  1. Hard reed nothing, but was posted in reddit

    https://m.imgur.com/a/R5OW4AY

    Seems the unefather cost 300,.

Gain a feel no pain of 6 or 4( i cant read it).

Got naextra attack with the keyaxe.

If dont move then get extra 6" to the flame of the magmadroth

I cant read but some change to the weapon breaker skill.

New comand ability that i cant read also.

Seems pretty good for extra 20 points

  2. So a top army as idoneth get a nerf of 10 points to eels(a increase of around 6'5%) and buff across tye board to every unit.

A botton army as dispossesed get a nerf of 10 points to warriors( increase of 12% to the cost of the unit),a buff to the cost of heroes who are minor % of the points in lists and zero changes to the other units?

    Makes sense.......

  3. Yes,every army across the board got insane buffs in points.

Only a select overpowers units got nerfed(evocators, wytches, reapers, eels)all those from top tier armys and got huge buffs to all the others units from the army.

But dispossesed a BOTTON tier army got nerf to warriors, buff to heroes(who are a minor % of the list) and zero changues to units???

This is dissapointing for not saying other word.

How heck can be posible than hammers cost 160 points when swordmasters are better in all and now cost 110 points?or idoneths tralls have same stats but 100% more damage and cost as 120 now also.

I guess it is better to be squated, but those changues are in reality a squat of dispossesed for who want play balanced games.

Seriously i cant think any company who nerf a army who is at the botton but only games workshop.

  4. Agree with you,a tome with free peoole together dwarfs is almost a insult to dwarfs players.

It is as if they mix every high elf, wood elf, dark elf together and do a tome.

It dont makes sense,it is a lazy work of gw,of course it is easier and cost less money release a tome with disposesed together free people and ironweld before a full tome for each.

If they release a tome with all the armys together of the old world gonna be a lazy work and i hope dont happen.

So is Gotrek being made in resin ?

Yes it is a shame but he is going to be finecast.

The white dwarf in spacemarine suit and the female hero from imperial guard who was a hero from novels as gotrek were all resin.

So it is 100% for sure gotrek gonna be resin also.i would get him for sure if he was plastic, but i never gonna buy nothing done in finecast in my life

+++ MOD EDIT +++ Fixed your typing of finecast

  6. I would get him for sure even if he havent rules, great for proxy of fyreslayer or dispossesed heros.

But i have a problem.i have a grudge with finecrap, and i as dwarf player i must follow my grudgebook and i wont buy finecrap never.

And the whitedwarf on spacesuit was finecast as the imperial guard female hero from black library,so pretty sure that gotrek gonna be resin also.

A shame as i really wanted it.

I think otherwise - with their focus shifting to releasing BT in some kind for all factions it makes  sense to release two Gloomspite-alike armies for Aelves

    1) Hysh Aelves - realistically how many kits there are in GW store ?

    - Skycutter(which could go to Free Cities BT) , Pheonix, Dragon

    - Pheonix Guards, White Lions

    - Chariots

    - Dragon Princes

    - plastic heroes,mages and Loremaster

Throw in models for Teclis, Tyrion, (as they are heavy on heroes thanks to plastic kits), 1 cavalery kit with 2 unit entires, 1 elite kit with 2 entries, 1 battleline kit with 2 entires + terrain + endless spells. That would be pretty amazing.

    2) Malerion Aelves

    - 1 kit for Battelines (Shards, Bleaksword, Spears)

    - 1 kit for elits (Execs and Black Guards)

    - Dragon, hydra, chariot

    - Cold Ones

    - Corsair

    - Assassin, Fleetmaster, Sorceress

Throw in model for Malerion, some kind of big hero/monster kit , 1-2 kits for elites with 2-4 entries, maybe extra battleline kit + terrain + endless spells

    It's win-win for GW :

    - they unify all those micro factions (maybe giving them even Allegiance abilities Spiderfang alike)

    - players that already have Aelves will buy new stuff

    - new players will buy older kits which will sell like hot cakes as majority of them is fairly new

    - gives both armies a lot of options and unit entries.

    100% this.

It isnt hardly work do this, they dont need release nothing new,per example a high elf tome with :

    heros:

dragonlord kit can have 4 warscrolls:a named hero(the elf with dragon helmet)-a generic hero(the elf with comon helmet)-a named mague(the drakeseer)-and a archmague on dragon.

