I assume it's worded that way because the opponent might get to control it like normal endless spells. Super risky if you're up against a combat army.
Same with the simulacrum. Since the vast majority of the tzeentch army will be wizards it'll be super risky to have on the board. You get 3 mortal wounds on an enemy unit, then the opponent turns it around next turn and puts 5 into the wizard that cast it. Kind of like a chaos player bringing the quicksilver swords actually.
We need to see the full wording, but I think there is a pretty high chance that it follows all of the recent tomes where the negative effects dont' affect <Keyword>

well the point is that for the week between the pre-order going up and the new Battletome/Warscrolls/Points/Rules etc being officially available to everyone and 'in use' people playing with their armies under the old Battletome/Warscrolls/Points/Rules etc can still play with current army whilst using the app.
I guess that makes sense at least, though I think it's still a bit annoying.

I like the tome a lot, the permanent loss of leadership can be pretty crux depending on what army you are playing. I just hope it's not super expensive.

Dakka is really good for 40k content. Lots of good stuff going on there.
Avoid the AoS section on Dakka though. There are a few people there that just bring down the entire AoS section with absurd negativity.

You can’t cast Bolt of Tzeentch twice per turn in matched play.
I’d actually run Kairos as-is in Guild of Summoners. What kind of revamp are you looking for?
Yeah? That's kind of the point of my post to be able to cast more than once...
EDIT: Upon re-reading my post I can see how it could be otherwise interpreted, but I figured the context was enough. I want Bolt of Tzeentch to become a signature style spell and be able to cast it more than once.

One thing I would like to see is for more "signature" style spells that we can cast more than once. Bolt of Tzeentch for example.
I also am hoping Kairos gets a major revamp on his scroll.

I wouldn't worry about the LoC summoning that much. it's not like a KoS, you don't gain near much value by having more than one on the field unless their warscroll drastically changes.

Tzeentch is looking really good so far.
The hidden agendas seem really neat, can add up to be some nice little bonuses throughout the game.
Just two days until the full preview!

It's only Tuesday they might reveal that on Thursday. Don't forget there's a good chunk of the week still go to before they go up for pre-order and then a whole week before they actually go on sale. So there's plenty of time for GW to get a few articles on both out into the wilds.
I mean, yeah, I didn't mean to imply that I think it wasn't going to come out at all if it wasn't out today. Just normally they have the faction focus up the first two days, then dive into paint schemes/lore/spells and other stuff the rest of the week.

Is there no faction focus for Tzeentch today? Seems like the articles are normally out by now.
-
Pretty unhappy missing out on the terrain, that's a powerful asset missing.
I hope the power of the tome makes up for it, and the endless spells are actually good.
-
I am pretty shocked for no new terrain for either. This faction terrain inconsistency is pretty obnoxious.

I SO want Stalkers to be battleline. I'd even take the terrible Vokmortian if I could get stalker battleline.
Yeah, that would be very cool. I thought early on one of the reasons they didn't allow more battleline types was that it would throw off the balance too much. Low and behold our battleline is one of the strongest things in the book so it turns out an ability making Stalkers battleline probably would not have disrupted anything at all.
-
Does anyone think we are going to get some special bonus' to endless spells? I really like the OBR soul-linked, and I think that would be really cool. Some kind of bonus like that to all endless spells we cast would be really neat. I am hoping for a "Legion" that specializes in doing stuff with endless spells

"There are plenty of wargames and boardgames out there that are pretty close to balanced and are not boring at all."
You never answered my question. What wargame is considered balanced and not boring at all by more than a handful of people? My criteria is that you aren't going to throw some unknown game published by Osprey that has like 20 people that play it that find it fun.
You're asking me what a majority of people are but are trying to say that there are plenty of wargames that are pretty close to balanced that are not boring at all. What are they?
Because if you're trying to say that people actively crave and want balance, and there are *plenty* of wargames that have this level of balance, I would expect that GW games would have very few players. But thats obviously not the case.
Some popular games right now that people in my area play that are considered pretty well balanced are Infinity, Kings of War, and a new one called Conquest.
Secondly, I never said anywhere that people crave and want balance, I said it is a silly notion that you think a game cannot be both balanced and not boring.
Thirdly, you are being clearly disingenuous with your GW comment. You know just as well as I do that there is a litany of reasons why GW has the largest market share, one of them being that they have the largest marketshare.

There were sources posted at the time it came out, and it was common knowledge. A video from the writers saying it was finished and ready while Gloomspite was still being pieced together, which perfectly explains all the discrepancies between it, and the books released immediately before and after it.
Do you have a link to that Video or a Link to any of these sources when it came out?

Can you give some examples specifically of wargames that are balanced that have a good population and where it is not considered boring by a majority of people?
So are we adding additional criteria now, the game has to have a good population as well? What is a "Good" Population? Does it have to be regional, global, etc? Also, what is "Majority of people? Do you want a quorum across North America?
You can't expect to be taken seriously on this, when you are just going to throw as much "criteria" to fit your narrative is possible.

The reason for this is that GW completed and sat on the GHB months before relese. It was finished before books they released before it.
Do you have a source for this? Otherwise it's just conjecture.
That being said, I do think that' s likely the case, which is more toward my point that just because they didn't make updates in the GHB does not mean there will not be updates in the upcoming tome.

Tell that to the skaven bombardier, arch revenant and other box set heroes. Its been almost 11months for the skaven and FEC, 6 for Sylvaneth.
I think we've already beat him with this deadhorse enough at this point haha.

Do a poll somewhere asking competitive players what they want. Most want listbuilding to play a heavy hand in the game and how we play. Very few competitive players talk about how they want the game to be perfectly balanced so only skill decides who wins. A great many however will argue against people griping about points and any time there is a topic about points being balanced, you will see them jump in about how boring the game would be if 2000 points matched up equally against 2000 points.
So no I don't think my opinion is naive at all.
I also don't think everything is about competitive play. Everything as far as I am concerned is about competitive play, but that doesn't mean I think everything overall is about competitive play.
I think it's a pretty silly notion that balancing the game would end up making it boring, there are plenty of wargames and boardgames out there that are pretty close to balanced and are not boring at all.

They should really just have it as an auto-ability at this point. All of the OBR healing is either just rolls like the Harvester, or for free with the Boneshaper/Arkhan.
I'd like to see a unique allegiance ability like "Spectral Ranks" Add 1' to all Nighthaunt weapon range. I think that would be cool and simulate the ethereal nature of being able to phase through an attack without the issue of bodies getting in the way.
I still think the Tome needs a full rewrite to really fix anything. Anything we add would just be a temporary band-aid. We really need most of the tome rewritten to fix a lot of the poor units, the summoning, multiple legions, and other things.

Well, they'll release him in a few months for sure by himself.
A few months? We still haven't seen the characters from Carrion Empire and that was in March...
It looks like the wait is at least a year at this point.

Someone in the rumor thread made a good point that neither of these forces have battleline in box, which is unusual for these. This makes me think we may get some ways to have Skyfires or Enlightened as Battleline, maybe with the new character?

I am sure it is costed this way because the bravery loss is permanent. That can end up being pretty huge.
