Are you experienced with dry brushing? You should really practice new techniques on something like a grot ($1) instead of a Skragrott ($40) but i don't think it will hurt to paint it back black and start over.
It seems like your brush is too wet. A good test is, after drying the brush on a paper towel, brush your hand. Is there still paint? You should just barely see any.
Also make sure you have the proper kind of brush. citadel sells a "dry brush" but the idea is short stiff bristles.
Also, it looks like your brushing technique is not quite right.
Really you need to do 2 things:
1. Watch warhammer TV. It should not be hard to find a video of duncan drybrushing something. Watch a few.
2. Practice on models you don't care about as much
I’m very new to it, and I have a dry brush it just feels like either there isn’t enough paint or there’s too much. I’ve watched a few videos with Duncan but I’ll try to watch some more and start with my 60 Grots, thanks!

Hey, few questions for my army, is totem of the spider god worth having since it's what the bad moon does anyway if you're lucky enough to be in it? Should I change the artefact or maybe even give one to my Loonboos instead of my arachnarok? Also what's better, Scuttletide and Cauldron or Mork's mighty mushroom? (Could replace Cauldron with another endless spell up to 60 points like the Malevolent Moon.) One last thing, in my army I'm going to have two x7 units of squig heard simply to have 3 battlelines, what should I use these for? I assume they won't do much damage, should I use them as objective holders maybe? Thank in advance!

replace “venomous spiderlings” with scuttling terrors to make then spiders run and charge, or sneaky distraction for a -1 to hit bubble of 12”. Either are worlds better then the spiderlings, from a competitive standpoint.
Thanks, I've gone with scuttling terrors because you can shoot aswell!

Endless Spells
Mork's Mighty Mushroom (80)
Total: 1990 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 0
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 175Is the result. Only mistake is it thinks skragrott makes spider riders battleline which he shouldn't.
Thank you so much! Helps alot, what's the difference between the artefacts and like The hand of gork and great green spite?
Also without the artefact does this make my loonboss useless? Should I keep him?

You have both spiteful prodder and totem of the spider god. Two artefacts, you get one native and one for each battalion. Since you don't have a battalion you can only have 1.
Ahh, sorry, this is my first ever army as I'm new to warhammer so I'm still quite unsure about them things!

Isn't it restricted to moonclan only. Also pretty sure squig herd is units of 6. You are short a battleline, need 3.
Have you got another 6 squigs, could drop a snuffler unit for another herd to get the battleline requirement. Unfortunately that cuts into the spiteful prodded as snufflers are fantastic for that extra dice.
Last question, where are you getting the second artefact from?
I always suggest using the warscroll builder on the warhammer community site. It's way better than anything else I've seen.
Yes sorry I meant 6, i do have another 6 squigs... and yeah just checked it's moonclan only rip. Still good for squigs I guess? And what do you mean second artefact?

Hey,
I've finally finished with my army and need opinions on it, here it is as of now-
Allegiance: Destruction
LeadersSkragrott - General - The great green spite
Fungoid cave-shaman - Hand of Gork
Loonboss - Spiteful Prodder
Webspinner shaman (On Arachnarok spider) - Totem of the Spider god - Venomous Spiderlings
Battleline
60 x Stabbas7 x Squig Herd
Unitsx5 Loonsmasha Fanatics
x10 Boingrot Bounderz
x6 Sneaky Snufflers
x6 Sneaky Snufflers
x10 Spider Riders
x5 Sporesplatter Fanatics
Endless Spells
Mork's Mighty Mushroom
Total: 1990 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 0
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 175So here's my thinking, the Stabbas are the bulk of my army, I can buff them with a unit of sneaky snufflers and the Sporesplatters to get them to 3 attacks each, I'll put the spore splatters in front of a hero to protect them from long range shooting, my Loonsmasha's will be in either the Stabbas or a unit of sneaky snufflers to protect them... I'll just have to see what works best from playing. My Boingrot's could be hand of gork'd behind the enemy or on an objective. The Arachnarok spider and spider riders will stick together, the shaman, giving the riders the 5+ mortal wounds buff. Imagine venom of the spider gods, totem of the spider gods and the snufflers buff... that's a lot of damage! As for the other sneaky snufflers, they could buff the spider riders for some mortals wounds or just be a backup for the Stabbas, maybe I've heard the 2D6 can be worth it? I've chosen the great green spite, spiteful prodder, and venomous spiderlings to add some more mortal wound output. Mork's Mushroom will hopefully add to board control and is just a good endless spell. Oh, and the 7 squig herd is just because I bought them, love Squigs and had 80 points left over! Everything is basically already bought and built apart from the Sporesplatter's and one unit of sneaky snufflers. The only downside I can see is maybe there are not enough 'tanks' apart from the Arachnarok, could maybe get rid of a few things for a mangler? Also, there could be too many supports. Would love to see your guys opinions and what you would change!

