the one in the back seemed like a different (smaller) model due to an photoshop fail ^^

The one in the back of the line is a goregrunta sergeant. Overall the pigs in the line look smaller because theyre in a trench and farther from the camera

    Why though ?

Also how did the Book end up in the Mortal Realms ? It wasn't destroyed when WFB blew up ?

Everything was destroyed when the Old World blew up... Then GW realized their blunder and snapped their fingers, and all kinds of old characters, races and plot points magically recoalesced into this jumble of tangled portals we now call the mortal realms.

I DO have a theory as to why.....

Personally I now think that Chaos won when the old world was destroyed, and all the souls of the Old World were captured by Chaos. The "Mortal Realms" as well call them are just a pocket dimension of Hell that the Demons use as a plaything to torment all the souls who died in the old world, Sigmar included. Its just a big fishbowl, with the chaos gods looking in and laughing :) Every now and then they sprinkle in some "hope" in some form or another, just to cause greater torment and suffering.

    Now if that ain't grim-dark, I don't know what is :)

What about Mawtribes? The highlighting is pretty bright (frost?) and there's a wierd shape coming off the skeleton's shoulder that might be ice?

Possibly.. but Ogor weapons are usually more crude, with the heads lashed to the shaft instead of socketed. Also often have extra spikes on the side and a harpoon vibe.

I think the FEC players will be dissapointed. This spear may be nicked and scratched, but it doesnt shot the pitting that all the Death Faction weapons have. It also has a different base, where the blade attached to the ferule. Nor does it match any of the crude designs from ironjawz, Kruelboyz of Gitz. .

The blades well made, but worn. and impales a skeleton. I'm guessing Chaos. Its also impaling the skeleton in a very ritualistic/torturous manner, which is in par for Chaos. Perhaps a scenic base piece, a spear on a chariot/war machine, or most likely, a Warcry band.

  5. So I noticed that the Troll King has his own dawnbringer crusade box where he's packaged with what looks like 6 other rockgut troggoths. In the Nova presentation the presenteres mentioned that the Ironjaws Mawgrunta would appear in one of the dawkbringer books and there was a detatchment to allow an all pig army. I wonder if the Big Pig will get a simmilar dawnbringer box treatment, with a half dozen gruntaz included?

low armor Brute berserkers - CHeck

Waagh energy infused Brutes - Check

    A new buffing/casting unit (blacksmith) - CHeck.

OK, it looks like Christmas came early for me this year. Many of my Ironjaw dreams came true.

And Congrats to the Ogor Players, hopefully those Gorgers will eventually get their own box.

I hope so. We are now at 21 weeks without a solve. The problem is that there's nothing that looks like marines or Ironjawz. There's a bunch that are probably FeC which probably aren't being shown tomorrow and there are several which seem to be Kroot which also probably aren't being shown tomorrow.

    21 weeks!! egad!

I stumbled across this guy from the inquisitorial henchmen earlier this week, I remember a bunch of speculation about a rumor engine that matches the the weapon he's holding. I had assumed that the community had caught it, but if not here:

It seems the named hero will be "Megaboss on foot size", so maybe not an Ardboy hero (we'll already have one). :)

Well thats interesting.... Combat hero then? Perhaps has a ward save do to his armor repair skills? Perhaps a "Lord in Iron" type sculpt, with a megaboss covered head to toe in heavy plate.

Or..... Could we be getting a MEGA-chanter, who inspires the troops by banging out a marching beat on his anvil?

So much design space to play with, hopefully its not just- megaboss with better defense/worse offense-

It is part of the new Orruk hero. It seems it is a blacksmith Ironjawz hero

Blacksmith ironjaws hero? Well the squig does look like an anvil. A blacksmith could be a neat buffing hero I guess, but if its using an anvil, that implies a hammer, which makes me think its an ardboyz hero. I will give GW some credit though, if they actually remember their own lore and make the blacksmith a big, burly brute with clenched fists, that pounds the armor plates into shape with his fits.  :)  And if it does so on the head of a weird squig, so much the better.

I swear to Behemat all Ogor releases need to match this scale. That is the most lore accurate Ogor height we have yet seen in mini form.

Far taller than a man but much shorter than a Gargant. I really hope these -'Warhulks' set the standard because if they had a belly they would be perfect. Heck they might just be the best Ogor minis yet and theyre not even for the Faction!!

The ogor scale is great, but I still cant get over the human sized crow's nest on their backs. It would take a quadruped the size of an elephant to move comfortably with that, and the leverage of having it up on a pole is even worse.  I can imagine the horrid grinding sounds that Ogor's knees are making as it tries to walk under that load. :)

Are these ogors the same scale as the Hero Ogor from cursed City? I think he may be a bit smaller than these guys. I really like that sculpt, he appears regularly in my D&D campaign as a half-ogre mercenary.

  11. anyone catch this miniature on the warhammer community home page? Its a thumbnail for the warhammer+ article. The figure does not appear in the article, but it was on the homepage as a thumbnail for some reason. Do the horns match the recent Tuesday rumor thread? I think its one of the Cities of SIgmar Knights, with a different helmet option than I've seen so far, but I could be mistaken. I know that kit has a lot of options on the sprue

Now bear with me on my amazing conspiracy theory. Doesn't this look totally like some mind flayer? Excuse my amazing MS paint edit but I couldn't be bothered to turn on my mac. This kitbash suddenly also wishes to sleep with you in typical BG3 fashion, no matter whether you approve or not. And not just it, the tree stump and whatever that fish is, too!

use the head for an idoneth deepkin conversion on a hero, and model the rest of your force after the great old ones/dagon. actually..im sure someone has already done it. Still a good idea though :)

Im all about some Orruks as people well know!!

