Btw do you guys think it's worth going host of the everchosen without varanguard?

I think you can do that with big blobs of marauders who get battleshock immunity.

Don't see why would you pass up circle buff on varanguard but whatever.

I've only just noticed this with the new rules. I was making a list and got to my artefacts... The choices for Ravagers are absolute dogshit. Am I missing something here?

You are not wrong. Pretty much always pick the 18" aura.

This is the case when new nerfed realm artifacts are ironically better than what you get in the book.

To fill out the rest of the points, I was thinking of the possibility of  dropping 1 unit of Bloodreavers to add 2x5 Wrathmongers to power up the Blood Warriors and Karkadrak Lord, or drop the Wrath-Axe and be at 2k on the nose.

    Can't go wrong with mongers.

Someone remind me again what the argument is against Chaos Knights? These are easy buffs, and I want to build a Big Chungus®.

Pretty sure knights are now THE default chaos unit. I am talking about the 3x3/3/-1/1 profile ones.

Like compare them to our elite uhhh skullreapers, not even close. A case can be made for 9 juggers brick being better than 15 knights, but that's a very corner case, otherwise knights are better again.

Ironically chungus does not make sense in Std vs. a Demon prince but seems pretty good in Khorne especially in Goretide.

Ok, so now FAQs are out, still nothing for BoK. There's this weird printed chart in the GHb with stars in front of entries with no point changes compared to the last FAQ. Everybody else had point change, but not BoK ?

My question is : do any of you think that this could be a misprint ?

Maybe the "everything was in the perfect state" explanation should suffice, but i have doubts...
What do you think about this ?

Edit : btw there can be an Errata/Designers comments for the GHB this week

We already had 2 faqs with point adjustments. It's very likely GW thinks we are fine.

What do you think of them?

I'd rank them Thirsters > Archaon > mortals.

I'd drop stuff from thirsters (skulls and priest) and archaon (battalion, both priests, warriors, skulls) to take more reavers or mongers for objectives

with the current book how we deal with fyreslayers hearthguard , their out-phase combat, D2 weapons and FNP 4+?

Belakor can shut down big unit for a turn. Whispers lore spell can shut down a unit for a turn if it gets through all their negates.

You can teleport stuff behind their dudes and kill the heroes, just don't engage the hearthguard.

Varanguard in empty throne can pile in from 6" negating the strike first. Not like they will have damage to kill the hearthguard.

  8. Knights at 160 are very good. The question is why would anyone use other units now.

Don't like karkadrak over mounted lord or DP.

Rip marauder ponies and gaunt. Furies are probably strictly better choice than marauder ponies now.

I also think Varanguard in Empty throne host are a sleeper. They are your best "hero" deal in the book and the CP ability to deny scoring seems nuts.

I've been playing with the Anvil of Apotheosis in the GHB, and I had a question: is the roll to set up a Judgement of Khorne a prayer roll? The roll is called a Judgement roll on the warscroll cards, but I was curious if this still counted as a prayer, because one of the enhancements you can buy is a +1 to prayer rolls. And what about Blood Blessings? Just seeing if it might be worth it to make a cheaper slaughterpriest with a bonus to prayers--even though he wouldn't have the blood-fuelled prayers (but the attack prayer you get when you take the Priest keyword is D3 mortal wounds on a 3+ without the potential of backfiring).

One way to abuse Anvil is buying barebones priests/wizards. A priest will cost you 40pt, mounted priest 120 pt for following a cavalry unit (or 100pt if you want a 8" move priest on foot). The mounted commander guy is also good, he can give +1 save to crushers for a CP.

Another way is making a dude on a dragon with 2+ save and giving him ethereal artifact from Goretide. Costs as low as 250pts with basic weapons and you have 150pt reserve to make him better.

Hey guys, so with the advent of GW axing all the realm artefacts in lieu of the new system, what do you guys think is the best replacement for the Dimensional Blade on a Khorne marked Goretide General DP?

As far as offensive capabilities go, I found that Deathdealer, which gives one weapon -1 rend is statistically the best if you put it on his axe (only slightly better than it is on his claws, like within 1%).  I think the exploding 6's Aqshy artefact has potential, but the DP doesn't swing enough attacks with one weapon to make it worth it.

I think there are a lot of options now if you're not focusing on his offensive potential ( the Crimson Crown and Mark of the Slayer come to mind, at least for me)

Anyway, I would love to hear your guys' opinions on what artefact gives him the best offensive output, or which artefact you would use otherwise.

Look forward to hearing your answers.

