  1. I feel tempted by Misthaven, as I love the ruffians and corsairs theme, the problem I have is that I have zero confidence now in what they will do with the old range, specially with the non human part. As it is, I don’t see myself buying dark aelves corsairs and kharividis when there is a high probability for them to dissapear in three years…

Also, I had a small army of cities from Anvilgard, rip that project lol

  2. I was hoping that each CC expansion represented a different district of the city, and the first one is not pointing in that direction, so I’m not so pumped. I also fear that the box will be overcosted, probably costing around 50/60 pounds with no miniatures inside…

  3. I find it funny how they try to circumvent its own rules. They capped the +1 stacking only to add rules that change the hit/wound value.

The other thing that I midly dislike is the acumulation of faction rules, specialy the ones that make you keep track of things or that add more rules depending on the round… is not the amount of bloat the 40k has, but I’m under the impression that they are following the same steps.

Codexes could have been printed a year ago. I feel GW is having some horrid supply issues, and what we're seeing for AoS model releases and announcements is whatever happens to trickle in on a slow boat from China. I don't think this is what they had planned for their big 3rd edition launch. But GW, has a nasty habit of holding all their cards close to their chests and not telling their customers what's going on. A single post of "Hey guys, supply chains are a mess, we'll be releasing what we can over the next 6-8 months, but can't really predict exactly what will arrive when" would go a long way to placating the player base.

Hell even if it was a bald faced lie, it would make us feel better :)

The only time that I remember of them admitting logistic problems was with the sylvaneth book…

  5. I would be in love if they released a Cities book that solidified a bit more the ties between the diverse races, as now it seems like an amalgam of various subfactions. Maybe classificating its keywords by their function in the city (take ironweld as an example of covering the units regardless of their race). For example you could have Expeditionary/patrolling units, which include shadow blades, wanderers,… City Guard/defense including most freeguild and darkling covens, etc

Hold your ground! Hold your ground!
    Sons of Sigmar, my brothers.

I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.
A day may come when the rumours of AoS fail.
When we forsake our armies and break all bonds with Sigmar.

    But its not this day.
An hour of Chaos and Aeldari rumours.
When the age of 40k comes crashing down.
    But its not this day!

This day we dont lose hope!!
by all that you hold dear on this Rumour Thread,
I bid you stand, Men of the Mortal realms!!!

You are right! We must resist agaisnt all the 40 k releases! Now I will be moving my hype to Middle Earth SBG!!

I may be missing something but I don't see how a unit can have more than 3 disease points. It gets reduced to 1 after battlshock and can have a max of 2 added next turn (1 after movement, 2 after fighting).

There will probably be also items, spells and abilities that add disease points

  8. I also find it very tiresome, you have to be cheking each unit if it is in range of disease and adjusting the dice, four times each round, and also counting each unit´s disease dice to throw that many dice each battleshock (twice each round) and also reseting each dice another two times per round.

Taking into account that you will have easily at least six units into combat you will have to be keeping check of the disease dices 24 times per turn (48 per round)...

    Overcomplicated design in my opinion.

Edit: not taking into account the 6s to hit and other effects lol

The other big problem with Warcry is that they made all the non warcry specific warbands better than the warcry ones (like, significantly better) so people either used existing minis or bought AoS stuff that couldnt be identified by GW as for use with Warcry. So suddenly warcry has poor sales...

It is in fact the best skirmish game id played in years, but i think they really need some more non chaos warbands to broaden the appeal.

On the contrary, I would only allow chaos warbands, is like complaining that Necromunda doesn’t feature xenos bands… I think that it would be good for the game, not only from the balance perspective but also for the flavour and the uniqueness of the setting.

I mean, they gotta sell that superb arachnarok sculpt to someone and the 5 people in the world that still plays spiderfang gitz is not a big enough market...

Could be, on the other hand  every spiderfang player tends to buy at least 4 lol

  11. As a Spuderfang player: I guess I truly never had faith to begin with but still… it hurts.

I guess that the spider iconography means Chaos now, let’s retcon the Spider-god and be done with it…

Bone-splitter fellas, wanna share a battletome? Any other forgotten tribe is welcome!

  12. I suposse that they are imitating the kill team roadmap with more frequent big boxes (people love core and vs boxed sets right?)Let’s hope that these core boxes are not limited edition at the very least…

I don’t know, this new system of releases somewhat pisses me off a bit… is true that these products tend to sell better, but you cannot expect people to be continously buying them…

Wow! This got me thinking.   Rerolls would be great.  This is what i've been thinking about:

    • Darkshards in front to unleash hell and sacrifice for casting buff
    • A Battlemage from Shyish to cast Pall of Doom (Bravery -2)
    • Sorceress on Dragon with Master of Magic (Reroll Cast), Arcane Tome (2nd Cast), Fell Gaze (Bravery -2), Vitrolic Spray and Bladewind.

My maths isnt good enough to know the exact odds of it all going off as planned.  Hopefully they would achieve at least 9 MWs, a Monsterous Rampage Roar, and finally hit the opponent with a -4 bravery debuff.

Of course, there are ways to counter the bravery debuff If that were the case.  Id have a potential arcane bolt for d3 mw and stomp for d3 mw.   And of course, 10 darkshards should be good for allocating a further 5 wounds against a (-) save.

I was also planing about using darkshards around her, but in a unit of 20 or 30.
about the bravery debuff another option could be engaging the unit near the sorceress with a karhibidiss, which can give a -1 bravery and also follow the pace of the dragon with 3d6 roll to charge. Now that warscroll batallions are dead we cannot get more than 1 drakeblood curse unless you use blackfang crimelord right?

Casting on an 8+ and then a 6+ means the odds of getting both off are only about 30%. So, it would be a stretch to achieve this normally. But with a darkling sacrifice for +2 to cast, things improve to about 66%.

This could be a rather unreliable way for anvilgard to clearout pesky units of annihilators with 9 wounds :D

If you give her the warlord trait of master of magic she will be rerolling cast dice, so is not so unreliable… The other question is what would be better if getting her second spell with the book at the cost of survival (amulet or Anvilgard cloak) or getting the 5+ ward and getting the second cast with cogs…

Anvilgard gets you two dragons with 5+ ward save, sometimes it tempts me to drop tempest eye lol

    Good catch!

Do we know if there is another ability with the same mechanic? An ability that allows to move after teleporting/set-up?
I think that Kruleboyz can do something like that, once per game, using a Command Trait/CV 6 Spell and a  Mount trait, but I'm not sure if it's in the same league as Translocation.

The city of Misthavn have a command ability which can be used to move a flanking unit which deploys near a hero.
