Note how my post doesn’t actually talk about those kinds of proxies. Please stay on topic. We’re discussing painting armies differently to the official schemes. Save your silly strawmen for someone actually making that argument.

How do you cope with people painting their army in a non official scheme? Do you insist that they don’t use the stormhost rules, even though page 117 states to “pick the stormhost that most closely matches the nature of your own stormhost?” (Not colour scheme). Do you insist that they must create their own unique fluff to go with their own scheme and stick rigorously to it? Do you vet the fluff of every opponent beforehand? Or do you insist that they must use the generic Stormcast traits? Are they allowed to change them or must they stick with the first one they picked forever because you now associate that rule with their colour scheme?

    See how ridiculous this is?

    100% this!

  2. I am really sorry. I just can’t understand why people are happy? Again new foot troops? Again a new shooting unit? WE HAVE PLENTY AlREADY. Just give them proper rules.

i actually just sold all my Stormcast and try to go with another army. The process of reforging casts that are barley 3 years old is not a way I want to support. I really can’t understand GW strategy here.

    sorry…

Overall, I'm waiting to get a few games in before the sky is falling.  The army is dead or we got literally nothing posts are a bit of hyperbole and theatre which doesn't help adapting to the new rules.

I don’t care if you think this is theatre!

One of the main features this army was build around are discipline point and their unique command abilities.

you don’t need a PHD to realize that this is bonkers and pretty much worse than before, if this main feature doesn’t work anymore.

That was my first thought, but their points are much more in line with the other melee units, and all the ranged units are significantly more expensive. I'm wondering if we might get a more offensive dual-wielding or great weapon melee unit to contrast the spear and shield vindictors. Maybe a unit wielding the axe used on the chariot.

Yes please. Another slogging foot troop for SCE. We don’t have enough😂😂😂

Can we take a moment to talk about how flipping weird it is for a multi-million pound company to give a product to their mates to live stream in full 2 days prior to preorder so that nobody has to actually buy the book.

I never understood why GW is doing this.
full reviews of battletomes and boxes sometimes 2 weeks prior official release.
It always kill the hype for me to the fullest.

  6. I wonder that there are not more discussions around AOS 3 yet.

i mean, if we don’t get a new book or a faq very soon, I think we will have a very hard time competing with all the new command abilities around we are not allowed to use.

Even more surprising that nearly all these warscrolls are terrible and rarely see any use.

A huge amount of insignificant heroes and named characters, usually from multi kits (named + regular), this bloats their hero roster a LOT, while in reality leaving far fewer unique choices and even less actually viable ones for any kind of matched play.

They have a kit building 3 variants of paladins, nobody uses them. They have a kit for building 4 different kinds of dracoth cavalry, yet hardly anyone uses them and so on and so on.

Also 30+ warscroll battalions, that nobody uses...

In reality it is easy for them to make many kits, as it is the same basic dudes being copy pasted with slight variations in equipment and only very few are viable for even half competitive matches right now. This leaves other armies with more actual meaningful choices when building an army, with more visual diversity and more interesting gameplay mechanics as well, yet the "quantity envy" still goes strong.

Envy quality, not quantity :) (that said the new Stormcast models sure are quality imo, so rules will be less of an issue for sales)

Are you kidding me? I wrote the exact same and said that everything is redundant and has no role. Now we receive even more units ofbthe same type. I was bashed and you get many hearts and upvotes. 😂😂😂

The tome actually has a bit of a problem clearing big blocks of low save units

Ahem, Grave guard? They blend pretty much everything. A block of twenty toss out potential 80 damage?!

  9. They have a 5+ and 4+ with shields.
    not +6.

sure, hearthguard are more tankier and I do agree that the mortal on hit roles are much bigger than on to wound.
however, we are talking about a significant point decrease here.

for me the grave guard is probably the best infantry unit in the game right now. Especially at this point range.

  10. I really don’t understand how one can be hyped for SCE?

more totally redundant infantry and elite infantry. How many infantry troops do we have now? 40? And look at those warscroll profile.  This is awefull!

And they clearly said that this whole Box is limited so it will be sold after 2 seconds.
come on GW! I am so angry that they always get away with this because their fans are so loyal.

Give reasoned arguments why a model shouldn’t pay more than 20 PPW, none of which you tried to deconstruct. He’s a big beat stick which will be hard to get into combat and then 2+ save and anti spell are his only special defensive features. As I pointed out nearly every top build can drop him fairly easily.

now yes if you are playing an army with few screens and low MW or higher than rend 1 output you will struggle vs him but that’s true facing a lot of armies.

You said 360 points. And I don’t need to give arguments.

At 360 points Kragnos would be bloody OP, over and out! If you don’t see this, discussing this would be useless.
