Yeah always go for the slann the the EoTG first but however it could be really tough sometimes since the slann+ vortex+cover gets 2+save and rerolling against shooting, and skinks as good  screen make it harder to take it out by deepstriking tactics.

In most games, as long as the slann remains on the battlefield (and it does survive), he can keep summoning 10+ skinks every turn, flooding the table while my units dies without summonning back.

It feels like if I could not kill the slann T1, which is hard, I would get overrun by the skinks very soon.

Yep,  if I can get the Skink Summoning factory humming, Seraphon has a much better chance at stealing some wins.

I'm trying to do a Hallowheart list dark elves based for a tournament. Please let me know what you guys think about it. I know I could be batter involving any cities of sugar unites but I care about the theme so I'd like to use mostly  elves units.

    Allegiance: Cities of Sigmar
     - Mortal Realm: Aqshy
     - City: Hallowheart

    LEADERS
    Sorceress (90)
    - General
    - Command Trait : Warden of the Flame
    - Spell : Lore of Whitefire - Roaming Wildfire (Hallowheart Wizard)
    - Hallowheart 2nd Spell : Ignite Weapons

    Sorceress (90)
    - Spell : Lore of Whitefire - Warding Brand (Hallowheart Wizard)
    - Hallowheart 2nd Spell : Crystal Aegis
    - City Role : General's Adjutant (Must be 6 wounds or less)

    Sorceress on Black Dragon (300)
    - Witch Rod
    - Artefact : Ignax's Scales
    - Spell : Lore of Whitefire - Sear Wounds (Hallowheart Wizard)
    - Hallowheart 2nd Spell : Ignite Weapons

    Sorceress on Black Dragon (300)
    - Witch Rod
    - Spell : Lore of Whitefire - Sear Wounds (Hallowheart Wizard)
    - Hallowheart 2nd Spell : Elemental Cyclone

    UNITS
    30 x Black Guard (420)
    20 x Darkshards (200)
    - City Role : Honoured Retinue (Must be 5-20 models)
    20 x Darkshards (200)
    5 x Tree-Revenants (80)
    - Allies
    5 x Tree-Revenants (80)
    - Allies

ENDLESS SPELLS / TERRAIN / COMMAND POINTS
    Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (60)
    Soulscream Bridge (80)
    Soulsnare Shackles (40)
    Ravenak's Gnashing Jaws (30)
    Quicksilver Swords (30)

I would put those 40 darkshards into one unit if you could. Cmd pt them from the sorceress to run and shoot and you are putting 80 shots onto just about any target you want. Add a few buffing spells to them before you shoot them up the field and they will become a big nuisance.  Tree-Revs are very useful for 80 pts!

I';m not crazy about the Sorceress on Black Dragon... I like the Luminark and Hurricanum much better. But if you are staying narrative, the dragons are fine. I just wish they here tougher like the Dreadlord on Dragon (3+ save with his shield vs the Sorcess has a 5+)

I know I have asked in this thread several times, and I know it might not be proper to ask the question here.

But local Seraphon player has dominated   the store for quite a long time, and it’s never a pleasant game against him. Every one has had a headache playing an object game with him.

I admit he is good at object games, and good players deserve to win. Though I still want to find a way to beat him even once.

So may I ask what weaknesses do you find during playing Seraphon? And what’s the toughest matchup to Seraphon?

Share and I might have some of his experience to deal with the weaknesses mentioned. Thought it would be win-win.

Interesting as Seraphon is not particularly strong right now. What's he playing?

Shadowstrike - Deploy in such a way that he has no good target for a Turn 1 strike with the rippers.

Thunderquake - Kill the EoTG and the list falls apart.

    Always kill the slann.

Our biggest weakness is melee. Our best melee unit (ripperdactyls) has no rend and is VERY fragile.

Get on objectives early and Seraphon usually can't take em away from you.

That the battletomes for Seraphon, KO, and Tzeentch are coming out early 2020, I think Seraphon in January was mentioned.  Mentioned in Warhammer Weekly some episodes ago.

Hope so! Seraphon vs Tzeentch would be a fun box! We love shooting us some Chaos Demons. :)

  5. I'd put Ignax Scales (4+ mortal wound save) on the Hurricanum to help negate the Arcane Channeling mortals and boost all the spell casting by D6.

