Due to waiting on parts for the steam tanks (mainly rod and tube for the hinges on the tracks), I've started in on my Commanders Body Guards, the Cog Knights (GreatSwords)
Still have lots of work to do on him. need to add a tube or two and some armor. So one 3/4 of the way done..... 19.25 to go.

Your building speed and quality are so impressive. Definitely have been watching this thread with interest. Nice job.
Speed? Sure, demented devotion to working on styrene yes. Thanks!

Thanks, I have to say I love working with it.
So update, Works been keeping me really busy, also caught a cold. I've been spending most of the weekend coughing and hacking but well I got loads of work done on the new steam tanks:
Now I know it looks like I did a lot of work but I've also made loads of jigs so this was rather fast.
All three of the steamtanks together.
Now this army in Age of Sigmar is going to be a Greywater Fastness Army, I'm thinking of running their artillery Battalion, thus I need some field guns, I know its not that same as WW1 gun but hey its been fun working on the concept model:

Right I know I am working fast on the this project but I started the paint job:
The Commander(his arm broke off when I dropped him they're going to be painting separately and glued together once I got the turret done:
And the next modeling project.... I want 3 more steam tanks... the worst part of the build was the track... so I set out today for an hour to make the "prefect" track:
........ Then comes the Silicone for resin

Right, so I think this model has been my obsession for the past 5 days of free time. That being said I was sick for a day or two (actual sickness the fever and chills the whole 9 yards) so all in I think I sunk somewhere around 15-20 hours total in this project. Phase 1 the build is complete now I will hopefully spend the next couple of weeks painting it as I am slower painter, also don't own an airbrush yet.
The "completed" Build:
Close up on the storage of 2 additional tracks and wheels/cogs:
Right now its disassembled for painting, 4 parts, knight turret, hull and base.
And I noticed I got some nice Vallejo Grey Pumice I can use for the base, the reason for the white strips (plasticard / polystryene) to show a "sinking" of the tank into the dirt. I built up the pumice to make no place where a hard transition so it will look like mud and dirt.

Looking good. You have a lot more patience than I!
and those cogs were a good find.
Thanks, and yeah I got patience but also doing track in assembly line is fast, still it took 6-7 hours of effort.
Right the assembly line:
I got a chop-it mark 2 that I used to cut all the parts so they are very similar in size. Also tweezers and lots of glue.
Right I stopped work tonight and here is where I stopped, lots of detailing needed but I'm getting close to completion.
Close up on the turret hatch and Tank Knight:
This guy is going to be a simple Steamtank, I have a plan for a Steam Tank Commander but that is later.

Fantastic work so far 👍
Thanks! I do admit I my hobby projects sometimes run on praise, so thanks again!
Update..... I had to go to a place I hate, walmart, I found loads of Steampunk Plastic Gears in the button area, I got enough for I think 2 full tanks, and I'd still have enough for more things, and for those wondering 10USD total, super cheap.
And 3 hours of "roughing out" a track assembly turned into this:

Interesting project! A few years ago I made a steam tank for my Stirland empire based on the skaven doombell chassis but I've been thinking along the same lines as you about a more outlandish cogfort type contraption.
Thanks, I have been thinking of using some skaven parts but right now I am liking the way its turning out. Also I love looking at cog forts conversions did you make one?

Thanks! Your Project has been a real inspiration!
So while I think over the wheels I've been detailing, adding the cannon and starting the riveting proccess:

