    The Glotkin.

What are everyone's thoughts on the dynamic trio?

Not to poison the well but I think they are to swishy.  There stats are great but some things can just kill a 20 wound model with a 4+ armor and a 5+ ward save.

I feel they need more serviviblity: ten more wounds.  Keep them distinct from the other Nurgle lords and Keep them at 700 points but with 30 wounds now all the Nurgle numbers are happy.

Thoughts? feelings? Am I the only one worried that using this really cool model is making me a bit of a chump?

They either need to drop 100pts or gain some tankiness as you said.

I have not tried it, but it really seems like a typo. Otherwise, the summoning points just ramp up so incredibly fast with number of trees. You could probably build a list that could summon a GUO every two rounds or so no problem, which just seems like too much.

Definitely feels like a typo but it's why I was wondering if anyone tried it just for sciences.

Can't get games in my area again currently but the 1 point per tree which costs 9 to summon also feels really over costed.

And this is helping with the gaming experience how?

Did you play 40k before the big reboot? It was ****** awful and the product of each new book creeping on the last.

Books need to not try to match the previous best or the game goes to complete ******. If smashing face at tournament is your ideal gaming experience go play the meta book?

Then all the more reasons for me to doubt their competence and/or "equitableness" towards various factions. I do not think I have ever witnessed massive points nerf on models that are yet to be released, let alone accumulate enough data on competitive scenes.

So instead they release them at the original points, people go buy huge armies then get nerfed AFTER they've spent there money only to cop even more backlash. Doing it this way is actually worse for a business than doing it afterwards which could potenatially lead to mroe sales but more backlash

Everyone knew they were about to be a ridiculous army, they were going to get toned down at some point and GW did the polite thing.

I guess theres just no winning with wargamers people are just going to whinge and moan no matter what it seems

The new tome is in December, if it is delayed till march or later that would be a huge disappointment haha

I don't see that happening though, maybe models could be delayed that long like the dragons but I am sure the tome would not be.  The announcement was close enough to December I am sure the tomes are already printed and likely on there way out to the various GW warehouses around the globe (if not already there)

Must of missed the December announcement 😅

Just assumed it got the 'coming soon' treatment

  6. Morning

I haven't followed the competitive scene at all in 3.0 just wondering are maggotkin an army that can reliably go 4-1 or 5-0 in an event.

Prepping for a big event in March and wanted to start early. I know the new book is coming but there seems to be a resonable chance that it won't arrive by then either.

Did you do the full list with Belakor and the untamed beasts? Because that would be pretty tempting if there wasn't a roided out belakor around the corner.

Nah mine was based around stuff I could paint in time/what I had. For some reason I own 12 varanguard at Australian prices 🤢🤢

6x varanguard (general) 6" pile in

    3x varanguard

    Sorc lord

    Chaos Lord

    15x warriors

    20x marauders

    5x. Knights

    Warshrine

    Plaugetouched

The 15 wars  are tanky but do nothing back. The marauders are nice for the points. I can definately see how untamed beasts significantly improve things.

I wanted one drop as it was the big thing when I used to play however I definitely didn't need it

  8. Went to a 5 game event a couple weekends ago with empty throne. The list is quite powerful tbh
    3w 2L
Should of been 4-5 wins (obviously would of changed match ups),but I havent played in 18+ months and made some really silly mistakes

Beat maw krusha/pig ork list, new DoK  and Ogres.

Lost to  gargants on the 6 objective 2nd player removes one mission. I messed up my positioning at the end lost by 1-2 points and just didnt have the bodies to take a 30 wound objectve off the big guy and the gargant unit had 1 wound left. Silly silly mistake but live and learn.

Loss vs teclis netlist (teclis, big guy, archers, stone hammers etc you've all seen it before). Got a first turn teleport charge into archers then pile in 6 into teclis with the 6 varanguard, got him to 2 wounds and completely forgot I had warshrine re-rollls. Probably would of won with a turn 1 dead teclis but just got whittled away by mortals afterwards

was good fun though and this list definately can compete with some of the stronger stuff

I like the one with the cogs...

the regents could summon in 40 ghouls for objectives, once the RTGs did their job.

