll need to do some test models before I can decide on one thing or another.

So I was a bit bored at work and decided to use my rather poor photoshop skills to do a mockup of what I'm probably ending up doing once I get my hands on the models.

    Basically this

is going to turn into this

No spinous process all over the body, no tail, no weird faces and no silly weapon holding with two arms on the same side.

@Panzer that is entirely wrong, read my posts from above again I edited it.

also you are not taking into account the scale and the stilisation of the Miniatures, which I do since it is my job. (Look at Halberds and their size across the entire GW range).

This is too much Dunning-Krueger Dir one day, think what you will. I don‘t care.

I don't know what your job is, but I can tell that you are clearly wrong in this case. And you obviously do care. ^^

So a circle is a triangle. Who needs descriptivism 🤷🏼‍♂️, Moons are planets and two-Blades straight swords are Sabres. A bow is a crossbow, a short ow is a longbow. a recurve bow is a stick.

This is not about historical accuracy, this is using the wrong description for an object.

A halberd for the bone dudes would need to be as tall as they are.

That‘s an axe - though GW wishes it would be a halberd because a halberd would not look as silly as that warped axe.

Okay okay so first of all, there was no need to post it three times. :P

Then, nowhere it says a Halberd has to be as tall as the one who's wielding it. Sources usually give us a length 1.5-1.8 meters (which is btw. even shorter than many people are). Of course with some exceptions as always.
An axe, as you claim it is, is about the length of the arm for battle purposes. The shaft alone of here is longer than their arms.

Last but not least, the Halberds (yes they are) the four-armed guys are wielding ARE about as tall as they are (the line is copy pasted and just moved from the Halberd to the body. It's the exact same length):

And as I've already said before, the halberd doesn't even have to have the same proportional length for these guys. As long as they can fight opponents without the opponents being able to reach them it's doing its job as halberd.

    *reads historical accuracy rant.. *

I just hate they they hold it with 2 hands on the same side, man

I'm with you on that and I'm definitely going to change that regardless of how much work it might be. I also hope to find some proper skulls in the right size to replace their heads with lol

  9. There's simply no need for Halberds to be as long for these guys as they would be for regular humans. The point is to be a threat while keeping the enemy far enough away so he can't hurt you (lets ignore that these kinds of weapons are best use in formations for now). Just because this guy is pretty tall it doesn't increase the enemys reach. ^^

Oh; and is anyone else not liking the "4th edition tyranid hive guard" 2 arms on the same side of the body holding the weapons and shields look!? Or am I alone in this

Yeah it's pretty dumb. I plan to remove the lower arm completely for the two-handed weapons.

Maybe it's the color scheme, or maybe it's just that the image I started with had one of the nose-less faces.  🤔

A combination of both I'd say. The colour scheme does a lot to make the model look creepy while the bone-y colour scheme GW uses just makes it look weird. I'd like to see how it would look with the nose-faces as well, though I doubt I'd ever like it more than the nose-less faces.

I'll probably do dark grey bone for the bodies, ghostly green trim, eyes, & teeth, green gems, dark green cloth, black with green highlights for the armor plates.  I slapped together a mockup that i mostly like:

With such a colour scheme the faces don't even look that bad anymore. I like it!

Punishment of Pain - Castigo de Dolor: Choose an enemy unit wholly within 18, on a 4+ subtract 1 to hit rolls until your next hero phase.
Punishment of Death - Castigo de Muerte: 1 mortal wound on a 2+ to an enemy unit within 36
Punishment of Ignorance - Castigo de Ignorancia: Choose an enemy Wizard within 36", on a 2+ subtract 1 to rolls for casting, shooting(?), and unbinding until your next hero phase.
Punishment of Lethargy - Castigo de Letargo: Choose a unit wholly within 18" and fully visible. Roll a die, on a 4+ that unit cannot run until your next hero phase, in addition they may only roll 1D6 to charge instead of 2D6 until your next hero phase.

Gotta love that he's just sitting back and handing out different punishments as if the enemy is just a bunch of plebs having an audience with the king. :D

"Que dejes de respirar!", literally "Stop breathing!", use in Shooting or Combat phase, he passes on his reroll 1's to wound vs Order/Destruction and reroll all wounds vs Chaos.

    Sorry, not sorry. :D
