  1. regarding the 10-15mm range debate about 3d printing. Currently home printers get nice results, but when compared next to pro-printed miniatures, the difference in quality is cristal clear.

And in my opinion, home 3D printing is currently too cumbersome for mainstream public and requires quite some space (and good ventilation). And for the prize of a printer you probably could get like 3 warmaster sized armies and without fighting with the printer settings. Nowadays is something for hardcore hobbists, but that probably will change in not that much time.

I hope Vargheists remain battleline cuz I have a lot of them

lets see how they handle subfactions, since the book still looks like LoN and not Soulblight only.

Makes sense that the general will unlock battleline. Maybe Vengorian Lord unlocks vargheist battleline or something like that

  3. one thing is sure, if we get 3.0 this summer, Stormcast battletome is going to follow immediately after. Lets hope it puts some order on the rooster.

I kind of like chunky space marines designs (dreadnoughts, centurions, aggressors, etc) so I would welcome this stuff for Stormcast ^^U

  4. seeing previous days we can assume 3 15min slots, so 3 previews, max 4.

Underworlds sure is going to take 1 spot. Idoneth full reveal and maybe show again Kainan's reapers (past previews are basically showing already known stuff)

The other 2-3 spots are hard to guess... but I won't get my hopes high for warcry or kill team.

Bloodbowl, Necromunda and LoTR I think have a lot of possibilities to get something (wasn't LoTR considered a CORE game and not a boxed one?).

Not sure about Adeptus Titanicus and Aeronautica...

My bet is 3 previews, 1 being Underworlds and for the others I would go for Bloodbowl and LoTR.

Also wasn’t there a leak in the new white dwarf where you could make your own hero? So you could still use the named characters as model for your own created Hero.

That's the anvil of aphoteosis. Specially suited for narrative and open play, and any friendly match in general, but not really for matched play.

But yeah, it's a really interesting device to repurpose named characters or work on some conversions

I love the new monster hero, but then again I'm prone to loving goofy minis.  I am a big fan of the OBR range.  The rules for the Vengorian lord will definitely work for any 'vampire lord on abyssal terror' models or conversions people still have lying around from the old days.

Well, having seen everything my initial order, assuming I'm not beaten out by the scalpers, will be:

    • Battletome - limited edition if I can nab it
    • Lauka/Vengabus - which I build will depend on the available subfactions and their lore
    • Dire Wolves - one box should do me for now
    • Blood Knights - again one box should do me to start
    • ~ Maybe ~ some fell bats, depending on how much the rest costs.

I really like the new vampire lord, but after picking up the Crimson Court I've got like 8 regular vampire lords to choose from which I like just as much.  I'll probably get it eventually, but not right away.

The new Vyrkos heroes, including Kritza and Annika, look good, but I still feel burned by Cursed City, so I'll probably hold off on them for now.  Unless they end up being the designated Nagash loyalists subfaction, but somehow I doubt that.

As for replacing my battleline infantry, I like my current skeletons just fine, and imo they look better next to the existing grave guard models which are apparently sticking around.  I'm more inclined to ditch my current zombies, but I've still got way too many of them to replace in one go, and without a generic version of the gravekeeper, or even the ability to just take Gorslav by himself, I just can't work up the enthusiasm to build and paint a bunch of zombies right now.  I will eventually replace my current zombies, certainly long before I replace my current skeletons, but not right away.

i have all my old skeletons on square bases, so I transitioned to using chainrasps... so that means getting some new skellies.

I'll probably get the battletome and some character and after reading it I'll decide around what theme I build the army.

Also I have metalhead and plastic dire wolfs and some fenrisian wolves. I'm not really fond of the new ones, so I don't know if l'll end getting some wolves.

  7. so lets wrap everything up. With everything we now to the date I think we might get something like this. Almost Stormcast Eternals level of characters.

I agree 100000%. I think Lauka Vai / Vengorian Lord look good if they were two different models (bottom half and top half) but together as one model it looks a little goofy to me. I think it is because it obviously is supposed to be like a Centaur Vampire, but I feel like the "human" half should be connected at the waist and not the shoulders. Soooo, if this model has stats that are good and I want to include it in an army then my plan is to kit bash it, joining the human half to the beast half at the waist and then putting wings on its back (maybe from VLoZD kit?).

with some luck  the torso is Sigvalds Size.

Dragon Zombie/ terrorgheist neck/head is probably too big to attach...

less so than with Kritza or Annika.  Cursed City already has a version of Radukar, and this new beastly radukar is on too large a base to fit on the cursed city grid.

yeah, but this is Radukar after being slain in Cursed City, so some kind of expansion with custom rules/scenary could have been worked there. Or it's simply a version of Radukar for AoS. Wich also makes sense

  10. Did anyone get wich unit was on the army shot on the top right?

I didn't catch grave guard, but corpse cart, unmounted terrorgheist and vargheists were all there

Vangorian lord is really cool, freaky to the max. Damn I'm glad that there is a non-named version.

    The rest...eh.

This release looks to be 6 resculpts and 5 named characters, plus a dual kit new hero type.

I remain hopeful that the rules are kick-ass, strong but fluffy.

A lot of armies would be super grateful to get 6 unit reescultps XD

  11. yeah, kind of weird... maybe they'll release a soulblight coin with the army release.

I hope they're giving away grave guard models because they want to make room for renewed ones!

As for the centerpiece model... I don't think there is space for a new big centerpiece. Zombie Dragon, Palanquin and Mortarchs are fairly new kits that are shared with other armies.

Despite that, I could see a medium sized model, similar to Sigvald or Guilliman.

Regarding CC I still have faith that when 3rd ed is out and the global situation is more stable they could produce a 2nd run. A halloween release could be nice for that.

With the anvil of apotheosis out there for some time, they should be able to implement some level systems... like in the old days, I‘d love that for vampires too.

also a mortis Engine as „mount“ could be interesting, vamps have „horses/flying/dragon and the throne and palanquin“ something similar could be available for Necromancers. Just listening to Soul Wars and there a necromancer merges with an undead construct...😻

I'm fully expecting for 3.0 a revamped version of Path to Glory, something similar to 40K Crusade system, and integrating the Anvil of Aphoteosis.

  13. A second warscroll for the necromancer would be really nice. Recover again the Master Necromancer figure,  the Liche or even both...

That would give the flexibility to have armies lead by a necromancer. Its kind of weird that this option wasn't available on Legions of Nagash book, were it made more sense than in a vampire book, were it makes more sense to have them as sideckicks so the focus on vampires isn't lost