+1 stat is 30% more damage, double hit on 6s is statistically a +1 stat.

-1 rend is roughly 30% more damage against 4+ and better against lower saves and rerolls.

If you want offensive output take -1 rend. I'd personally put it on claws, having both weapons with rend feels better, I assume it can be mathematically better against rerolls.

I would take the unmodified save or free CP ability since Goretide already gives you +1 damage. You may not need the free CP in Goretide since they don't spam CP abilities all that much.

    Thanks you very mutch !!!

What mark would you take ? Khorne? Nurgle?

Do you find the hero exalted worth it?

And last question (sorry ^^) the spears or sword on the knight of chaos?

Mark doesn't matter much as long as it's khorne/nurgle/slaanesh. I guess khorne hits a bit harder.

    Ensorcelled for knights.

Exalted is pretty bad but you need the aura bubble to go with warriors. Should be chaos lord, but I don't see how to do that without downgrading karkadrak to mounted lord.

For me the biggest loss is the amber glaive on the Rage. Makes me reconsider using Rage often and not wanting to take the battalion for the artifact.

Now that I think of it the Aqshy artifact that gives you 2 hits on 6s statistically functions as a +1 to hit. I guess I'll use it as a poor man's amber glaive.

    Hello guys,

I saw the possible leaks on STD (point drop on chaos warrior/knight and lord on karadrak)

I would have liked to know your opinion on a list that I want to build. It would be for 2vs2 or 1vs1 games at 1k.

So what would you play at 1000 points including chaos knight, warriors and a lord on karadrak to make it as competitive as possible?

Which legions ? Which allegence ?

    Thanks you

    2x5 knights

    1x karkadrak

    15x warriors

    1x exalted

    Ravagers, summon marauders

  14. I want to clarify two things:

    1. Blue scribes in Tzeentch book say they can learn any spell cast near them on 4+.
Will they learn and be able to cast the std lore spells from allegiance? (i.e. having an std keyword isn't needed to cast the spell if you steal it) I assume yes.

    2. Kairos in Tzeentch book says he knows all spells wizards near him have on their warscrolls.
Will he get lore spells that std wizards get from allegiance? I assume no.

Just finished my 18 bloodcrushers and skullmaster...

    Hows my bloodhunt?

    Allegiance: Khorne
    - Slaughterhost: The Bloodlords
    Mortal Realm: Ghyran
    Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirster (300)
    - General
    - Command Trait: Mage Eater
    - Artefact: The Crimson Crown
    Karanak (140)
    Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage (270)
    - Artefact: Skullshard Mantle
    5 x Flesh Hounds (100)
    5 x Flesh Hounds (100)
    5 x Flesh Hounds (100)
    5 x Flesh Hounds (100)
    6 x Bloodcrushers (240)
    6 x Bloodcrushers (240)
    6 x Bloodcrushers (240)
    Blood Hunt (120)
    Extra Command Point (50)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 2
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 145

I think it would be better as Murderhost or Blood host. Crushers really want some help charging.

    Hello everyone,

I have two list that to which I would like to know what you think

The first list is just weak, you're very pillow-fisted.

The second is better because of knights and karkadrak, but chaos warriors are weak scroll, the less you take them the better.

Any ideas on how to tweak this to optimize?

Consider doing the slaughterborn battalion, you have reapers anyway. Just swap aspiring for exalted, you won't get the blob into his 10" aura anyway. I think survivability will be more important than bigger secrator bubble, warriors will never punch hard enough without rend, but they can bodyblock opponent from advancing.

Instead of banner it's probably better to take gift on WoK that gives out rerolls. WoK is much easier to position.

Short question: I currently concider to use leftover bits and 5 unbuilt Bloodwarriors to turn thoose into either Wrathmongers or Skullreapers. I currently own 5 Mongers and 10 Reapers and I´m not sure what is the better option to build. Or should I go for another 5 Bloodwarriors to have 15 instead of my current 10`?

10 mongers have way more common uses than 15 reapers or 15 warriors.

If I'm running a mortals list, are there any go-to daemons you'd recommend getting for summoning with blood tithe points?

Letter herald, 10 dogs and a thirster.

Herald is the cheapest summon, sometimes you just need that for point cap or CP use.

Dogs are cheap and good, don't forget they also unbind/dispell.

Thirster is usually last ditch effort, but Rage thirster can turn the game around with some lucky rolls. Also your insurance plan in case both armies destroy each other and Khorne mortals do like to do that with plethora of "attack on death" abilities.
