So are bloodletters now inferior to Reavers and Warriors as a battleline choice? And on that note, are reavers better than warriors? Or do warriors still have a place?
-
Would a Cygor be worth it for Blades of Khorne brass despoilers? The anti magic is very Khorne, and more ranged is very welcome.
-
So how good are the endless spells? Are they worth bringing in? They look neat but I wanna save the money if they dont hold up.
-
Just from looking at its warscroll you can see the flaws. In a game of MW spam, you could EASILY bring that thing down with the rest list. It would be a stupid easy fix too. Kind of an oversight to not give such a big model more defense, but being Khorne it may have been by design.

There are objectives? 😆
Yeah, it's called your opponent's army!

For Brass Despoilers are Bestigors really still the best choice? Against Order they already get a reroll of 1s to hit, where as Gors and Bullgors would be able to take better weapons/shields and retain their ability usually granted by duel weapons.

I'd think a Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirster would probably deal with skeletons better, in my opinion. The chance to spew out mortal wounds on 6s can help a lot with blowing through chaff.

Hi, I'm running a mortal khorne army and am thinking about adding a brass despoiler batallion (warherd only). Anyone have suggestions for buffs/characters to add that can impact the beastmen?
So far I've got the bloodsecrator and slaughterpriest.
The Blood Stoker also works as it just needs the Khorne keyword. Otherwise thats about all you get.

Aaah, alright makes sense!

That's not quite what the FAQ says - what it changed is each specific table isn't limited to a type of Khorne hero but each one of the tables still specifically tells you who can or cannot equip it. Basically it means you don't need a mortal khorne hero for murderous artifacts or a demon khorne hero for demonic weapons. However you still have to be a Khorne Mortal Hero to take a murderous artifact. A beastlord or doombull does not qualify.
So how exactly does that change anything then? If you still need to be a mortal khorne hero to take a mortal khorne hero artifact, then why change the wording at all? The pre-reqs are still all needed if that's the case.
-
It was FAQed that they only need the Khorne keyword, in homogenizing the three sets of gear they inadvertently also allowed Beasts of Chaos to benefit, as far as I can tell.
-
But I CAN give my Doombull/Beast Lord a relic from Khorne book, right?
-
What if I play the Despoilers as a section of a Blades of Khorne army? Can I still take a BoC relic?
-
For Brass Despoilers, should I absolutely go for Beastlord if I am running Bestigors and Gors, or can I run a Doombull just for the pure damage output of the beast?

How can I see this?
Warhammer TV will probably have a archive of past streams you can peep.

The part where I said allying it in at the very start of the comment, under the quote from the other user where he mentioned the Shaman. Don't have a cow, man.
Bloodreavers also get the +1 to run and charge from their Hornblower, but yes run+charge is always great. I don't see it being absolutely necessary, though, because from experience you usually don't need it. I'll admit I'm biased in this whole debate as I'm painting 40 Bloodreavers right now and I'm bloody well going to use them.
That said, Bestigors are brutal as a unit of 30, even unbuffed. If I was just getting into the hobby I would be seriously looking at them instead of Bloodreavers, but you have to dance with who brung ya as they say.
My apologies, didn't see you specified 'ally'. But either way, to me I wouldn't even bother allying in Beastmen. That rerolling and keyword synergy that you get from brass despoilers more than fills in the gaps. A unit of Great axe bullgors rerolling 1s to hit and ALL wounds is absolutely terrifying, let alone after adding all the buffs you can get off of the Secretor, Stoker and Priests.

So what did they change exactly? I cant find the new khorne changes anywhere

You're still allying in a Shaman. Shaman's still a wizard. I don't fault anyone for doing whatever they have to do to win, but my Khorny bois stay magic free. Besides at that point why not just play Beasts of Chaos?
What part of "none of these options use magic" you not seeing?

Not against Nighthaunts, Bonesplitters, Daughters of Khaine, Fyreslayers
Bullgors do like a 1/4 of the damage, that bloodletters could do without buffs
You don't need to move your bloodthrister faster, than your letters, if you don't have Crimson Crown on him. The list is ok though, good screen capacity against deepstrike and holding an enemy
Except...No? Bullgors with Great Axes do more damage than equal points of Bloodletters with no buffs, and also have more rend, movement and basically ignore morale. 7 attacks at 4 hit 3 wound on bullgors vs 11 attacks at 4 hit 3 wound on letters...but Bullgors got 3 damage per unsaved wound, and have more rend. Where did you get your math from?
*edit
I did some more math, and if you gice the Bloodletters the boon of being a unit of 30 and then equal the points by giving Bullgors another 3 models...Its still only a damage difference of 1 wound extra for the Letters. For a giant blob that probably wont make it all into combat, with a weaker save, and less movement.

Far as I can tell, Bullgors/Doombulls and Beastigors are pretty good in Khorne. They add bodies, and generally speaking are different enough from Warriors and Reavers to reasonably add them.

Tzeentch and Nurgle/ Khorne and slaanesh are the main enemies, but Tzeentch and Khorne are still kinda...Iffy. They DO ally from time to time, but it almost always ends in betrayal, either from Tzeentch being Tzeentch or Khorne not being capable of not challenging someone to martial combat for more than 0.0048 seconds.

So ive made myself a Brass Despoilers sub-list of bulls and bestigors, id like to know if there are any other units than Bloodsecretors, Stokers and Priests that can buff the Beastmen? All the others as far as I recall need Daemons or Mortals.
-
Aaah gotcha. Okay ill keep that in mind! I got him along side an old Doombull, 10 Bestigors and 3 Shamans (all old 2003 metal) for only about 60 USD, so if I just use the Bull as my hero slot and religate the standard guy to be my Bestigor icon holder, that still works (and looks better than the normal icon)
-
What stops me from running him in Despoilers? You can run Gors, Bestigors, and Wargors in that formation. It isnt JUST warherd.

A tournament list without daemons is largely using Gore Pilgrims...In fact, even a Daemon heavy list STILL brings Gore pilgrims. Atm, it's a must.
For the rest of your stuff, some Skullreapers are also really good atm, and so are Khorne lords on Juggernauts. Just be warned that the new book is coming out this year, and that may all change.
