    How have they mishandled them?

Announced super far in advance compared to normal releases with no additional previews.

Deliberate misrepresentation of how the miniature lineups would change.

Dodging a question regarding their status with what was either misinformation or a lie.

I'm not going to say it's the worst thing a company has ever done (it's relatively benign), but it's far below GW's normal standards for how they treat releases, and raises a lot of questions.

  2. Since it's known that Arkhan is a part of the new boneboy faction, a path forward for death could be giving each mortarch their own AoSified death faction. Neferata would have something classically vampire, Mannfred might have more bats and wolves and monsters, and then Nagash can stick with Legions of Nagash as a soup book.

That would be a lot of work though. I think one thing that needs to be looked at is how many factions can we realistically expect total in each GA (and consider that Order and Chaos will be bigger than the other two).

  3. Legit floored that they brought Gitmob back for Underworld.

I dont expect them to get a full army release, so maybe this is the start of a new trend where they release warbands not tied to AoS? Or maybe I'm wrong and we really will see a second grot faction.

And hey, if you take off their skin and muscles and blood they're basically tomb kings as well.

Sorry a bit of topic but do we know when the new slaves to darkness book will release and if it will still have units like marauders that can be marked? I just finished converting poxwalkers into nurgle marauders and I'd like to know if I should bother painting them

No word. Not before the next four books at least. Probably not until sometime next year.

Nagash is a senile old ******, he could end up with one of his aspects becoming more prominent and leading  parts of his own forces against himself.

Ignoring the joke, there's plenty of conflict within Death, lots of lesser servants vie against one another in schemes Nagash doesn't care/isn't aware about, it's just that none of them are really against him (directly). You won't catch any orcs trying to cop a jab on Gorkamorka, and none of the Stormcast are going to try to throw hands with Sigmar. I'd like an anti-Nagash Death faction, but I don't think it's as narratively necessary as people make it out to be.

For a topic a bit more on-topic, what kind of roster can we expect for the Tithe army? DoK got one animated trailer and around half-a-dozen units, I don't even remember what the build up to GG was, but they got a fuckload of stuff, the Skeleton IRS has had 3 trailers, can we expect a Nighthaunt/GG level of units?

I think we're looking at, bare minimum, a unique character kit (possibly as a dual kit), a second hero kit, scenery and spells, a new monster kit, a new cavalry kit, and a siege weapon kit. That already puts it on the level of Slaanesh. If we get new skeleton models or additional heroes, monsters and war machines, that's putting us into or even potentially past Gloomspite territory.

As for internal strife, I figure we could easily see that happen one day for Death, however it will take a major story event to knock Nagash down a few dozen pegs.

Given that he's currently acting as the main antagonist, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens sooner rather than later.

  7. It comes down to abilities buffing bravery (IP included) being significantly more powerful than abilities which debuff it. In a game that centers on removing enemy models, this is crucial. You can't have a fight between two walls. There's no comparable ability which turns all save rolls into a six, or offers immunity to mortal wounds or spells. The closest thing I can think of is ethereal providing rend immunity, and even that has a downside associated with it as well.

  8. If it's a friendly game your opponent likely won't care as long as you specify in advance and don't have multiple units kitted differently (which would get confusing). But generally as a rule units can't mix weapon types (there are exceptions).

Mounted/Unmounted Two Heroes kits (GW have already committed a number of horse-cides in the past, so this is likely standard-fare)

Really hope we get some kind of army with horse options in the future. I was kind of hoping against hope that they might actually bring Empire knights back with the book but they're doubling down.

I'm not surprised there's a lot being discontinued. They've been removing some of the older kits whenever they update an old 8th edition fantasy army. The fact that they announced in advanced that they'd be retiring kits this time, is in hindsight, a sign it was going to be a massacre.

Edit: Dragon Blades being discontinued is a surprise for me. They're a very good plastic kit.

It's so people will buy blood knights 🧛‍♂️

Agree, seems like a one week double battletome release to me.

I do really hope this wanderers rumours come true, but I don't see another major release in 2019 after this new death faction.

Given that Wanderers are basically in the same place as StD (updated designs but no solid rumours of a wide release), I'd expect them to be a ways off, especially as CoS is looking to consolidate some of them.

Ok, any ideas when the two new battletomes will hit the web-store for pre-order?

    I specifically am hoping today

I'd be kind of surprised if we don't see terrain or spells for at least the orruks before an order is put up.

  13. I like the idea of United Humans/Elves/Dwarves and think AoS was going this way for a while, but I hope it does eventually get reflected in the models. Like the replacement of old sigils with something else, or a multi racial freeguild guard box or something.

Right now seeing the models together definitely doesn't feel like a united entity.

Of course this won't happen soon, I'm just wish listing for the future.

Otherwise it would be nice if some of the units (wanderers and dispossessed specifically) got expanded to their own factions as well in the  next few years.

I'm not too hot on the name Cities of Sigmar (Free Cities or Free Peoples is 100x better) but it's not "Battletome Aelves" so I'm not gonna riot just yet.

My big concern with this new Battletome is whether this will be a new faction with ongoing support, or is this just going to be "Battletome not-squatted-quite-yet" where none of these factions receive a new model in 20 years.