Sir Owen, Knight Commander of the Iron Bretonnian 5th, opened the hatch on his steed Glorious to survey the battlefield. Before them. The chaos foot troops arrayed ahead had dug in awaiting the coming Steam Tank Charge. Know the time was now before their earth works could be completed he called the charge.
This is going to be an Army Build Log for my new army “The Iron Bretonnians”
So to answer the Rules Questions:
This is a Cities of Sigmar, Grey Water Fastens Army, I plan on heavy conversions and scratch builds.
The List I am Aiming for :
Leaders
Steam Tank W/ Commander
Battline:
3 Steam Tanks
Other:
OutRiders
Other stuff that strikes my fancy.
Original Post:
So with the new Cities of Sigmar book, I will admit when I joined the wargaming community I started with Imperial Guard Tanks, I wanted to build a gun line army based around the steam tank. I'm going to aim for ww1 or wild west feel of tech level max. Right now I got a big boiler and smoke stack, next is going to be the track and wheel assembly, not sure how, I think I might use buttons this time.
Well the start:
I might go "Iron Bretonnians"...... sounds fun... sounds really fun.....
Comments and Questions welcome.

So from the OP is it safe to assume you are planning to runn them with the Idoneth Cards for Warcry ?
If yes, then its nice way to bring back some of the old flavor! At least if you dont fancy yourself being a giant, bloodsucking, bat monstrosity who thinks themselves noble knights
I am hoping we get more older faction cards. I would to to see BoC Warband for example.
I have to totally agree I'd Love to see a Bretonnian Warband our local group has though of making some simple rules but Idoneth Warcry warband really works well. I run 3 "Pegasus Eels" and 4 Archers don't win a lot but I have so much fun losing.
So its been a while, I've been busy and well lazy. Today I did some work, now I know they look like snot rockets, but trust me its water effects.
To be exact, Vallejo Water Texture:
I found a cool base building tutorial I am going to try and incorporate into their bases.
Here is the tutorial, its not mine I am just using it:

Airbrushed? Also the colors are amazing, I like the bright colors usually when I see this guy (some locals have the bone gaint?) its usually dusty and kind of muted.

This is so cool! I love the bases you have built and the Cawdor body looks great when all put together!.
Thanks I saw another conversion of them for mordihem that's where I got the idea.
So Small update, for this months painting challenge I am doing a Bretonnian Pegasus Knight:
He's in pieces right now to make painting him easier:
And I finish 4 archers to join my Warcry unit:
Custom Banner of the Lady for my foot troops:

Right sorry for a "double post" but well I want to get some models done.
So update, I got done cleaning (I know I could go deeper but I want to start painting a Pegasus)
His head is new not sure where the other one went. I also built up the base, don't worry there is a brass rod core, and the grey white stuff is Vallejo Grey Pumice which will look like sand for the water effects I plan on doing.
Also I started in on an Archer for my warcry band and I got say I am liking it. The core model is a Necomunda Cawdor soldier, Bow is from High Elf archers and the head is a bretonian Man at arms I had laying around.

Thanks! I hope to get this thing farther along. I think I might try and go full 1,000 point army one of these days.

Right so I got reinforcements via ebay! They're still soaking in simple green to strip the paint.
Also as for why I've been a bit quite I'm actively remodeling my house / tiny home which took a bit almost done, one of the things I did was build a better modeling table also I kind of organized my tools, as I am also a scratch builder.

Right So from the Title of the thread, it's a Bretonnian Warcry Band. Now the first question is what Warcry band? Well Idoneth Deepkin get weird sky Eels...... hummm things that fly..... knights..... Pegasus Knights? Also.... archer infantry.... hummm Bowmen? So my plan is 3-4 Knights, and 1-4 Bowmen. I know horrible list, probably going to loose a lot but I love Bretonnian Questing Armies so we're doing it. Ebay is supplying the Pegasus, their in the mail right now but I have loads of bits and want to get started, so I built some knights from parts I have laying around, they're a mix of empire, bretonnians, goblins, Imperial guard, etc....
I began with building my "Lord" Knight:
While I wait on pegasus, I actually built a BSB or Battle Standard Bearer:
The standard s plasticard, brass rod and some greenstuff. Then I spent this weekend painting somewhere around 9-12 hours of painting work:
I'm trying to press my painting skill, also using a crappy phone camera.
Comments welcome, Also Thanks for looking & Reading.
