I hate that I can't play my army until I figure out how to fix my airship stand. I want to play AoS again so badly!
I use 3 GW stands for each airship. It doesn't look pretty, but it is stable.

Heck the fact that its manufactured means if you wanted to you could REALLY get creative and artistic with the painting.
Agreed. As un example, I think that color schemes based on stone could work very well on Bonereapers:

There is some resemblance, indeed.
He reminds me also of Athena:
She was not only a goddess of wisdom, but also of warfare, particulary of strategy: "Athena represented the disciplined, strategic side of war, in contrast to her brother Ares, the patron of violence, bloodlust, and slaughter—"the raw force of war." ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athena )

They look a bit like fantasy necrons. As a long time necron player, I dig that esthetic, so I'll probably buy them.

Since the new GHB dropped we have only played ME. It's faster then a 2k points game and more balanced than a classical 1k points game. I particularly like the fact that it is possible to score points both by taking objectives and by outkilling the opponent.

Well, that website is actually quite popular among 40k orks player, not well known among aos players is reasonable.
So, instead of asking them to delete the pictures, GW just deleted this whole "quite popular" website and completely erased all evidence of its existence. Sounds convincing...

The last time something was posted in the "Meeting Engagements" - Thread on TGA was July 12. Normally if a format is relevant there are frequent posts about it.
That's perhaps because people write about it in threads devoted to their armies - there was a post on army lists for ME in "skaventide" thread just yesterday for example.

I don't know what all the various banners and bells do so a little advice on those would be great.
When you select a unit on the GW webstore, you'll see a "download" option, which will let you dowload the warscroll (stats and rules) for that unit.

My only issue with Infinity is MY GODS I wish they'd done a bit more of an heroic scale because their models are tiny! It doesn't help that they've got a seriously masterful painter doing their product work so they look really outstanding and yet require quite a high level of skill to achieve a similar paint effect. I'd class Infinity as the great masters to advanced wargamers skirmish game in terms of the models and in terms of rule depth and complexity on that front.
Agreed, but their more recent models tend to be bigger and bulkier. The really tiny models were made before they converted to the 3D sculpting (in 2014).

Been eyeing KO for sometime now, painting my other plastic until toys well I see what a new book brings.
Well I dont dislike the aesthetic of their helmets, it can make the army seem kinda lifeless. Has anyone experimented with headswaps? Any good pictures and references with dwarf heads floating about?
I am using (bare) heads from my space wolves.

Thanks for the detailed explanation!

Very nice! I like the gritty and realistic look. I find the purple doesn't sit well with Orcs though.
Could you share your recipe for the bases and the skin?

In regards to helping boost ships usefulness, I know their firepower is pretty low (really like the damage of the cannons being a flat value), but could a boost in tankiness increase their value?
Some Tzeentch units that fly get a +2 modifier (not a 2+ base save) to their save while in combat with units that cannot fly. Do you think something like this could help? This would do a pretty good job making our ships a bit more survivable in combat against most units while still having some vulnerabilities.
A major issue with our list building currently seems that we don’t have any real damage sponges, which is fine if we are supposed to be a glass cannon, but it is just unfortunate that often when another unit is considered it just never compares to “more skyhooks”.
The best and the most lore-friendly way to increase usefulness of our ships would be to allow them to be used as garrisons by Kharadron infantry.
SpoilerFrom core rules:
"Units that garrison a terrain feature are removed from the battlefield and are assumed to be ‘inside’ the terrain feature. Units must treat a terrain
feature garrisoned by the enemy as if it were an enemy model. The range and visibility to or from a garrisoning unit is determined to or from the terrain feature instead.
A garrisoning model can attack and be attacked, cast or unbind spells, and use abilities, but cannot move. A garrisoning unit counts as being in cover if it is attacked. In addition, subtract 1 from the hit rolls of attacks made against a garrisoning unit."- 1

Hey Guys,
I'm attending a 1000 points tournament at my LGS next week and I'm planning to bring the following list:
Barak Mhornar
Aether Khemist
-Aethershock Earbuster
-Ther's no trading with some people
30 Arkanaut Company
-9 Light Skyhooks
10 Arkanaut Company
-3 Light Skyhooks
9 Endrinriggers
-2 Grapnel Launchers
1000 points flat
What are your thoughts on that list? Would you consider something different and if so, what would you reccomend?
Thanks in advance for any advice 😊
The list looks strong. However, I'd add a frigate, just because a Kharadron army without a single ship makes me sad.

P3 and Vallejo, because they last longer. Many of my Citadel metalic paints have their pigments separated after some time (and when I mix them, the quality is not the same as before). Also, they dry up faster then Vallejo paints.

Some units has abilities that say they can re-roll hit rolls, for example the skull reapers - "You can re-roll hit rolls for attacks made by this unit if the target unit has 5 or more models."
We understood that to mean we can re-roll failed hit rolls, as re-rolling all of the hit rolls in the hope of getting a better overall result doesn't seem that great.
But I've noticed a lot of units seem to specifically state failed hit rolls, for example Chaos Warshrine - "You can re-roll hit rolls of 1 for the unit. If you picked a Mortal Khorne unit, you can instead re-roll all failed hit rolls. "
So does that mean if it doesn't say "failed" you have to re-roll all of them (if you choose), or does both wording mean the same?
There is a third possibility: it could mean that you can re-roll hit rolls, failed or not, of your choosing (in some cases you could try to re-roll a successful roll, for example when a higher result would inflict additional damage or a mortal wound).

Hello fellow admirals!
Noob here and i have some basic questions regarding KO.
If i deploy my frigate with khemist and thunderers in the sky, does this count as 1 drop or 3 drops? (regarding deployement!)
Prospector command trait.. It says if unit is in range of terrain feature, what range how many inches?
That is all for now and thank you for your answers!
1) 1 drop.
2) You have to be within that terrain (in the forest, on the hill, in the ruins etc).
-
It's a nice list for friendly games, I like the variety of models. If you find it's not strong enough, you could drop the frigate and add 20 more arkanauts (a unit of 30 arkanauts with 9 skyhooks is dangerous when boosted by the khemist).

A true Dwarf doesn't whine, he endures stoically! A true Kharadron uses his/her ingenuity to overcome unfavorable odds!

1. A 3d6 dispel is very good. (unless that FAQ'ed, but didn't mark that in my book)
It has been FAQ'ed - instead of giving one more d6, now it allows you to attempt to unbind one extra spell.

Very unlikely.
"In the lore, Fyreslayers are tough. We mean really, really tough – you don’t run around the Mortal Realms clad in little but jewellry and a mohawk without being pretty durable, after all! ! To represent this on the tabletop, ALL of the core infantry of the Fyreslayers have been given an additional Wound on their profile!"
KO are not so tough in the lore. Our lore is all about us flying in ships. Hence, I expect KO ships to be buffed, not the infantry.