I also pretty much auto include the Umbral Spellportal in my lists (the other end can be placed ANYWHERE on the map when cast from Cities). Very useful to nuke hordes or put an endless spell thru to anywhere you want.

This is a bit of a stupid question but I see people fielding three or even more Fungoid Cave Shamans - do people really buy that many of the same mini?

I'd only buy one and kitbash the rest from other grot/wizard models... so there is a bit of diversity.

    Hi guys!

I'm a Seraphon player-collector and recently jumped on the crazy Gloomspite train.

Could you help me build a close-to-competitive troggotths/grots list (1k and 2k if possible)?

I want to buy some more Gloomspite mini but don't know what to look for

Here are the models I have

    60x Stabbas

    9x Rockgut troggoths

    9x Fellwater troggoths

5x Gobbapalooza (Fungoid Cave Shaman Proxy)

    1x Dankhold Troggboss

    1x Troggoth Hag

    1x Skragrott

    1xMollog's Mob

    Thank you very much!

I'd try and turn one of those Gobbapalooza's into a Spider Shaman as well.

Put the Hag (with Gryphfeather), 9 fellwater, and a shaman casting sneaky distraction spell for HUGE minuses to hit. Hag would be -3 to hit. Fellwater would be -2. It has worked wonderfully for me.

The second contingent of your army could work well with the Rockguts and the Dank Boss. Have them go kill stuff.

Third group is the Stabbas and Skragrott tossing spells around. These are you home objective campers.

Seems like you have everything you need to me!

    I run:
Aracknarock Shaman (Headress + Sneaky Distraction)
    Hag (Gryhfeather)
    Dankboss
    6 Rockgut
    9 Fellwater
    20 Stabbas
    Scuttletide
Troggherd Battalion (not worth its points, but I need the extra artifact)

  8. So let's say you throw it across a unit of 20 clan rats, a vermonlord, and a unit of 9 StormFiends.

For the clanrats, roll 20 dice. Each six is a slain model since they have less than 6 wounds each.

For the vermonlord, roll 1 dice. Each six is 2D6 mortals since it has 6 or more wounds.

For the StormFiends, roll 9 dice. Each six is 2D6 mortals since they have 6 or more wounds.

I don't think the purple sun is that effective.  2d6 wound on a 6+ is a little less than 1.2mw on average.

Yeah, it is VERY spikey. But when it works... It works well!

I did 22 mortals with it to 6 StormFiends.

I've hit two hordes of 80 Pleaguebearers and slain alot (enough to finish em off with rippers).

The best thing about it is that it slays <6 wound models instead of just doing mortals. So it is great for removing elite troops or hordes with aftersaves (DoK, Nurgle, etc).

But yes.... It it very streaky.

  10. Any way you could squeeze Purple Sun into one of those lists. It could be BRUTAL vs a unit of 9 Stormfiends. Will do a ton of dmg and also likely block them for a turn.

I recently deleted a unit of 6 stormfiends turn 1 with a 1-2 punch of Purple sun and some Rippers.

    9 stormfiends is scary!

What do you mean by this? Skink Priests and Starpriests can’t heal anything. What am I missing?

You can give the StarPriest the Spell Lore spell that can heal a unit. Luckily the spell doesn't say "Seraphon unit" so you can use it to heal Gotrek (just 1 wound though).

There is also a spell we have that can let him fly. It also doesn't have Seraphon keyword requirement.

Could you both tell us about the lists he comes with ?

He fits decently well in both of our good battalions.

Shadowstrike: Gotrek, Slann, EoTG, StarPriest, Astrolith, 3x10 Skinks, 6 rippers, purple sun (or cogs... Basically 80 pts left over for spells, an extra priest (to heal Gotrek) or another unit of Skinks)

Thunderquake: Gotrek, Slann, EoTG, 3x10 Skinks, 3 Razordons, 3 skink handlers, Bastiladon, Stegadon

  13. Agree. I've only played one practice game so far with Gotrek... And he performed wonderfully!

I played vs IDK. Gotrek held middle objective (along with some Skinks etc) and killed a full unit of 6 eels, King, and Aspect. Only took 1 wound.

He is by far Seraphon's best option for a scary hero unit.

  14. I guess so.

I look forward to you going 5-0 with Seraphon at some major GTs soon.

Considering only one Seraphon list worldwide has gone 5-0 at a major GT in the last year and half (and that one was called early due to time)... You must be a prodigy!

Make us all proud! Go prove it!