The phoenyx kit can have 6 warscrolls:unmounted and mounted version or fire and frost, named mounted and unmounted

The prince mounted and banner kit have two warwcrolls also

Archmague box have two warscroll also

    Troops:

    Dragon lance

    White lions

    Phoenyx guards

New swordmasters of the box with skavens(but this is hard as the molds are sculped together with skavens)

They dont need release nothing new, thats is almost zero work.

Only relaunch those box with aos theme boxes and oval bases, a battletome and they gonna get more money with them than with the endless stormcast spam( in my group as the 80% players we are waiting for this move of gw to buy high elfs)

I dont get as a company cant think of this move, have almost 0 inversion and the potential to give them many money in return.

Others armys as dispossesed could get this same work

Hey guys, i was watching a video from Vince , who was inside the seminar fo AoS.

According to him, GW staff has a plan to have all factions covered with Battletomes in about a year or so. They claimed to have a schedule for it.

They also said that the tomes may not come as we expect, with merged factions, reimagined ones or mixes of old an new.

On this questionary GW said they are aware of the public that feel left out without tomes, afraid to dive into the game and be discontinued. They said it is holding AoS back and that their goal right now is to fix it.

Ps: i dont play Dwarfs, i play High Elf, but i respect you guys for all the perseverance to keep your faction  togheter so i decided to stop by and share the news.

    Cheers

Thanks! I hope be true and we get dwarfs and elfs tomes soon

  9. Maybe be strange but im more hyped for the new bone spray than the paints.

I love paint on white primer,i hate black because it is hard to see details,i changued to vallejo grey but for projects as fyreslayers painted with shades i need white primer.

And white primer is veeeeeery bad,it goes frosty or eat details easy.

If this new spray can be used as replace for white primer and work fine i gonna be very happy

I’ve going through the warscrolls of each unit as they currently stand.  Are they any changes you guys would like to see?

    I’ve got a very small suggestion for starters; give longbreads an extra attack.  This puts them on par with the other elite fighter units in the army and narrows that difference.  This way you get;

Ironbreakers; braver warriors with an extra attack and much higher durability.

Hammerers; braver warriors with an extra, more accurate attack, slightly better durability, and immunity to battle shock if near heroes.

Longbeards; braver warriors with an extra attack, slightly better durability and the area buff of grumbling.

That’s just for starters though.  I’ve got more but I’m working atm. :D

Make every heavy armored dwarf(irombreaker, hammerer, longbeard, irondrake) 2wounds

Make that our shields work vs rangued attack and not only melle

    Put a 4++ to ironbreakers

Irondrakes get the rangue up to 24"

Dwarfking get the useless hability that have changued to some as inmune battlesok or something more usefull, also get a 4++ and one time per game double number of attacks(as belegar warscroll)

Unforged need a 4++ and some form of deep strike or hide in units to be viable, also a cost of 60-80

Also a warlord trait that when our general is killed every dwarf gain 1 attack is cool(thorim have it and it is cool)

since 2017 until late last year, Fyreslayers were my main army in aos. sadly i was getting a bit bored of them, within my group i basically auto won in Duality of Death and lost everything else. i dont think the army was bad, it was definately down to how i was playing them. however i did get bored of them and moved on.

after playing 2 games with the new book vs Stormcast and Beasts of Chaos, heres a bit of what i think

-Throwing Axes: disappointed they were nerfed to 5+
-Runes: small complaints. movement one nerfed to 2" and the throwing axes one was nerfed to bring the axes back up to 4+ why?
-lack of magic defense really hurts a lot more now than it used to pre endless spells. at least our one artefact for it is no longer once per game
-Magmadroths: cool that you can take 5 with Lofnir. the abilities being tidied up is good, the extra wounds, attacks and most of the mount traits are great, still die to a stiff breeze as always
-Hearthguard Berzerkers: they always felt overcosted b efore but now i think theyre great. theyve survived better than vulkites
-Vulkite Berzerkers: extra wound is great, normal axe attacks are better, no damage save hurts a lot (see below about points costs), Berzerker Fury is a bad rule, ours is once per game yet khorne get it all the time on a unit thats much better
-Infernoth: my favourite model of the prayers and i think it hs great rules. my only issue is you need a lot of priests to really take advantage of this and the other prayers
-Grimwrath Berzerker: greatly improved, my favourite foot hero. i look forward to game 3 where i plan to try a list using 10 or more of them (since they dont have the LEADER tag, you can take as many as you want but they cant be your general)
-Points: so heres the real dowside to the new rules (apart from not getting any new units). it feels like the points are based on what the units used to do and not what they do now. Vulkites cost too much at 160 without the damage save, Hearthguard Berzerkers could maybe go up by 20. magmadroth points are around the wrong way Runesmiter should be the cheaper one. battlesmith isnt worth 140 for what he does now (+1 save instead of reroll saves)

