Typically alliances are a two way thing. So if Ossiarchs can't take any allies they might not be able to be taken as allies by any other army. However you might have to wait for GW to update Errata documents for other arimes for that detail. As it stands Ossiarchs cannot take ANY allies. However they apparently can take mercenaries (provided you've not chosen to take Mortarch of Sacrament nor Nagash).

I think they're going down a really confusing path with

    .) NH in Legions (2018)

    .) Legion of Grief (2019)

.) Bonereapers which include Nagash and Arkhan (2019).

I totally cannot foresee what happens to that in the end; will Legions be a thing of the past with Bonereapers being the new Grand Host, Night Haunt going to include LoG-Rules and Vamps becoming their own thing/being scrapped; or will Bonereapers also become a Legion of Bone somewhere down the road, or..

A lil' bit salty if I can't include a catapult in my LoB, but thinking about jumping the train full-force come Christmas.

  2. "At the start of your hero phase, if this model is on the battlefield you can pick up to 4 different friendly Summonable units or friendly Ossiarch Bonereapers units, in any combination, that are wholly within 24" of this model."

From Arkhans Warscroll. In case this is not only meant for playing GA Death, it confirms that using either Summonable Units as (at least) Allies with Bonereapers or using Bonereapers as (at least) Allies with Legions is possible.

  4. As Nagash and Arkhan join in with Bonereapers, what do we suspect to happen to old school Death? Vampires, Skeletons and Zombies - I could see them being phased out, but I guess the Reaper's Battletome will shed a bit of light in terms of Ally Rules, mentions in the lore and such.

Bundeling up your forces into one devastating mob, instead of spreading them out.

Manni also works great with knights. But concerning staying power the dragonlord with amulet is best.

ever thought about a coven throne and another batch of vargheist?! The CA buffs knights and bats pretty good

Wasn't this called a Deathstar? Murderball sounds awesome, though ❤️

I'm keen on trying Neferata, a VLoZD and Vhordrai with a Penumbral Engine and Kurdoss Valentian. Still cheaper than the Palanquin and the Batallion and an average 0.83 CP per round for stacking Neferata's CA or, if one's really lucky with the Engine and Kurdoss, using Vhordrai's CA, too.

i usually partake in the murderball yes. Since i tend to roll 2x10 bloodknights almost always i wonder if aristocracy of blood would be better than walking death. Is the classic trait that is useless untill you really need it.
Im even tempted to try neferata

    What's a murderball?

  7. I'm primarily playing Legion of Blood and I feel like I have to set boundaries within the setting to make the lore work. It's all on such a grand scale that most things don't really have an impact. If I'm Neferata's spy and manage to infiltrate a big city, there's a dozen more in the same realm and a hundred more over all. My enemies are Stormcasts which are made of lightning and energy as much as my Vampires are supernatural beings; now that everything's fantastic, the fantastic components don't have that much weight. As long as I'm writing my background around one city, say, Glymmsforge, and add Mortals and their thoughts to it, it's fine, but on the grand scale, even Neferata, for example, doesn't have that much impact in a battle of Gods.

Given that the community article only stated that the preorder would be open in October, it’s looking likely to be preorder on the 26th for release on the 2nd November. For a first wave at least.

Back on topic, I’ve been playing around with colour schemes on half assembled morghasts. I’m thinking of this green for the armour and a dirty, brownish red for the cloth, with a mixture of bone colours.

Not sure what colour is going to be best for the skulls and smoke effects though. Any recommendations?

I'm going to paint my Neferata in the coming days. I'll probably go with a shiny white for the skulls inside (do them white and then finish them with a layer of Vallejo Clear Water, so they get that ghostly shine) - I don't want to use that sickly green. For my Nighthaunts, I've done them black to white with a similar finish, the flames in standard yellow-orange-red with gray smoke. I'll keep this for my Bonereapers, probably.

    Would love to see that!

I don’t know if I trust myself with chopping up the spikes.... :s

    Here you go:

    1.) the full model

2.) where head and neck meet

3.) magnet on the neck (side)

    4.) magnet on neck (front)

    5.) magnet on the head

6.) the space where the saddle usually is

(the Lord is magnetized too, as this is for Legion of Blood - I haven't done the Ghoul King and the Terrorgheist head as this is fairly new, but the place for the magnet on the Terrorgheist head is the same)

It's easiest to drill a bit of a hole into the back of the two heads and put the magnet into it. With the neck I've modeled around it with Green Stuff.

    Hope this helps!

Still looking for an answer, and another question...

Any idea how they removed the saddle on the zombie dragon?

I personally magnetized the head of my Zombie Dragon. The saddle I cut with a knife and built new spikes. If you need pictures, I can post some.

  11. It helps a great deal to see each realm as a small world; and each city then similar to the cities of the Old World. Reading Soul Wars and a few other stories really helped me with scaling down the Realms from this overwhelming concept of multiple worlds to biomes to cities to buildings to humans to stories being set in a street at night in a specific city, reading about the day-to-day-lives of the people inhabiting the CoS really helps; and I guess the release of the CoS Battletome enhances that further (I'm a LoN player and built my background around these stories, this works for nearly all armies, this way, I'd say - the fluff outside the novels is lacking a bit, though, since we haven't had that many battletome-releases in the few years that AoS is running; and not everything's documented, I guess this will take a few more years).

A lot more characterful than what we've got so far but imo there's still lots of room to improve. The fact that they think they are nobles and such still doesn't come quite through just yet unfortunately.

I'ma gonna modify mine heavily, with tattered robes, broken crowns and such. I'll have a theater group of ghouls who do a play of the great king defeating death; and cooks with broken knives; and them all at a harvest fair. These are gonna be made from the Zombie- and the Ghoul-kit, with a tad of old Empire thrown in. The new female helps me a great deal, else, I'd have to resort to Witch Aelves and old Mordheim models (which I'll probably still kitbash in, but to a lesser extent).

I'm with you on that and I'm definitely going to change that regardless of how much work it might be. I also hope to find some proper skulls in the right size to replace their heads with lol

I'll paint them skeleton faces on top of their heads, because somewhere down the road, Nagash thought: "These just don't look scary enough." Goes well enough with his personality and gives great options :)