We can toss a  gargant in with the ironjaws if you want. Destruction is all about equal opportunity mayhem. Slap on some armor scraps, put a gore-grunta skull on its head like a helmet, paint on some Orruk grafitti, let a few ardboys hang on for a ride, and let it get Krumpin!

    They miss things too. 😉

true, they were more of a distraction than anything else, which is why i'd like to see them come back with terrible shooting, BUT with some sort of debuff they could apply to the target. Like the -2 move/charge the tyranid barbgaunts are currently doing in 40K. Or a formation breaking ability that gives benefits to units charging the archers target. Would pair nicely against the Pavis shield walled new units for CIties of Sigmar.

Just give us something different than Move/Charge/melee attack that is the entire current Ironjawz lineup. Its been 7 years in the making, GW can expand the ironjaws concept a bit.

OORRrr go all in. Give us a naked, tattooed 5 man unit of Orruk Berserkers that have run and charge abilities AND something better than the -1 rend/1 damage attacks that plague ironjaws in general. Orruks that Hit really hard, but are really easy to hit back. 4 wounds a piece, terrible saves, but a feel no pain mechanic.

And Chris Tomlin's Orruk Brute ballista conversions, are what drew me to this website originally back in 2018 . I made a set that sat, sadly retired, until I brought them back into service as proxies when the kruelboys archers came out.

Definitely  something around with charge for the new ardboyz

the flavour text of ard boy big boss contain many times the charge word :

A Hulking New Orruk Boss Leads the Charge

the Ardboy Big Boss is large, and very much in charge.

And remember the text of maw grunta

A single Maw-grunta can smash through massed infantry like a like a boar in a china shop, paving the way for a brutal Ardboys charge.*

Hmm we had assumed the big pig was to synergize with the gore-gruntas, but based on that flavor text and the ardboys hanging all over it, perhaps its all about ardboy synergy.

So we might actually get a box, perhaps a new vanguard style box, focused around ardboys, buffed by a footboss and supported by the big pig. IF they bring back the greenskinz archers, as a 5 man block of "new ardboys" with bows, that might round out that box fairly well. Especially if the archers get some sore of rule like "Disruptive Volley: Pick one unit hit by this ranged attack. Units successfully charging this unit get +1 to hit" or something along similar lines.

Oh glorious days! Ironjawz have not been forgotten about. My fanatical adherence to that army has not been for Naught.

So the next question is.... Individual kits, or all the new stuff locked up in one big box?

  19. I just noticed that the new Bretonian Knight previewed for the old work this past weekend is a resin miniature. Do we know if are all the old world models to be resin? I guess its GW trying to find a use for forgeworld manufacturing equipment, but I was really hoping that the old world stuff would be plastic. Resin feels so old and out of date

Unless its 3d printed resin. That can be really highly detailed. But the durability of plastic is hard to beat.

The bonuses don't tend to be amazing I suspect because they don't want the one player to runaway early in the campaign and increasingly 'out-power' other players on upgrades.

Probably new Ratlings, judging by the pie and grenades.

Its probably scenery or a scenic base for a special release miniature. Between he turkey and the meat pie mixed in with the grenades, I wouldn't be surprised if its part of a new red gobbo christmas miniature.

Regular humans can do this. images(14).jpeg.1eeb8a38bfd9c61ebd8d95564c6fba95.jpeg

I don't think a ten foot Ogor carrying one human in a crows nest is too implausible.

I'm still very much looking forward to seeing what else is to come for cities. I hope we see another full unit next.

Sure, humans (or ogres) can do amazing feats of strength. But lifting things, and actually being able to move about a battlefield effectively are two different things. Now give that guy a sword, a massive shield, and tell him to fight 5 charging opponents while having a top heavy telephone pole strapped to his back. See how well that goes for him.....

Then again, Ogors already have a fire breathing circus performer to go with this apparent strongman, so who am I to judge, perhaps the dawnbringer ogres will all be inspired from carnival acts. 😁

OK, I was looking forward to dawnbringer crusade, but this model is not doing it for me. The crows nest and rider are waaay to big for the ogor. Maybe a goblin or halfling on the ogors shoulder, but a whole crows nest with an adult human,..... Nope, my logic circuits are now cooked. On the back of a Mega-gargant, or even a big normal gargant..OK, but on an ogre... Nope.

Well to each his own :)

Looks like Ill be kit-bashing this one, perhaps placing the gunner kneeling behind the ogor's gigantic palisade shield.

It would certainly make more sense than putting an older/worse version of the same unit back into production concurrently with the new one, and I feel like the previous announcement about base sizes going up was actually less about "dynamic posing" as they claimed and more to accommodate stuff like the new Chaos Warriors (and eventually Saurus Warriors).

Its possible they have warehouses of old stock left over from the end of Warhammer fantasy, and we may just see those older sculpts repackaged for 2024 warhammer fantasy battles. Its a dream come true for any company, who can sell old stock they paid to make in 1990 and sell it for 2024 prices.

But re-using old molds and reproducing old metal and resin fantasy units? seems like a terrible waste of resources, especially for a company that wants to sell little plastic soldiers. So you lure the old guard back with photos of old models, let everyone dust off their old models to play with, then slowly replace each faction with new spiffy plastic models, which people are tempted to buy to upgrade their existing "dated" sculpts.