ive got a coule of list ideas i still have to try out before i fully form my oppinion, but so far im not enjoying playing them as much as i once did and i feel like i might end up going back to my Flesh-Eaters :/

Take care people here gonna jump to your troath if you says anithing bad about the tome

First of all, all your examples have 1 wound (with phoenix guard being technically exception). Vulkites have literally double their survivability. Secondly, fyreslayers get easy access to save stacking so that can make vulkites even more durable. Thirdly, phoenix guard are pretty strong yes, but that is also the reason why phoenix temple based order lists have done well in tournaments. They're too good for their points. And even there... Even there the difference is only 20p and vulkites have ability to pile in after death (not to mention allegiance advantages) which should count for something. Also vulkites get full rerolls with axes. As for the dispossessed example, well getting 20 guys in melee is lot harder than getting 10 in melee (despite smaller bases) and once again, allegiance advantages for fyreslayers are the reason why they're better army than dispossessed (for now).

But seriously, do you really have nothing else to contribute to this thread (or any other thread for that matter) than constant whining and crying? Every time I see overly negative comment in this forum, I don't even need to look at the name to know it's you. It's just a game. If vulkites are bit meh, they get point cuts in the future. Same with everything else. Besides, at this point it's too early to tell and each army has it's own strenghts and weaknesses, you can't always tell straight away whether unit x is better than y.

So all is great and we cant say nothing bad about the tome?

It is a fact that vulkites are 100% useless now. Maybe i was wrong compare them to units of others tomes.

But it is so easy as compare them to stormcast, vulkites=liberators  heartguard=sequitors  it is 100% the same situation now for us.

Hearthguard are cheaper than vulkites and for less cost have more damage, same tankiness and easier to use(for same cost are half models and 2" rangue so much easier to attack with all) and have access to the same buffs than vulkites.

So how i am negative for point something that it is obvious?

Heartguard are better in all than vulkites for less points and have the same buffs,it is a fact

I really need to know in which world you live because 140 pts units with that type of damage are not common at all and the one who have this damage output don't have a third of vulkites resilience

Did you really expected 120 pts for a 20 wounds save 4+ ( with shields) units ?

White lions 120points 20 attacks 3-3 1 rend, save4 and reroll saves 1 in shooting

Swordmasters 140 points 20 attacks 3-3 1 rend save 4 rerroling all in shooting

Grimhast reapers 140 points 20 attacks 4-3 1 rend invulnerable save of 4

Namarti tralls 140 points 20 attacks 3-3 1 rend (50-100% more damage vs 1 or 5 wounds) same save of 5

And the best example of one unit 100% better than vulkites: the phoenyx guard,140 points for 10 wound with save 4 and 4++ 20 attacks 3-3 0 rend.so same attacks,1 better save,4++ that is the same than double wound and cost 20 less also have 25 base and 2" rangue

Oh also  maybe the worst army of aos2, the dispossesed have for 160 points 20 warriors that are 20 wounds with save of 5(rerrolling all at melle that is the same that a save of4 at melle of vulkites) also have 20 attacks 4-3 1 rend that is the same that vulkites with shield. So same points for same stats, vulkites have the attack even if dead and warriors the reroll wounds in oponent turn. I prefer vulkites but is a example of how bad are vulkites when they have almost 100% the same stats that a unit of one of the worst armys of this edition

I know that i was very salty at first and now after thinking more Many things in the new tome have been buffed and are great, but vulkites have been nerfed and havent any use now.

