You activate the doppelganger cloak at the start of the combat phase. Your hero now cannot be attacked until after they have attacked. If that hero has been locused, therefore fighting at the end of the combat phase then it is unlikely anything will be able to attack it.

Doppelganger cloak doesn't change your order of attacks, it just means the hero can't be targeted with attacks till after it has attacked

    Okay thx

  2. How does doppelganger cloak work against locus of diversion  ? without Gristelgore and savage strike!

if my Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist fights against keeper and demonettes and I have to activate it, can i fight with doppelganger cloak first or only at the end?

Unfortunately, each one individually! Even for a small unit you must roll each scream.
Usually I just see what is the value I need to surpass, and roll them quite fast!

    Like: "Well I need 10+, so 11 = 1 MW...." Roll "fast", 8 / 12 (2MW) / 3 / 5 / 14(4MW) keep doing"! It is not that bad and it seems like! ahahahahaha

and how big are your flayers units?

do you have a list for 1500 points? I'm playing next Thursday against beast of chaos with 1500p

I think it was the perfect change to something that was totally unfun for your opponent. Most armies simply did not have a counter play to it, the skill of the player becomes irrelevant when there's actually no answer.

Though personally I never ran Gristlegore any way, it wasn't fun for my opponent so wasn't fun for me either. Blisterskin is a much better grand court than Gristlegore and gives you so many more movement options which is frankly how you win games.

I think if GW Gristlegore nerft then they must also nerf the 2+ ability of slaanesh (where a unit may only fight at the end) , both are very strong and unfair skills but GW only nerf Gristlegore ....  if my main opponent were not a slaanesh player, maybe i would not care , but with Gristlegore I finally had a chance against slaanesh and now she is gone again.

What must ppl do, I myself, is bring at lest 1 of those 3 units packed with more Flayers than the minimum size! That unit will be you target for most buffs... I tend to make my Infernal my Warlord, that way Flayers became Battleline and I still can use Feast Day (Once more it became stronger than it was due to changes to buying extra CP, its only 1 CP now).

This Warlord will get the "Wizard" trait, in order to have the +1 attack from Ghoul King Scroll... Added the +D3 attacks from AAR I managed to pump in my games 4 extra attacks in a blob of bunch of Flayers.

But those extra tactics is my personal preference. But I still think FEAST DAY will be the best option moving forward!

how do you roll the scream of the flayers in a bigger unit( 9+)  ? each one individually ? or all together ?

Usually 3 units of Flayers in a DeadWatch Battalion!

You will need Courtier to support them (Maybe 1 Varghulf and another Infernal)... even Chalice can help sometimes!

It is a highly mobile list, with bunch of MW that make it a pain in the ass for a lot of enemies units (Those with good saves). Besides this I always bring those 2 Big FEC Guys (AAR and GKoTG).

What I love about Flayers, besides all that I said before, is the possibility to be following my GKoTG and acting as his Screen! It become much stronger right now that we lost the "Fight First Gristlegore when charged"... that way, using Flayers as Screen, you prevent those Glass Cannon units to Charge your GKoTG and burst him!

Even on my heavy Ghouls list I will bring at least 1 unit of Flayers to be my GKoTG screen!

that sounds very good, I will test, thx! 👍

i do really wanna try Ghoul heavy with Horror support...but that means I need to assemble more Horror 🤣

I have 18 Flayers and 18 Horros ;D I always build something from both.

  8. I love Beastclaw Raiders, they are my favorite Race right now,  but I have made the mistake that I have built too many Thundertusk , i have 3 Thundertusk  and only one Frostlord on Stonehorn  and the Frostlord on Stonehorn  is my second favorit ( first is the Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist ) Unit in the AOS Game, but I have already bought a new start collecting box  ;D

  9. Hey guys, what do you think about the stupid Gristlegore Nerf?

I'll cut it short: I do not like it , Why does GW always have to take everything good from the FEC?  first the ****** with Ghoul Patrol, now Gristlegore,  all my favorite Feature will be destroyed , In the meantime FEC are no fun anymore ......

    english:

disgusting things..., but enemies will adapt. Minimum dire wolves were a set choice since my first AoS try outs against Iron Jawz in 2016. with gristlegore even nastier, shooting might get a comeback...

