I understand that at this point there isn't much in the sylvaneth range that doesn't already have a box set between the start collecting and the warcry box but that mostly speaks to how small the range is

So I've got 3 of the old trees on the way but people keep offering me more, how many wyldwoods do I reasonably need?

Will it be in any way viable to run a monster mash list entirely of dragons, gheists and vengorians?

I didnt realize I could bring in other dark elves into a DoK army! That does seem more like the right move to me. Ill have to read up a bit more, but thanks!

Hey all! I am new to the hobby, and am thinking of creating a Har Kuron army. I have a question about the books. To get all of the rules for a Har Kuron army do I need to have 1. the cities of sigmar 2. the daughters of kaine AND 3. the broken realms morathi books? that seems absurd to buy up front. Maybe I start with a Daughters of Kaine army so that I can spend my money on some models and expand my books and range later?
You only need the Morathi book, which I would recommend getting anyway because it is a gorgeous book and the story is excellent. All the other warscrolls are available for free on the AZYR app.
You need to decide tho whether you really want to do HK or DOK, because in HK you can only have one in 4 units be DOK and the rest only Dark Elves, whereas in DOK you can ally in 400pts worth of druchii.

Hello, I am looking at trying a wanderers/high elf + sylvaneth only list with minimal humies (battlemages and hurricanum allowed), how viable is that these days and what have people tried that works?
Also, what can I proxy old swifthawk griffons as because those models are wicked
My starting list is gonna be built around 20x wildwood rangers, 10 eternal guard, 20 sisters, assassin, battlemagi

my uncle jimbo who works at gw says the new allegiance is
+1 bravery
give another hero an artifact
command ability +1 attack to khinerai or melusai unit within 12
artefact does d3 mw at the end of the combat phase to each enemy unit within 3" if you roll a 5+
he also says both versions of Morathi are on the table at the same time, you cant kill the smaller morathi until you kill the bigger morathi because she is carrying the heart of khaine. 8 attacks on heartrender now
melusai are much better now, can buff them up to have 6 glaive attacks and 4 crystal touches per model

I'm looking at allies for Irondrake based Tempest Eyes; they're so good at shooting with a couple Runelords around, and I already have a bunch. I've tried Greywater when I used steam tanks and Irondrakes, but steam tanks are a little meh. Tempest Eyes seem to have some extra solid benefits in general.
However Irondrakes are pretty slow and suck in combat.....what do people think of allying in an Auric Runesmiter with either 10 Hearthguard Berzerkers (with broad-axes?) or is it better to go with 20 Vulkite Berzerkers? The tunneling from the Runesmiter is what I'm after to get to the enemy backfield. Then I could maybe use my General on Griffin with Zephyrite Banner to help them get the charge off from tunneling up.
How many Irondrakes are you running? I was thinking about doing the same as you for my hurricanum blob of 20x drakes and 20x handgunners but I refuse to run *spits* elves in my list. What are you looking to accomplish with the allies? If you need units to tank, get ironbreakers or longbeards. If it's speed, copters, KO ships and balloon boys work well.
Remember too if you want to deepstrike irondrakes you can always go Living City, that's something I'm looking into atm. Post lists!

Hi all, I use the Azyr app and I think it is in error. I was planning to use the Firelance Temple Host from my Seraphon (I have never done an all cav/monsters type list) but the app is now telling me that the Batallion can't be used in matched play. I am certain from reading the battle tome that this is an error? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app but the same thing comes up. Tested the list on warscroll builder and it doesn't error there.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
I think it's bugged, when I try to put Thunder Lizards in Coalesced it says its invalid because I didn't give the warlord trait and item to a monster but then when i give it to a skink chief on stegadon it says its invalid because that unit can't have the warlord trait and item

Hello all,
I am thinking about dipping my toes in the spawning pool and have come up with this as a starter list, what do you guys think?
Coalesced, Thunder Lizards
Stegadon with Skink Chief, 270 general
Lord Kroak, 320
Terradon Chief 70
Skink Starpriest
40x skink darts + daggers
10x skink
10x skink
Bastiladon, Solar Engine
Bastiladon, Solar Engine
Terradon Riders 9x
Shadowstrike Temple Host 150

Yeah i saw that, its how i've been playing for the most part, 70+ raiders, 50+ bestigors, a couple ungors, BL+3 Shamans, battalion.
What's the strategy behind this list? Do you do a lot of ambushing? Can you lay out a typical T1 game plan?

Great idea. Maybe it's an oversight....
What's the email address for that? Maybe the more people that ask, the better the chances....
And, it is a bit oddly worded. They do mention that you are choosing a "Slaves to Darkness" army, but then say you have a different allegiance. Does that mean you can take any StD units? If so, what counts as battle line? etc, etc. They left quite a few questions.
They did this same thing to Legion of Grief and never answered any questions, like whether or not you could take NH battalions in it.

That, and new Archaon seems to be pretty damn strong too. He works pretty well with most of the single god books/factions too.
I've seen some nasty Khorne lisst with him and he seems to do well in Tzeentch too.
Got any links to those lists? What's the gist?

I like taking the ethereal amulet on krakadrak and just making him super super tanky

It seems light on the Mortal Heroes to me to really make use of Ravagers, but I am guessing that is more a case of the army you have more than anything.
I assume Chungus Dragon is the Karkadrak which you will probably keep close to your knights. Which I think works well. Be careful with your Chaos Lord on foot, he can feel rather fragile compared to a group of 10+, or 5 for that matter, Chaos Warriors. The other Leaders I can't comment too much on.
I don't think 5 Warriors does much of anything beyond being a speed bump, and even Slaves to Darkness have cheaper speed bumps (I like Furies if that if I want a speed bump). Given what you have I would consider going with two groups of 10 Warriors. Still not great (I really like groups of 15), but you also don't have much in the way of support and against Nighthaunts, so Battleshock is going to be a thing. Probably a real thing since you are going to be Command Point starved. I don't have experience with Marauder stuff, but I prefer your Plan B of getting a unit of Marauders more as they have better movement and more damage and are just as likely to have as much staying power.
Things to watch out for with Nighthaunts is they are way faster than you and Battleshock is going to happen on your units. Fortunately, you don't have much Rend so it isn't like you are losing out much there.
I have a WarQueen to throw in but i want Bellykor to lock down the block of 30 reapers I know i'm going to be facing and the Bloodsecrator for +attacks...and yeah I have just 20 warriors...should I take out 5 maruader horse and summon them instead?
-
ok gonna try out this list tonight against nighthaunt, any thoughts?
RAVAGERS
Chaos Lord on Chungus Dragon - Master of Deception, Mark of Khorne, Aura of Khorne, Ethereal Amulet
Chaos Lord on Foot - Mark of the High-Favored, Reaperblade + Daemonboundsteel, Khorne marks
Bloodsecrator
Be'lakor
Chaos Warriors x15 shields
Chaos Knights, Ensorcelled Weps
Chaos Marauder Horse 10x
Chaos Warriors 5x
Bloodmarked Warband
Chaos Chosen 5x, Khorne
Command point
2000/2000
--------------------
Got 40 marauders to summon in and surprise charge his backline....but just realized they only summon in ten.
Should I drop the 5x warriors and CP for a unit of marauders (axes)?

Dwarfbros how are we feeling about this? I get that we seem to have gotten the short end of the stick (pun intended) but I am so excited at the chance to stick my old cannons, cannonball holders and other skull pass bros on a 50mm round and call it a greatcannon. Also looking into 3d printing some shields/barriers to use the old thunderers as fusiliers