After some thinking maybe they are usefull vs flesh eaters,so they can figth back when the dragon allways attack first and attack twice kill them

  14. 3 hours ago, Azamar said:

I’ve noticed that most of the lists people are thinking of have a lack of Vulkite berserkers- any thoughts on why this is?

It looks to me there really should be room for them in any list still. sure, hearthguard have gone from a noticeably weak choice to a great one, but Vulkites can operate away from heroes without suffering too much, and are a good deal cheaper per model. As far as board control goes, they’re surely a valid choice still?

Vulkites are really bad now, only 20 attacks at 3-3 with 0 rend for 160 points is a joke when every similar unit cost 120-140 and have the same 20 attack with 3-3 but 1 rend.

Also the save of 5 is very poor.

In general vulkites have been nerfed without reason, with a cost of 120 they would have any use but 160 is too much and hearthguard zerkers are better in all,for 40 less points have the same tankiness(double wound is the same than 4++),and for damage also the hearthguard have more danage for less points.

So nobody gonna bring vulkites when for 40 less points the hearthguard are better in every aspect

  15. Because do more damage?

Squig knigth do 20 attacks,4 hit,3 to wound,-1 rend 1 damage=6'6damage also do mortal wound by each model with a 4+ so a unit of 5 do 2'5 mortal wounds

So 100 points for 6'6damage with 1 rend and 2'5 mortals wound

    Now hearthguards, have two options

Option1 the poleaxes are 10 attacks 3 hit 3 wound -1 rend 2 damage=8'8 damage and havent mortal wounds

Option2 the censer are 10 attacks 3 hit 3 wound 0 rend 1 damage=4'4 damage with no rend and do mortal wounds with the 6 to hit that are 2 extra mortal wounds that 10 attacks= 3'3 mortal wounds

    So:

Squigs: 6'6 damage with 1 rend and 2'5 mortal wounds for 100 points

    Hearthguard:

Option1 poleaxes: 8'8 damage with 1 rend and 0 mortals,so same rend1 damage but 2'5 less mortals wound for 120 points

Option2 censer: 4'4 damage with 0 rend and 3'3 mortal wounds for 120 points that it is 2'5 less damage than squigs and with 0 ap and do 0'8 mortal wound more thsn squig for 20 more points.

I think that squigs do more damage than both versions of hearthguard if i havent done any math bad.

Also yes we have many buffs for them but squigs also have maybe more buffs for them than us as the moon, the colosal squig or many spells.

Also squig cost 20% less and have 16% worse save(save of 4 vs save of 5\4++ is a 16% worse save) so per points hearthguard are less tank

Dont get me wrong, hearthguard are very good but i think the game have some units so good or better than they as the squig knigth that havent been nerfed yet,so it isnt problable they are nerfed soon

Edit:i did some math wrong so i had to redo

  16. I agree that hearthguards berzerers are very nice.

But a nerf in points isnt probable because we have in aos2 many units that are so good or better and havent nerfed.

Per example the new goblin knigths in squigs have been around months and are very very similar to hearthguard.

Have the same wounds(10) better regular save (4) but havent the 4++.

Have as double move than us(2d6 are a median of 7 move)

Have the same atacks(20 attacks of 3hit 3 wound -1 1 damage is the same than us,a total of 20 damage)

But they do 2'5 mortal wounds per round that we dont

And the cost 100 so 20 less.

So they have a little worse save if we have the 4++,have better damage output with the same regular damage but mortal wounds, double move than us and cost 20 points less.

So my point is: hearthguard are veeeeery good, but aos2 tomes have units so good or better and havent been nerfed yet so it is soon to call overpower to hearthguards.

I have been pretty negative with the changues and i gonna try test them before more negative feedback.

I know that in offitial tournament they wont let you,but in my local tournaments i gonna use my vulkites as proxys of hearthguard with no problem

  17. Vulkites 160 points makes them ome of the worst units in the game.

Hardboys are same stats or better and are non competitive army. Vs wytches, reapers, trhalls, every aos2 battletome unit they are useless.

Also magmadroth dont getting 5++ as verminlords got makes them so bad as before.

Battlesmith have been nerfed into the ground

Hearthguard berzerkers are very good now and the way to play competitive is our unique build now.

All out of them is at aos1 levels
