  1. I do wonder if these supply chain issues, especially with the books, might push GW into a new format for releasing battletomes and codex. If the rumors of Warhammer+ not doing well are to be believed, perhaps they would see an opportunity to switch the narrative and tie those releases into warhammer+ in the app.

People need to understand not to buy into the hype, keep your expectations low, that way you're never disappointed. I got tired of being baited ages ago.

So when it comes to previews they just like to pad out a whole hour usually and do like... four previews and one extra hint at the end that barely shows anything. That's been their thing for awhile now.

With yeah, but even Im a little disappointed and I was pretty conservative xD.

Really would have liked to see a tome teaser if anything, or a bit of narrative stuff even if small.

Solid box for Nighthaunt though! Will be very popular for sure

  3. New Nighthaunt book with fresh, interesting rules would be a big hit I feel. Ghosts are a sleeper hit, and I imagine you'll see an explosion of them in hobby groups if they get flavorful and useful rules.

Personal expectations are to see IDK and Fyrslayer books (leaning on a combined dwarf release to build off the end of BR:Belikor), Nighthaunt Battletome announcement and that's it. Anything more I'll take as a bonus, but I feel thats a pretty conservative expectation.

I think we're in for a good few months of heavy 40k focus.

It was a potato cam pic, a maris piper potato maybe but a potato none the less.

The fact someone broke the trust placed in them and potentially risked their job if they work for GW to put a bad pic of a model on the Internet a day before it was going to be revealed is just idiotic to me.

    Absolute shame, yeah.

well there's literally no unrevealed AOS stuff right now so there won't be any AOS preorders until we're actually shown something first!

Heres hoping we get a good roadmap then! Hoping for more then IDK and FS tomes. Maybe an additonal two coming tombs, hints at future lore, and maybe a look at the next big release for AoS. Even if its a teaser

Adepticon is late March isnt it? If we have to wait 3 months for another Preview or AOS news that will not go over well with fans, even us patient ones!!

LVO is on January 28th, so we will have a reveal there. So no worries about waiting 3 months!

If true, I’d hope Cities of Sigmar.

They already have unique cities that could easily be their own battletomes as many of the cities work in different factions of order. It could make for a really ecosystem for Order armies. A new kit could be both Living City and Sylvaneth.

But it would probably be Lumineth.

Honestly, cities and the people of the realms becoming the centrepiece is a dream scenario.

We need more grassroots stories in the mortal realms, not just gods clashing

According to Rumors GW switched to another Poster-Boy faction for AoS.

Which faction might it be? I am assuming Lumineth, however Soulblight appears to be a bestseller.

    Oh?
My money is on Lumineth if thats the case. Since there are supposedly even more kits coming eventually with Tyrion and the other temples xD

The two event models are beauts, particularly love the Inquisitor, 14 year old me would have loved that when I was really into Ordo Xenos. Curious as to why the Chaos knight 8n the preview pretty much has an identical vulture.

    As a none Eldar collector-

For me its the heads. The details are much more crisp for sure, but holding the heads of the old kit up to the new one... big change xD

No, that was someone photoshopping and editing the article to say Umbraneath. The original article never had Umbraneath and term was made up by someone to fit with Lumineath word

Its really crazy how that name has infiltrated the rumors since that fake.

In general i'd absolutely put money on Dark elves being something turned up to 11 if Lumineth are anything to go on. Lots of cloaks, shadows and mist effects galore.

The most surprising thing about the DoK is just the timing. We've had a warcry warband, an Underworlds warband and a battletome in the last year or so. Unless they are doing a Lumineth, it only leaves Cursed City.

As others have said I hope it's not Malerion as I'm hoping for something pretty different for that faction.

While I'd love lots of AoS minis in the next few months, I'm genuinely excited to see more of the Eldar, especially the avatar.

Could be a DOK character in a cursed city expansion.

I just dont believe Silent People will be Death. To be fair we know basically nothing about them but they just scream Destruction to me, though Setient Roach swarms sounds incredible and if so would definitely be my first Death army.

OBR in January would be out of nowhere, though I also wouldnt be surprised if they did announce this Battlebox this early in advance because of the lack of AOS content at the moment and this far into 3.0 without any hype.

Ogor Summer is something I've heard repeatedly and I truly hope is true. I would love if we get a range refresh but with Rumour that it's just an updated Butcher I'll keep my hype low.

Im still of the mind that an Ogre refresh isn't super in the cards. They've aged pretty well, and most of the whole range is in plastic. New Butcher and characters is what I really want to see for them in the short/ to medium run for them.

So...any hope for something before the end of the year?
    I'm just deluding myself? :P

I'd say expect not, and be pleasantly surprised! Next big release is 40k for sure, with whatever this eldar and chaos box is going to be!

#GATORGANG RISE UP!! YES THIS IS AWESOME!!

MATE WHAT A DAY FOR CAPS LOCK!! HOPEFULLY WE COULD SEE SOMETHING THAT MAY END UP FOR MAWTRIBES IN 3.0!!

MAWTRIBES FOR AOS ahem, this is an amazing day after a couple weeks of not much. I really hope Mawtribes gets a massive refresh for 3.0!!

    It's Croc-A'clock!

With the Krul boyz being orruks instead of grots and goblins i'm giving them a pass for now. Being responsible and actually finishing an army with my ogres even if I'm going to shoot myself in the foot if sculpts end up getting replaced after all this work xD.

But god nothing goes better with swamps then crocodiles.

  15. Don't mind waiting for the Dominion preorder honestly. I have enough to work on before heaping on a box of plastic even if I plan to sell the stormcast half.

But I would greatly appreciate some lore information for these new Orruks. Aesthetics wise they are banging on all cylinders, but I am anxious to see their character in the story. How does this change the orc hierarchy between clans/ factions, considering how different these are aesthetically and anatomically from the orc design we've been conditioned too expect.

Not to mention the glaring, weird case of Kragnos. Who well I agree can slot into destruction, certainly is an oddity at first, naked glance. I dunno, I want the deets! No need to spoil all the rules bits, just give us some real cool Warhammer community releases introducing us to the faction in the lore.

  16. I think the only thing that could dissuade me from these guys is the lore at this point. Still confused about Kragnos, and the synopsis of his broken realms book which I won't delve into for spoilers.

I just don't at all get why he is a central god to this army. Very underwhelmed by him as a deity at the moment, but will see I suppose. My other army being Ogres, i'm still wary of their new sculpts having derpy faces vs. these guys who are just perfection.

More Warmachines and wolf riders is a beautiful thing though!

They're themed around Mork by being cunning over brutal.... so they're drawn to and worship a god who does nothing but smash stuff.

Their shields all look like squigs, are styled after themselves, and have the same Gork and Mork faces we've had since the 80's.... but they're supposed to be Kragnos. Because "most of them haven't seen him."

They live in swamps.... and follow a god of earthquakes.

I'd hope it was a last minute change, otherwise I'd worry for the mental faculties of GW's writers.

Hoping they leave the squigs to the other greenskins myself. Gloomspite and even Ironjawz would do it far better, and I'd much prefer to see more creatures like the warboss' mount over squigs!

Kragnos is... absolutely weird as a patron. He seems like the opposite of everything these guys represent at a glance. I'm interested to see how they've justified it writing wise... but at the same time, am hoping their lore is not Kragnos centric as a deity. Would much prefer them godless. Just fighting for self advancement and to cause pain for their amusement and self indulgence.
