Not that I know of, but it doesn't need a FAQ. The phase ends once; anything triggering off that occurs. Then full stop.

Yeah, I am curious that is "the end of the phase" a period of time or just a single moment.

  2. There are some saying that SCE being the faction which has most missle weapons in the game is overpowered, especially the Hurricane.

    What do you think?

  3. The gravesites have the ability to resurrect models in friendly units. Can I bring back models in allied summonable units in this manner as long as they are friendly units though not a part of my allegiance?

I know the core rules suggest that allegiance abilities cannot benefit allied units but the Faq says when an allegiance ability contradicts the core rules, the allegiance ability takes precedence over the core rules.

The same question about the Endless Legion command ability as well.

How do you guys work these out?

I've seen the other guy played this list last week. He replaced the pendulum and palisade with the spell portal.

Damage output was decent as expected.  Incantor with the portal and staff of focus activated was a nuclear bomb, who did 2 mws to each enemy units. With the portal the spell almost covered every enemy units. He did about 14 mortal wounds with this spell alone in a turn, which is super scary.

Purple sun is good at 50. But it is kind of dangerous to friendly units because the range is rather short.

The player that I watched used Celestant-Prime as a hero killer but I prefer to use him as a long range canon. He put him in the sky for two battle rounds.  Prime came down with 7 attacks, did some mortal wounds and charged and killed a Prince Vhordrai and then got eliminated by a spell, which was a fair trade.

The main issue with this list is the low model counts imo.

  5. Since the Chaos horsemen get their point drop, do you think they are excellent for the Blade of Putrefaction now? If they get the magic, they can do mortal wounds in range which is pretty good when facing the attack first armies like HoS and FEC.

One thing I would like is trying with the Prime and another scary unit. I don't know what that is yet maybe going down to mins on the battle line and adding in evocators or something else. For me I'm limited to Sacrosanct and the prime (though randomly I have the vanguard guys to do soulstrike brotherhood). So I'm interested to hear your results. The pallisade should be fun since it can help protect your army some.

The reason that I am taking Sequitors is the new battleplans where only battleline units get to capture the objects.

If you want evocators, go for it, they are still worthy for the points.

I do want to take our magic lists to a competitive level. I've tried Stardrake, Stardrake with Grand Convocation, only Convocation and stacking CW's CA.

They are all good most of the time, but not in a competitive level like skaven big rats and gloomspite gitz.

I think the issue about our spell is that they are all purely damage spells, while the skaven and GG have a bunch of debuff spells.

It's the CW list I am building. Maybe seems a little bit overloaded with Endless Spells, but it's just several of them to choose from.

I decide to put the staff of focus on the Incantor, planning to get her on the vortex, use the staff and CA. That's 2 mws to each enemy units within 24''. Maybe I will bring the spell portal to make her a super nuclear bomb, but the portal seems a bit expansive now.

It's a list filled with AOE from spells and Celestant-Prime. Maybe you can fit in a Heraldor who bring more mws since there will be more terrains according to the new rules.

I'm about to test it this weekend. Must be interesting to play a heavy magic list.

  8. Yeah, I think I'd better make it clear that it is a tournament, not an AoS gathering day or something else. Giving advantage to certain factions doesn't sound like a fair game at all.

Also all models must be in round bases. It's essential apparently.

Since it is a tournament, there is inevitably going to be difference between strong army and less-strong army. I could cope with that.

  9. Big thanks to y'all! Learned so much about organizing an event.

There are several things I can make sure now:

1)Lunch will be severed for free (or at least at a fairly low price).

2)Paintings will not be included when working out the overall, for attracting new players, while we do have other awards for paintings.

3)Time for every turn will be restricted in order to save time.

And I have to learn to use some tools of tournament management mentioned above. They seem to be essential if I want to make the event more accessible.

But I've come to another problem. Lots of players at my places own a bunch of WFB armies, such as Dispossessed, High Elf, Bretonnia who are less competitive nowadays. I was looking forward to the GHB to see if GW would make some changes to these older factions, sadly there is none as it comes out. If we are to get them into the event, it is inevitable to adjust certain rules or there would be no enjoyment for these factions except the memory of getting tabled by FEC or Dok.

What do you think of this? Currently we are considering letting less-competitive factions to have up to 400 extra points. Is it practical?

  10. There is going to be a tournament in my local a few months later, actually the first tournament to be. And I, humbly, am one of the organizers.

The tournament is aiming to attract as many players as possible to enjoy the game. We are sending invitations to other clubs too, hoping AoS players of the whole area could participate in the event.

But since our club are a fairly new one and none has organized a tournament before, there is going to be some problems when deciding certain tournament rules, such as the painting requirement and houserules about double turn and summoning.

So I think I might ask someone who has held an event or has been to a tournament for advice.

Is there any particular houserule in the tournaments you have been to or held?

All sorts of advice and experience will be greatly appreciated!