But both are pure meme lists, pretty tricky to pull off...but fun

Yeah they are quite meme lists but it's unfortunately all I have completely painted 😣

Busy work over the last couple years have ruined my painting lol

  10. Hello all just looking for some advice

I have an event coming up and haven't been able to finish my new army so falling back on what I actually have. I know its not super competitive but happy to just go and roll some dice.
Just looking for some tips between the two lists both are gristlegore

I have enough painted models for some summons but not enough to run a large crypt horror style list i see talked about

    GKoTG
    GKoZG
    Archregeant
    x3 RTG

    vs

    GKoTG
    2 x Archreagent
    3x RTG
    Royal menangerie
    Cogs

I wonder if the new Be'Lakor model will be accompanied by a new wave of minis? Maybe we'll finally get a proper resculpt of the chaos warriors and knights.

I'd say given they tend to make him the lad who used daemons in his armies whose jealous of the mortals (dead mortal the base) probs unlikely

Can you clarify this to me : the daemon prince ability now only inflict 1D3 whatever the number of 6 rolled in an attack, correct?

(cause in french, the only modification is no stack and in melee only, oh, in french, nurgle aura works on 6 to hit, insteat of wound, greaaat)

That's correct, might as well put it on the shelf until the next book

Yeah, I don't understand the wording and reasoning for this change at all.

So you choose a keyword for your varanguard units, then the battalion allows you to override it before the battle starts?

    Or am I missing something?

Nope that's how i read it as well, left wondering why anyone would ever pay points for this?

  14. No mixed weps on varanguard
No mixed weps on chaos warriors
    Archaon 2x 6s each attack
Nurgle daemon prince nerfed into basically being useless, expected but a shame

And am i reading correctly that the overlords of chaos doesn't give you double circles just lets you re-pick for a huge point cost?

Did a mid teir book really need to be further stomped on?

If you play Archaon and 3x3 Varanguard the battalion is a waste of points (exept for the Deployment Drop and 1 CP) because you will already have the Cirlce rule with "Host of the Everchosen". I think the "Overlords of Chaos" Battalion is for the case that you want to use 3 units of Varanguard and use the cirlce rule in a Ravagers, Cabalists or Despoilers army.

I was reading it that you would get two circles?

    Is that incorrect?

Hey, what's with the chaos warrior war scroll having options for halberds, great weapons, banners, hornblowers etc. when the kit doesn't come with any of that? I understand they want to accommodate people with the old kit, but isn't the tradeoff of having weapon loadouts on the new kit which people can't actually use worse?

Is there any clue that these are the only chaos warrior kit that is coming? Looking at the sprue, they're disappointingly lacking in customisation.

From what I understand talking to my local manager (based on their product brief)

The new warriors are monopose and the old set + resin weapons(yuck) are staying as range items.

Very weird way of doing it and id rather buy more expensvie start collecting 10 mans and convert some 2h weps

The kits in the start collecting are mono-pose.

I'm hoping that the full fat box will have the various options in.

According to the most recent brief there isnt going to be one, however, we all know the store managers aren't told a lot so I'm hoping its still out there

We only have the one on foot on the Image ;)
    From what the internet says:
Weapons: Chaos Sword gains now Rend -1. Added a new Flail Profile (6x 2" 4+/4+ Rend: -2 Damage: 1) that can be used in alternative to the Reaperblade. Both, Reaperblade and Flail, cause Mortals on a 6+ to hit(propably unmodified). Mark of Chaos: Slight change as Unmarked is a Mark for its own now. CA: As mentioned: Single unit within range may fight twice.

Changing into Spawn/DP is gone. Reaperblade 2W6 Damage Ability is gone. Mark of Chaos Auras that were inherited into the Lord once are gone, propably shifted into the Alligience Ability.

That CA seem's quite fun on Archaon O_o

I was honestly surprised that GW didn't release a "darkoath warband" specifically for Warcry. It would seem like a perfect match. However I think the Darkoath might have a shift from being a warband through to being a ruling class of Chaos. More in tune with their Chaos Masters and thus believing in one of the Four; rather than the warbands who might not even realise that they are servants of Chaos itself (remember whilst the Warcry game takes place in the Eightpoints, the majority of those Warbands come from nations well outside of that realm. Untamed Beasts in Ghur might well have no real concept of their worship of Chaos through their own God's persona.

Im hoping they replace the marauder kit with a darkoath style marauders
