Battalions and interaction between several elements might be the saving grace of this book.

I expected that the Bloodsecrator would lose one of its rules but I really hoped it would be the anti magic bubble.  Not to mention all the little but impact-full warscroll changes, for better or worse.

Considering what we know now, it all seems rather uninspiring. I'll surely get the book and scan it for something I can have fun with but there is a good chance it will end up as booklet to read when I take a dumb.

Overall, I might be back on my "waiting for Slaves to Darkness update" plan again.

the whole book has been leaked. BoK have been gutted. It's old news at this point.

I'm going to warm up to this, I know we'll discover the good stuff. I like the Exalted Deathbringer's new Impaling Spear (doing d3 mortals in addition on a wound roll of 6) not just to enemy heroes. Put him near the general to give him 7 attacks and stoke him to reroll those wounds....

they'll both be dead from shooting and magic before you get to do anything LEL

Exalted Deathbringer command ability gives you a battleshock immunity bubble of wholly within 18 inches, meaning you truly do not need your Bloodsecrator to be everywhere on the battlefield at once. Now you can truly split up your forces without losing power. I love it.

except you need to spend command points....

But now it isn't reliant on 8 models being slain, so on a slow turn you still have a chance at bringing him in.

Also, the wording changed for his attack, before you had to attack each unit with the number of attacks, now you can throw them all into one unit. Slight change but gives more flexibility.

yeah it's a trade-off. 42% on the roll but no 8+ model requirement.

they are slightly better than liberators, who are now a overcosted unit in comparison to everything that is realeased now.

Making them go up in points, even with situationnal buffs like goretide, would be a very dumb move

Depends on the 'big picture'. We don't know all the battalions / artifacts yet. If there are battalions and artifacts that increase the value (power) of bloodwarriors, they could boost the base point cost for them. Impossible to say anything until all the info is out there and the meta is worked out.

I hope Blood Warrior points went down a LOT to compensate for their weirdly low damage.

Also, Bloodstokers now Reroll ALL to-wound, and only affect Mortals.

Their points won't go down, because they are meant to be picked as part of a specific 'slaughterhost' (new sub battalion sort of thing). They get rerolls on wounds when next to objective markers AND can run and charge in the right set-up. Their points might actually go up, not down. Perhaps they'll get a greater discount when taken in the largest possible number per unit (30 models)

  8. Games Workshop new zealand has new warscrolls. Some highlights:

    1. Skarr Bloodwrath now rolls 2D6 at the end of the movement phase. He comes back on an 8+. Nerf.
    2. Skullreapers have 4 attacks, but one weapon profile. They get an additional MW on an umodified 6.
    3. Skullgrinder has been nerfed. Now offers D3 mortal wounds when within 2'' of an enemy hero or monster.
    4. Skullcrushers now have a 3+ save. These guys are looking to be OP.
    5. Khorgotath -1 bravery nerfed. Now any units attacked by any number of Khorgorath models add +1 to their battleshock roll. No more stacking -1 bravery in 1-model Khorgorath units.
    6. Bloodsecrator no longer offers battleshock immunity. Wizards within 16'' reroll their spells. Huge nerf, might be offset by new artifacts and the new Judgement that attacks spellcasters.
    7. Khorghos khul no longer has the 3d6, 2 highest rolls for charge ability. Instead if he is general, allows rerolls of 1 to hit for units wholly within 16'' of him. Can pile into combat at 8''. Can reroll all hits. 3 attacks, 3+, 3+, -1 rend, D3 damage. Can unbind 1 spell and 1 endless. Reality splitting axe remains as is.
    8. Slaughterpriests can attempt to unbind an endless spell in addition to unbinding a normal spell once per turn.

    some points of new battletome

    Murder host

    - 1 bloodletter hero

    - 3-8 units from blood letters, flesh hounds, bloodcrushers or skull cannons

+2 to charge and run rolls for units of this batallion while completly within 16'' of the batallion heroe

    -----

There appear to be something like FEC houses

one of the is about daemons called like "revenge reapers"

    - add 1d3 to the models that run away after a failed battleshock test 3'' of any unit of "revenge reapers"

    - command ability "no one survives" select a friendly "revenge reapers" daemon unit wholy within  8''  after the first time this unit fights in the combat phase if it remains 3'' of an enemy unit, this unit can inmediatly pile in and attack for a second time with all its weapons

other one is for mortals called something like "goretide mortals"

    - you can repeat results of 1 to wound for "goretide mortals" units wholy within 12'' of an objective

    - command ability "always forward" choose one "goretide mortals" bloodreaver or blood warrior unit completly within 16'' before rolling to run for it, the run roll is 6 and that unit can charge and run on the same turn

Assuming this isn't BS, please post mortal khorne batallions please

In theory, with the wrath axe we have an effective similar range to the ole blood boil bomb of old 16"... now let take a couple assumptions

1st lets assume no repeat prayers....and lets also assume that the priest get one warscroll prayer, and one out of the book...so effective 2 prays per turn....finally lets assume that sacrificing one prayer attempt lets em roll for a judgement.

With those thoughts in mind, a single priest can blood boil at 16" (D6 mortals), on a 5+w/rr summon the axe within 8, that moves 8 (effective 16") that does D3 mortals as it moves over and D6 mortals within 3" after its done thats 2xD6 mortals + D3 Mortals at about 15 or so inches from ONE model

I think they are moving away from the reliance of multiple priests....and making just one a BIG deal (of course i will run a 2nd for redundancy, but you get what i mean)

Thing is a lot of Khorne Heroes just plain suck in terms of wounds and saves. Take mighty lord of khorne. in theory, this model can output a ton of damage with the right build, but it nearly always gets stomped because it's a 6 wound model with no back-up saves. same holds true for a slaughter priest. 16'' just plain sucks, there's no two ways around it, esp when considering the 24'' range of so many spells.

that said, new judgements and shrine are really cool

Some tweaks! As already said in post above, you have no real damage dealers. I would rework the list to allow for 1 WoK bloodthirster. You could cut out the bloodletters and work in some skullreapers.