Hey, this is probably in the wrong place, but its the only forum I use Is there any rules about having too many points, like say we're playing a 2000 points game and I have 2030 points, what happens? Is there a handicap I would get? And if it is allowed to go over, what's the maximum points you would be able to go over? Asking because I want to fit another unit of Boingrots in but 30 point short! Thanks!
-
Question, why do big units even have a bravery stat? Like for example the Dankhold Troggboss, it has bravery 7 but in the decription, it even says 'is a single model' so it'd be impossible for him to run due to bravery!? I'm guessing it's for other abilities in the game that go off of the enemies bravery? Or is there a bigger reason? Thanks!
-
I need some clarification for the Boing! Smash! ability. 'After this unit has made a charge move, pick 1 enemy unit within 1 inch of this unit and roll a dice for each model in this unit.' So do you roll a dice for each model in your unit of boingrotz OR do you roll a dice for each model in the unit you are attacking (The one you charged in to?) Sorry I just always never know 100% with abilities they confuse me. Thanks!
-
Can someone explain to me, more simply, the sporesplatta ability? You just can't shoot anymore behind them? But you can shoot them? Idk it confuses me! Also explain why anyone would choose hoppers over boingrots? For me it seems so simple to pick the boingrot unless u dont have enough points

I think you’d be surprised how in line12 wounds 4 up save really is with other monsters, for instance skaven get the hell pit (220 points 12 wounds 5 up save) and every skaven greater daemon is similar but of course you get magic and command, next I’ll offer up the zombie dragon and terrorgheist (300 points 14 wounds 4 up save) I mean nagash and Archaon are abysmal if their survivability was taken into account. Hitting on 3s and wounding on 3s is fine and low rend can be sucky but against a lot of opponents I don’t think it’s that’s bad, even damage wise it’s fine compared to other monsters, but let’s look a tad at something it has that almost no other monster has... it ha so an amazing damage table! This thing gets worse, then gets better again as it’s wounded which is amazing! The colossal squig is actually less damaging at several points of damage and trust me when you tell an opponent that your monster gets better when damaged at some point they’d might be reluctant to attack it. Colossal has mortal wounds, but even with its mortal wounds it’s strictly worse then the mangler at certain points of the damage table. It also has very similar attacks and just one ups the mangler a full wounds and at some Damage taken. Also if 16 wounds 5 up save for more points isn’t garbage then I’m confused (although minus one to hit does help it doesn’t help in some scenarios) I think the best monster for gloomspite is troll hag or bust haha, but the mangler when compared to other monsters isn’t that bad... give him a chance alright? 😭😭😭
I much prefer the mangler over colossal

And he's backed up by a rainbow of Squig bounderz at the moment. The end result is going to be a tide of killer skittles/easter eggs of doom when the painting is done.
Post them here! I wanna see

Squig herds might be terrible vs battleshock, you can also get 12 of them for less than a giant. If your opponent battleshock off half the unit you STILL got better points per wound than the giant.
4 hours ago, Skabnoze said:but their absurdly low bravery can make units evaporate quickly
You have to remember their 'Squigs go wild' trait, I feel like the bravery was purposely put low due to that reason.

Here's a photo from last nights game. I don't have a fully painted army yet but seeing just a few of the completed squads next to each other looks so good!
Love their bases, how did you make them?

Ok... I'm super confused with Gobbapalooza. Are they 240 each or 240 points for all five? I feel like if they're 240 for all five then surely it's a no brainer? 2 wizards + the abilities from all of them for just 240 + you could also add the battalion? On the age of Sigmar app, I can add up to 6 (not 5) for 240 points, but that just doesn't seem right, am I missing something? Thanks!

Can't decide between Sportsplatta and Loonsmasha! Help?

There are arguments to be made for all of them, but you will probably find yourself using the Shaman variant in most Spiderfang builds or even broad Gloomspite builds that bring an Arachnarok. The non-shaman variants feel like they will mainly be used in armies that are taking multiple Arachnaroks - which most pure Spiderfang armies will want to do,
Thank you! The shaman looks great.
13 hours ago, novakai said:the Shaman variant is definitely the go-to option and probably the strongest variant. mainly because it both a strong monster and a spell caster hero
Thanks. I think I'm gonna go for this!
1 hour ago, Satyrical Sophist said:The shaman spiders intrinsic spell is so good. Ran the artifact that triggers venom on 5+. Cast spell. Did 14 mortals in one combat.
I've done the shaman first. (In general gloom spite, slightly squig focused). My second will probably be warparty. Especially since you can just have the howdah removable and run as skitterstrand too.
My army is a bit of everything except trogoths or gargants, I am going to have a unit of 10 spider riders though which I can use the spell on, thankyou!

What's the best Arachnorok spider varient... I'm mid building and don't know what to go for?

Hey everyone,
I'm wondering what would be a great 1000 and 2000 point army for mid-tier tournaments?
Also, I'm currently trying to decide how to base my gloomspite, any suggestions? Trying to go for a swampy, mushroomy vibe but don't quiet know what to use, thanks!

Hey,
So I've wanted to start a new army with Gloomspite Gitz, but, I'm very new to playing the game and would love some help! So far I have the new fanatics, arachnorok spider, 10 grot spider riders, squig herd, fungoid cave shaman and squig hopper/bounderz as well as the gloomspite endless spells.
Here was the army I was thinking of
5 Sporesplatta Fanatics
10 Grot spider riders
1 Arachnorok spider
10 Boingrot Bounderz
6 Squig herd
1 Loonboss on Mangler squigs
1 Fungoid cave shaman
2 units of 40 stabbas
20 Shootas
And Morks mighty mushroom
Since I have no idea what's actually good that's just based off some research I've done. I would love to see what armies you guys would use. Thanks!

I don't think you have enough battlelines, do you? Only 2x Squigs herds. Also, I think 3 mangler squigs is a bit overkill, I'd add more boingrots and another squig herd instead of one of the manglers!Maybe some grots?
