"We don't want people to use the same model for multiple systems"

Also: "We want people to use the resin Daemon Primarch for multiple systems"

So yeah typical "I'm contradicting myself within my own fake rumour"

Also love that GW have sold out of nearly everything Old World related but can gauge that it's underperforming.

  2. You know if the rumours are true that the ranges are being split to track the sales of each system better...

As much as I like any plastic kit or model being available to buy. In my opinion it's just bizarre to have 2 different kits for the same unit. Apart from nostalgia and if it's cost effective, I can't see any incentive to buy the old Night Goblin kit when we have the newer sculpts right there.

It's not going to be a good insight into what system is selling more Night Goblin kits, because most people I assume will still buy the newer sculpts, and if they are cheaper, then people would buy the old kit just to use in AoS as well. Madness.

  3. Was just tuning into Val's stream. There's a rumour that Chaos Dwarves were originally slated for the Old World, but ended up looking too similar to the new designs proposed for AoS, so the Old World focus was scrapped and was shifted towards AoS for their plastic release.

Bizarre business decisions if true, but good for AoS I suppose? (A disappointing basis for releases imo).

Yeah they are great. I've always wanted a Skaven army since reading the 4th edition Skaven army book and attempted it around 6th or 7th edition and cried a lot from painting slaves. I think I'm ready to attempt it again :D

    Do it! Yes-yes!

Also, btw, I keep reading all these "Nah, bro, clanrats are new, they don't need an update"

Latest clanrats models were from 2010. 14 years ago. Let that sink in.

There were other skaven units in WAY most dire need of a refresh, but they also needed an update.

Holy moly I didn't realise they were that old! The majority of plastic Skaven have aged so well.

  6. Honestly, I can't tell you how happy these make me.

These sculpts are perfect, absolutely perfect, the paintjobs as well.

Looking at the old Clanrats I really didn't know what to expect as I thought they were decent anyway, but seeing the facial features, the sculpting on the cloth and the character moulded into these guys. The poses, the little details that we never had before. They've understood what makes their aesthetic shine. The mix of chainmail, hoods, weapons.

They look like a proper representation of their artwork.

Honestly, these are perfect. I want a full army immediately. Skaven were the first army I collected when I was given my first White Dwarf because they reminded me of the Red wall books, pretty much the only literature I was interested in.

    Perfect, perfect, perfect.

This screams people not talking to people. I’d say if somebody knew about what was going on, they wouldn’t have answered like that as it would make them look silly and bad. They would have answered saying probably or some other non committal answer.

Definitely. Such a shame all round. An absolute shame.

  8. As disappointing it is to see BoC on that list. I'm more shocked by all the Warcry warbands.

What was the point in collecting these? (Yes I know they're useable right now and represented something cool in the past).

They were just so unique. Yes they don't really fit an overall theme, but this was a great chance to really diversify Chaos and it's different representations. It feels so weird to just ditch them. Especially Horns of Hashut. If of course they're going to be rolled into Chaos Duradin, but if not, what a bizarre unit to release with no context or wider implication and then just take away.

Am I reading too much into that one?

Since Chorfs are coming this edition, I have a feeling the Skaven have accidentally revealed them.

They did this with a gnawhole draining an ocean and revealing the existence of the Deepkin to Nagash.

I also appreciate that the game is going to allow for more reactive play. It's going to be an interesting time this summer!

There's an old Liverpool story when workers were digging the Williamson tunnels in which a team of workers thought they dug through to hell, when unknowingly to them, had been digging right above another team.

When you're in total darkness underground through a period where there's probably a lot of spiritual superstition and belief, safe to say they absolutely grotted their pants when they dug a hole and saw figures on the other side staring at them.

I'd love for the Duradin reveal to be a similar  accident by the Skaven, just both digging tunnels and it turns into the Spiderman pointing meme, or they uncover some giant underground industry hellscape.

Im very interested in seeing how Skavens full on Realm invasion affects all the other Factions.

I wonder if Chaos Duardin will be brought into the fold due to the Skavens machinations.

Chaos Duradin seething finding out Skaven beat them to making an apocalyptic underground explosion producing instant massed industry and having a bigger slave population.

Sons of Behemat, Skaven and Ogors are going to be discontinued?!?

    /s

King Brodd has gone back to sleep and so all the Sons of Behemet  have decided to stroll off into the sunset.

The Skaven were quickly vanquished once the cinematic trailer ended unfortunately.

    It's all Ogre.
