  1. So I'm playing around with what I think might be my first OWC list for 3rd based on the points leaks, what do we think? (I haven't figured out artefacts and all that yet).

    Leaders
    Megaboss on Makkrusha (General)
    Orruk Warchanter
    Orruk Weirdnob Shaman
    Swampcalla Shaman with Pot-Grot

    Battleline
    Ardboys (10) - reinforce 1
    Ardboys (10) - reinforce 1
    Gore-gruntas (6) - reinforce 1
    Gutrippaz (10)

    Other
    Man-skewer Boltboyz (6) - reinforce 1

    Total Points: 1995/2000
    Wounds: 135
    Reinforcement: 4/4

  2. So I've decided to give Kragnos a shot and have a very stupid list idea in mind for him, what do we think?

    Allegiance: Ironjawz
    - Warclan: Ironsunz
    Orruk Weirdnob Shaman (120)
    - General
    - Artefact: Shamanistic Skullcape
    - General's Trait: Master of the Weird
    - Lore of the Weird: Brain-Busta
    Orruk Warchanter (110)
    - Warbeat: Get 'Em Beat
    Kragnos (760)
    6 x Orruk Gore-gruntas (320)
    6 x Orruk Gore-gruntas (320)
    3 x Orruk Gore-gruntas (160)
    Ironfist (160)
    Extra Command Point (50)

    Total: 2000 / 2000

I wonder if the new OWC battletome will update any of the existing orruk units/models or if the new tome will purely add the Kruleboyz to it? Looks like Kruleboyz already has more unit variation than IJ...

Super stoked on the look of the KB, I think i'd like to add the gutrippaz (much better looking battleline to ardboyz) and the swampcalla shaman to my IJ army.

    😁

I honestly think IJ is solid as-is, especially since they can mix in Bonesplittaz and now Kruleboyz. The ONLY real model I see IJs really needing is a Megaboss on Goregunta and some tweaks to Brutes.

do you think they will have a separate battletome?

I guess it will depend on the size of the range? I kind of hope the get rolled into an updated Orruk Warclans book so we have a good range of choices for them, the removal of Greenskinz took away what I felt was good middle ground between Ironjawz and Bonesplittaz, Kruleboyz could fill that gap. I'm find if they get their own book though.

I just want mount traits for Squigs!

I just want ANYTHING half way decent at least. Destruction has gotten absolutely nothing out of BR so far. Sure, sure, we get Kragnos, Mr. Mortal Wound Shooting will make me worthless, but that's it? One cool model? How many new things did Chaos, Death or Order get over 3, soon to be 4, books?

    Hey Guys,

on my research i found some "BIG WAAAGH"-lists for competitive playing and one unit attract my attention. One of these players used the old "Orruk warboss"-warscroll which has the Greenskinz-keyword. I am wondering how he could use this warscroll in combination with our battletome?!

I can't find any rules to include the Greenskinz-keyword, but they share the keywords Destruction and Orruk. Is it in this way possible to play with the BIG Waaaagh?

The "Orruk warboss with waaagh banner" is such a good support-hero. It would be sad not able to use him.

    Thanks for your help!

PS: I hope my english is good enough since it is not my native language ;)

Prior to GHB 2019, Greenskinz still had official rules and could be taken using Grand Alliance Destruction in Matched Play. When Orruk Warclans first dropped, Orruk fans noticed a little blurb in the Allegiance Abilities for "Armies of the WAAAGH!" that said....

...and all of the units in a Big WAAAGH! must be Orruks.

That's it. Any Orruk could be taken by a Big WAAAGH! for Matched Play, this included Greenskinz, which still had rules at the time.

Unfortunately, Greenskinz were officially squatted and moved to Legends in GHB 2019 and can no longer be taken in Matched Play. That said, if you're playing any other game type in AoS, break out those Boys and go nuts!

    Thanks all for your replies!

It now comes down to (in no patricular order):

    • Ogor Mawtribes (overall killyness, I´ve seen some batreps and this is THE definition of face smashing)
    • Orruk Warclans (more tricks / deeper toolbox and that awesome ROGUE IDOL)
    • Flesheater Courts (due to the advice here I had a glance on them, seem to be interesting – and that awesome looking spell Corpsemare Stampede which I´ve been a fan of since its release)

Flesheater Courts are rather cheap to get right now due to two excellent boxed sets, Ogor Mawtribes can also build from a Start Collecting boxed set.

    Though I´m also thinking about

    • Khorne => I already own a bunch of Khorgoraths because I really like the models, though they don´t seem to be that good
    • Varanguard centric army, either Knights of the Empty Throne or Host of the Everchosen led by Archaon himself.

Ironjawz are also stupid easy to build up - 2 SCBs, a Mawkrusha and a Weirdnob Shaman puts you at about 1600 points, higher if you take a Battalion.

I see it's been 10 days since the last reply on this thread. Surely as a member (a new one) of the gitz community I cannot let that happen.

I want to run an army with 2 blobs of stabbas and I have a few questions.

    1) Positioning of nets. Is there any resources online with regards to the optimal positioning of nets for blobs of stabbas? Some way to maximise coverage so that battle rounds don't become logistical nightmares?

    2) Besides blobs of gitz (I'm not building a third 60 man blob) what would you deem the most cost efficient unit this army has to offer that can hold its own and/or do some damage. Bounderz? Fellwater or Rockgut Troggoths? Manglers? I'm not talking about supports here but key fighters that don't need them to be efficient.

    3) I see a lot of people complaining about fanatics and I don't understand it. How are they not  a perfect countercharge unit? they always fight first and are able to deploy right before the enemy charge.

