First 3d printed model, it came out great and the detail came through well. Very happy with this, have to print some bases next. This model was just something I found on thingiverse that Ima use as a standin for demigryph knights in my dispossessed army

Just looked them up they look fantastic. Maybe we could get a Gargant that is running with a Caber tied behind him covered in spikes, sort of like the Mumakil from LOTR instead of being at the front it's at the rear tied to his waist!!

For a second I thought you meant a ullapool caber grenade and I was very, very confused

  3. Well I went on a hiatus from the site and modeled a bunch so now this is my current project. About 3/4 of the way done on the gun, gonna mount it on a frigate ship. Its about twice the size of the normal frigate cannon, and I am going to forego the small arms for some other features.

    Hey guys,

I have a question regarding the transparent stems for flying units some of GW's models use.

I normally use plastic glue for GW's plastic models (Revell Contacta). Works like a charm :) But what about these transparent stems? I recently got some models that use them (Seraphim Sisters for WH40K - not AoS, I know, but still GW) and I'm not sure how to attach them. Do I use the same plastic glue as for normal plastic pieces or something else?

Aside from Contacta, I also have white PVA glue, some epoxy glue and CA modelling glue from Green Stuff World. Which of them is the best for these stems?

I'd be grateful for your help!

I don't know if those flying stems are made from a different material as the KO ship flight stems, but plastic glue works just fine on those.

So no love for cappin' Fly High?

Getting the feeling KO are a one-trick pony. 😁

Seriously though, a nerf is in the offing so which would you rather nerf, Fly High or shooting? Me, I'd go for Fly High as I dont rely on it so much. I'd rather fly not so high than hit like a wet-flannel like in them oldendays of AoS 1.0.

I mean, ratling guns used to hit harder than a frigate, and that ain't right.

I think that if you were to cap fly high, they would have to buff some other tactic, or introduce more miniatures to make it not a one trick pony. On top of that, I don't think they will nerf the ship, as they are our centerpieces, and that's what they want to sell the most of.

  6. Wish I could get ZBrush, probs wouldn't help since I can't sculpt a melted wax statue, I have only one criticism, and that is that the paws (yes paws) dont seem reptilian at all. It might be the angle, but I feel they seem a little out of place.

Ah hah, i see what you did. Just haven't added the claws, no criticism here, continue with that lovely model. I cannot wait to see it when it breaks symmetry.

i believe the codex coming in January was already confirm to be an existing xeno army with the other one being Dark angels, so the Rumor already is sketchy or many people  jump the gun with out going through things already been stated.

Both of them are listed as being redacted, I dunno if some people have already figured them out but the they look sorta interesting.

  8. Printign out some cavalry bears while I tune my printer to print miniatures, turns out my filament was too old so holding on the giant for a bit. In terms of design, I am going to be printing off some grot gliders for my friend.

I tried to persuade him to let me design a launcher and use them as doom divers, but nooooo, he wants them as a stand alone flying unit since he doesnt like squigs and wants flying units, as I play KO. Can't imagine why, they will get slaughtered, but oh well. It will be a toss up whether I get around to making a lucnher with some optional rules for launching these guys, but my idea is too attach bags with some mushrooms sticking out the top and have him use them as bombers, I dunno. Ideas on what it is are welcome, I probs will be printing this out when I get my hands on a resin printer.

Gonna make another 2 unique sculpts as well. I will also probably put them up in Thingiverse for anyone who wants to print their own.

    Hi Everyone!

As someone new-but-not-so-much to the hobby (a year and some months) I would like to talk a little with more experienced folks about collecting more than one army.
I'm almost getting my starting army to 2k and in the mean time I ended starting other 2 projects (throught box splitting with a friend and a good deal on second hand models), and honestly there is still other factions that I would love to paint and play with. I started looking at what other list options I could make with the armies that I alredy have, but after a certain point to get a different enought list I would need lots of new models to make it... Which ends costing as much as starting a smaller force of another faction!

With that in mind, I started to wonder how everyone else tackle those problems. Some things I would like to ask some insight on how everyone proced with:
    - When you start a new force, do you set yourself to a points limit other than 2k (like 1k or 1.5k)?
    - When you choose to expand beyond the 2k range?
    - When you decide that you finished getting everything you wanted for a army?

Right now, I am also not too into the hobby, but I have kinda arrived at the same spot you are at, and really my answers tha ti found (for myself)

    - I like really big forces, so I dont set myself a limit at all, just kinda slowly building up.

    - See number 1

    -See number 1

Yeah, I honestly think that some people would definitely not be able to manage not setting a limit, but I buy a box a month, sometimes every other month, and I basically just decide from there which faction it goes into.

  10. Sounds like you get hit pretty hard, I would say you got pretty damn unlucky. Normally, our boats are surprisingly fragile, and if you had gotten in melee our infantry and boats tend to melt. Generally, we also are generally a bit weak-ish to mortals and high damage stuff. We have the bombs and drills for mortals, and thats it, and once again, our infantry is pretty squishy and no melee. Magic is pretty detrimental to us, we have usually one to zero unbinds, and finally, we are really slow once we get far from the boats. Kill the boats, and the foot soldiers are screwed essentially. Also, melting 700 pts is unusual for a couple of small boats and a frigate, so don't think that's a your screwed scenario. those had to be some lucky rolls. Also, that beginning charge would've definitely hindered the KO, but the main point is too let them come to you and put up chaff to zone them out, so basically sit on an objective, and make it so when the boats are coming in, they have to shoot your stuff u don't care about. Getting in the first hit is important, but unless you engage them with flying stuff, they can just leave and still shoot. KO is good, but there are def counters.