    Wieso dire wolves ?

    english:

    Why dire wolves?

    English:

I also recently played a Path of Glory campaign , my Warband was Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist and a unit of 10 Crypt Ghouls , my abhorrent Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist single-handedly destroyed the enemy armies  and I won the Path of Glory Campaign without ever losing a battle.

Therefore, I can only recommend the Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist Abhorrant.

  12. Thank you for your answer.

True, with the Zombie Dragon can I summon a Courtier i completely forgot that ;D

Then I make a 30 Ghoul Block and summon the Varghulf Courtier, i like the Varghulf Courtier  and do not want to do without him, above all, he can revive the flayers and ghouls, and his damage is also very good against 10-40 blocks.

  13. Helas Guys, Me again  ;D

I have tomorrow my first game against the Ironjawz , what do you say to my army list and tactics :

    Allegiance: Flesh Eater Courts
    LEADERS
    Abhorrant Ghoul King (140)
Abhorrant Ghoul King on Terrorgheist (400)
    - General
    - Command Trait : Magestic Horror
Abhorrant Ghoul King on Zombie Dragon (440)
    Varghulf Courtier (160)
    UNITS
    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)
    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)
    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)
TOTAL: 1440/1500 EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 1

    Loyalty abilities:
    Artifact: Grimmer Kranz (
    The Grim Garland ?)
    Delusion: Royal hunting party
    General Property: Majestic Terror

    Tactics:
-Place as far back as possible and stop the first round and Summon Flayers and Ghouls.
-As soon as possible kill Maw-Krusha with Terrorgheist and Zombie Dragon
with the support of Royal hunting party Delusion.
-With the Flayers' ranged weapon shoot on Shaman, Brutes and Ardboys, they only have 6 (or -2: 4 by the artifact) Bravery.

-Grim Garland give an Abhorrant Ghoul King and put it close to the orcs.

-Reinforce Ghoul King Aborrant on Terrorgheist with all three spells (Food Greed, Unholy Life Force, Black Starvation).

    Kill priorities:
    1.Megaboss on Maw-Krusha
    2.Megaboss, Gore Gruntas
    3.Brutes, Shaman, Warchanter
    4.Ardboys

What do you think ? Do I have a chance with the tactics or should I play better with the horror? And give my Abhorrant Ghoul King on Terrorgheist the Artefact: Blood River Chalice for extra healing ?

    My complete army inventory is:

    Flesh Eater Courts (4400 P.):

2x Abhorrant Ghoul King (on foot)
1x Abhorrant Ghoul King on Terrorgheist
1x Abhorrant Ghoul King on Zombie Dragon
    1x Terrorgheist
    1x Zombie Dragon
    120x Crypt Ghouls
    5x Crypt Ghouls Courtier
    12x Crypt Horrors
    6x Crypt Flayers
    1x Varghulf Courtier

Ahahaa how do you win a tournament with illegal spell targets and an army that is 10 points over the limit? Christ alive MtG might be a scam but at least the events are run with a genuine interest in creating a legitimate competitive environment.

@Diablo Don't worry too much about where you place in your first tourney. The important thing is to focus on which decisions pay off and which ones come back to haunt you. You'll work out your own event-winning list soon enough. That tends to be the way AoS works out; you work out an army full of units you know how to use, and you approach each game with a clear plan. Also, call me crazy, but at 1k I'd rather have a big block of ghouls than lots of small units of ghouls. I like being able to cast Black Hunger on a huge block so that I can wipe anything with my 200 attacks. I also don't like paying for battalions at 1000pts but hey, that's just me.

If you sell your soul to yourself, they might just put that into the rules...??

best are 40 ghouls, so 3x10 or 20/10 depends on the game and battleline requirements and stuff. Generally speaking more is more, also when the unit US wiped, your courtiers can’t return models so watch out for min size units.

and no, royal family calls in a agk on foot...

okay thx for your Answer ;)