    Thanks in advance!

I'll try to answer these as best I can, keep in mind, this is more my experience and opinion than anything else:

    1) Are you running full blobs of Stabbas or just 20/40 grot units?  Also, Stabbas or Spears? If you're running Stabbas, you want to have your nets in the 2nd or 3rd line to maximize the amount of attacks you get per grot since the nets have a 2" range.

    2) Rockguts in a group of 6 and Boingrot Bounderz in groups of 10; Boingrots are a glass but if you position them right, they can do some heavy damage on a charge with no buffs. Rockguts are just stupidly tough to kill and I love to them for rear line support in a mixed grot list. The Fungoid Cave is also an amazing unit.

    3) I don't use Fanatics myself, so can't comment on this one.

What does everyone use for endless spells in squig lists?

I find myself adding scuttletide to everything but I was wondering if anyone has had success with other spells?

    thanks

The Scuttletide is must include for any Gitz list IMO. I'm also a fan of Primatic Palisade, it's a LoS  blocker that most of your models in a Squig list can just fly over and has a wide base, so with a lucky terrain setup you can make it absolutely devastating with the Scuttletide.  Cogs are expensive but, IMO, never a bad choice.

  10. Yes, there are two different models for Gloomspite Gitz that use the Webspinner Shaman:

The Webspinner Shaman, which is just the Webspinner Shaman on his own base.

The Webspinner Shaman on Arachnarok Spider, which is the Webspinner Shaman on the A-rok.

You can find the base size for the Webspinner Shaman here: https://whc-cdn.games-workshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/age_of_sigmar_base_sizes_en.pdf (spoilers: it's 25mm)

Either way, enjoy one of the best models in the GSG range!

I was thinking of startling a pure cavalry army for gloomspite, anything you guys think would be better in the list ?

    Allegiance: Gloomspite Gitz
    Mortal Realm: Ghyran
Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig (110)
    - General
    - Moonclan Stabba
    - Command Trait: Envoy of the Overbounder
    - Artefact: The Clammy cowl
    5 x Squig Hoppers (90)
    5 x Squig Hoppers (90)
    5 x Squig Hoppers (90)
    10 x Boingrot Bounderz (200)
    10 x Boingrot Bounderz (200)
    10 x Boingrot Bounderz (200)
    10 x Boingrot Bounderz (200)
    10 x Boingrot Bounderz (200)
    Mangler Squigs (240)
    Moon-Jumper Stampede (140)
    Moon-Biter Squigalanche (90)
    Moon-Jumper Stampede (140)

    Total: 1990 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 3
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 148

Are you trying to make this a one drop list? I could be wrong, but I believe you can only have up to 3 squads of Hoppers or Boingrots, not up to 3 of each with the Moon-jumper Stampede. If you're not looking at making it a one drop, carry on.

I do think you'd do well trying to include a Mangler Boss though.

  12. The Night Goblin Shaman (now called a Madcap Shaman), is definitely usable in a Gloomspite Gitz army. The Black Orcs, as long as they look mostly similar to the current Ardboyz (don't know what the 4E ones looked like) should be usable within Orruk Warclans. Unfortunately, everything else you listed has been relegated to Legends.

They still have AoS rules and base sizes and you can use them in a free play games as Grand Alliance Destruction. They won't be as strong as armies with a book, but they could definitely be used as an intro to AoS. Just be sure your opponent(s) would be fine with playing against a Legends army.

  13. What's included in the army you got? A few models got brought over into AoS (Black Orcs are now Ardboys in Ironjawz and Savage Orcs, as well as a majority of their leaders, were also brought in as Bonesplittas). If it's just a bunch of general Greenskinz and old Orc Warbosses, they have been regulated to Legends, sadly.

I'll also note that top 5 is a super arbitrary cutoff for a 5 round event. At 32 players top 5 includes 4 4-1s and leaves 1 4-1 out. At 64 players it leaves out 7 4-1s while including 3. It's just not a sensible metric to make any kind of real judgment about success.

Exactly! Basically, without the data behind this graphic, it's essentially worthless and just made to show meaningless and potentially misleading data that will cause people who only care about winning to flock to the top three armies in it and the people that play the armies that don't even appear on this list to freak out. I've already seen one friend who plays Sylvanith freaking out about them not appearing in the graphic.

Nothing we didn't already know and its been like this for much longer than GHB 2020.  Is that win the jaws of mork one? does anyone know...?

Edit: just thought that the jaws of mork list would show up as first place so it must be something else.

Keep in mind that this list is only comprised from tournaments which were 2-day, 5 games and 2,000 points. Not sure if that JoM list was in a tournament that met those qualifications. The other thing it doesn't factor in is how played those armies are. If Gloomspite Gitz only had 1 total entry that met this list's qualifications, their showing isn't quite as bad as it looks here. While if KO had 36 entries that qualified, their showing isn't as good as it appears here. I think knowing the full numbers that went into this graphic would be helpful to get a better feel for the meta and what these standings actually represent.

  16. So what's the overall thoughts on Jaws of Mork so far? I'm playing around with trying out a list for it but I'm sure what I should aim for drops-wise and artefact-wise. Here's the current list I'm thinking of, but I'm kind of concerned that the Snufflers are going to be useless after turn 1 or 2 though and that maybe I should put in a Webspinner Shaman instead for a 3rd caster, Sneaky Distraction and help getting out the Scuttletide while keeping the list at a 4 drop?

Really the Loonshrine should have it's rules updated to allow GSG to regen a fully destroyed Battleline unit at half strength rather than just Stabbas and Shootas. Just my opinion, of course.
