  1. It is always hard to discern how many there are meant to be but their numbers must be pretty vast. The mortal realms are meant to be gigantic and yet in almost every aos story there will be a stormcast somewhere in there. Everyone has heard of them they seem to be a very large force which is constantly expanding.  And the whole not dying thing means eventually they would grind death down. And would exist in empty realms Immortal ever living robots.

How do you find the stoneguards?  After a few test games I find the rerolling save is pretty nice but piling in 1'' and  1'' weapons on 32mm bases are huge disadvantage making them kind of tricky in combat.

They are ok but still fragile I feel like this army is actually hyper fragile. Like I'm imagining squid hoppers running over them. Or just anything that does mortals.  I mean they are clearly not a big blob army they are all one or two wound. I'm worried. It's a good translation of the classic toughness 3 elves but in the hyper killy world of aos2. I think they might really suffer.

  3. I've been listening to a lot of the audiobooks of stormcast lately having read the majority of non stormcast aos books and these guys really need some stakes. The fact they cant die begins to bear down  on the reader as you make your way through the books. Like a couple are captured or trapped and basically all the stormcast cry about it because of how sad it is.

But that's not interesting I mean space marines die. Grots die. Aelfs die. The  whole Losing their personality seems to make them better soldiers and less human. So what? surely that is absolutely ideal for waging war against innumerable hordes of madmen.  Sigmar should be delighted. They need to lose the immortality completely even fighting them on the tabletop its hollow because of this. The legions of death with their grinding inexorable undeath are a classic trope having them fighting unearthly godlike sigmarines means realistically sigmar wouldve already won. Stormcast need to be bought down. They just dont fit age of sigmar anymore as they currently are.

  4. Book is great but it's clear there is an uber awesome truly amazing Tyrion side of things waiting in the wings. Let's think we've had  no transference of dragon riders, dragon knights,  Phoenix guard. Scycutters? When Tyrion's side does eventually release and GW would be mad not too I dont think the look of the teclis side will be as favourable. Because I'm already salivating over the possibilities that tyrion could bring.

  5. The fastest and best selling army in the game is human led cities of sigmar this is always obvious when visiting the online store. It is high time the new aos human faction is released I'm tired of using freeguild warriors that are half the height of grots and chaos marauders let alone the 9 foot tall elves. All the new armies so far have been distractions. Its  kear GW still sells so many of the old empire kits that they cant change the aesthetic too much but they need to release new humans asap. Like it should have happened in 2016 and we are still waiting now.

  6. The reality of the situation is there is power creep I play maggotkin and have never won against ossiarchs in 4 matches I've played. They dont die and when they do they get up and they run around like a sprinting cheetah. It's not so much they kill my unitss they just park themselves in front of them and the combat never ends. Its depressing.

  7. I just wish the power creep went with the right models. Individually in the game stats a chaos warrior is one of the most non lethal least dangerous things you could ever fight against. Same with a stormcast liberator. Compared to say a diseased rat or a bikini clad elf with a knife it always seems to be the wrong units with the most power. Osssiarchs are the prime example tiny mortrek guard which serve as the army's chaff or at least should but are actually a hyper lethal death star that also cant be killed. Make chaos chosen great again.

  8. I think there is sadly no chance of gitmob returning. At least in the form of classic gitmob.

There is probably room for another gobbo faction but classic orcs and goblins are dead.

Grotbag scuttlers, grotbag scoopers, grotbag chicken riders. A wacky concept army like gloomspite will be the next goblin army. If there is another

  9. I mean reading all this the options for this army actually seem really small. Especially hero wise. Without teclis it seems it's not worth showing up. I think the missing thing is a alarith themed warrior hammer hero Mounted or not. Apart from teclis the army doesnt really have a leader model. I mean the two casters are just not generals. And eltharions a named character whose an invisible ghost. It's actually really odd. The unit variety is about the same as many others but hero wise i cant think of another army like it.

  10. By and large every over race has had something new though. I mean death is now multiple factions and that was just vampire counts and tomb kings in fantasy. Dwarves have multiple options, orcs have two armies to choose from. Chaos has a million. Night Goblins became there own whole army. Three types of unique elf plus all the stuff still in CoS Yet humans, by far the most repsented race in the aos literature have had one single model release since long before the end times.

In the gotrek books he interacts amongst many human empires huge variety of places and peoples. and yet army and model wise we get zero representation. I mean loads of aos books refer to human cannons and human knights and yet they have actually stopped selling them. They arent even rule legal anymore. I think the chances of them ever releasing a human faction gets less with every new release.

  11. I keep getting the feeling that soon humanity as a species will entirely fall to chaos in the aos lore. It's been 5 years and we havent had a single order human model released. Outside that one war priest who was 8 foot tall and discontinued.  The empire was the most popular faction in old warhammer they were the protagonists of the entire 25 year story. Aos humans are a footnote.  Used to create stormcast and nothing else.

Three new aelf factions two dwarvish. I mean the lizards got a terrain piece. It seems the time of order aligned humans are limited within aos and will soon be completely discontinued. Especially as all the new human models are going to be found instead in warhammer the old world.

As far as i can tell i call ******.

    from GW predorder Page:

"a fully customisable set of aelven infantry armed with massive pikes that make for the perfect objective holders and defensive troops in your force"

"a fully customisable set of aelven horsemen capable of  carving through enemy infantry with contemptuous ease"

    From the GW WarhammerCommunity Article:

"The Lumineth Realm-lords Army Set is packed with full, customisable kits for some key units – the Vanari Auralan Wardens and Vanari Dawnriders – led by the breathtakingly awesome Light of Eltharion" (they did the bold lettering. not me. they did that.)

I was already doubting it when i saw the pictures of sprews in the article not finding any customisable parts exceot one single bit namely an alternative left hand (sword hand) for the leader of the Wardens. Then i looked through the sprew images on the preorder at GWs page and found a single second head for the Dawnriders Leader. And in that image the resolution isnt even good enough to tell the difference i can just say that there are 4 normal helmets and 2 helmets with the leader head gear.

I didnt ask for fully customisable kits but if they come around with bold lettering to praise customisability they are taking the ****** for not delivering. They are literally advocating customisability in the actual preorder itself.

Please somebody tell me what I am missing on the sprews. Like i missed a whole different set of helmets or a whole different set of shields. Tell me I am blind please.

Customisable to Gw these days just means you can choose which helmet and shield each model has as opposed to the monopose push fit that so much of their stuff is now.

The last customisable kit they made was the blightkings. At least two fully different builds for each model and plenty of additional extras and options. We shall never see their like again.

I mean the stoneguard people can have a pointy end or flat head to their hammers. That's the customisation.

  13. The only pain I feel is that the mortal realms are a far hollower and  restrictive place than the old world. In the old world humans were in every flavour. Every race and creed.in aos we have chaos humans and the few sets remaining of the free guild.thats it.  It is a tragedy that give years down the line aos still doesn't have a human faction. Stormcast eternals are the hollowest of all.

  14. So warcry cards for armies not yet released and armies not even mentioned.and yet nothing for cities of sigmar the evidence is mounting up .no other army is getting this sort of treatment it really is leaving a lot of people out in the cold. Enjoy the aelves and giants shame there will be no humans to fight.

  15. I believe aos already has too many armies.

They could easily roll certain armies back together like they've done with orruks and ogors.

Beasts of chaos should go back to slaves to darkness.

Wanderers back to sylvaneth or squat

    Squat legions of nagash.

Realistically they may squat cities of sigmar when a new human faction is released. How many extra elf and dwarf do we actually need??

I mean do flesh eater courts, fyreslayers and daughters need their own books there model lines are so small they would have been sub factions in old warhammer.

I think next edition either all the soup times are got rid of and squatted and each faction is hyper focused or the factions are rolled back into more varied armies.at the moment there is a big divide.

  16. I'm not sure how I can be called out for trolling when hollow hills is literally calling for peoples armies to be worse be cause they aren't fish aelves.  Without the old fantasy armies when this game released it would have just been stormcast eternal.that would have been it.if we look at totally new concept armies you would have got kharadron, idoneth and ossiarch bonerepaers. Everything else had representation in the old world. The claim that every other army should be worse because it is old is utterly ridiculous trolling. If the old world armies had been wiped out aos would be a game of about five armies.

  17. It's well documented the poor sales suffered by the new aos factions everything but stormcast eternal have sold poorly. Fyreslayers, kharaadron, idoneth have all been very slow sellers.ossiarchs have had some better success. So maybe yes they should receive worse rules.but they don't try winning a game with cities of sigmar it's entirely impossible against new armies. In a few years the old armies will clearly not exist in aos and will be resigned to the new warhammer old world game.but believe me there is a reason they are releasing pointy aelves and its because all the new elf and dwarf factions etc. Have had very very low sales .

  18. Models when they are released are great no one can deny that at least but the discarding and ignoring of the main human faction of the setting is just tiring me out and disuading me from buying any gw products.how can they keep producing these great armies and completely ignore the biggest faction from warhammer fantasy.without a true human army the realms are a hollow and lifeless place to fight .the fact the terrain is all ruins and nothing else while 40k has hundreds of kits of a living breathing human society shows that gw don't realise without that base grounding the realms are becoming more hollow and less interesting with every release.
