It’s translated to roughly Hidalgo’s Soulbound I guess

the boxset may not be Nightmare quest as the leak image has boxart called Poder Y Locura which is roughly translated as Might and Madness

the books that go with warcry boxsets doesn't share the same name.

For Bloodhunt, the book is called "warband tome: Predator and Prey".

This one looks like its Nightmare Quest / Warband tome: Power and Madness"

    EDIT: hahahah too slow 😅

Interesting that we got painting tutorial for WU warband which should be out in february but we didnt get preorder announcment for them this sunday. Not sure if they are delayed because price hike in march and they forgot to postpone video tutorial 🤔. Also they are on scenic bases.

they've just posted a new WHU article on community https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/02/21/nick-conquers-the-grey-mountain-by-painting-one-warhammer-underworlds-warband-every-week/

with the classic "will be up for preorder very soon". So I'll guess they'll be announced this sunday?

I think you misunderstood my point. Every edition gw does big updates for a handful of factions, like Seraphon, a couple more like gitz get a new unit but everyone else got just a book and a hero, usually on foot. A lot of factions are already hero heavy. Of course we'd love to have big updates for every faction but that simply isn't how GW does things. So are we just going to get another round of foot heroes for the factions which don't get a big update? It's starting to feel a bit redundant at this point.

Even now I'm wondering what they would want to add to Soulblight. They already have a wide selection of vampire heroes. If two thirds of the factions are just going to get one thing, wouldn't it be better to do a unit than another foot hero? I'm pretty sure every OBR player would choose a unit of archers over another hero.

    sorry I think i didn't explain properly ^^U

what I ment is that most factions still have old wf era models, so there is a lot of space for the updates being redesigns of existing units and not going the route of single hero releases.

I'm very curious to see what happens next edition for both AoS and 40k. At this point most armies are quite well served when it comes to heroes. Even a pretty small faction like KO now has 7 hero options. Are we really going to get another round of this? I'd love to see GW move to a New book plus unit next edition.

most armies still have "legacy" whf units, so there's still place for mini upgrades.

There are really few new AoS armies that have a lot of stuff and could pass with one hero or small unit. I can just think of Stormcast, Lumineth and Nighthaunt.

Armies that are going to be greatly renewed like seraphon and cities, most likely will still have old minis.

They may have sold well, but not well enough, since the relaunch of island of blood in early AoS was in fact a reboxing of unsold models printed far earlier.

Futhermore, starter set are not about pleasing an existing fan base: they are all about recruitment. That's why island of blood in 8th edition contributed to the doom of the old world. It did sold quite nicely among the existing player base, but failed to expand it significantly. Notably because none of the model inside was easy really they easy to paint or to sold to people anaware of the game or setting.

That's why Stormcasts doesn't need to even be the most popular faction to justify their presence in a series of starter sets. They just need to be beginner friendly, which they are. Because they need to appeal to young players, to not rebuke their parents (who got the money) and to be recognisable poster boy. And they need to be easy to paint to keeps the new players long enough, to encourage them to keep painting, playing, ans buying.

With this in mind, pitting religious zealots with a baroque iconography and numerous and detailed models against shadowy demons with fiddly bits as a starter set may please us, but will not help people from hobby center to recruit new players. Ence the fact that I, for one, doesn't not belive in a non Stormcasts starter set, and even more, doesn't believe in a starter set with a ultra detailed adversarie in front of them, but more with something rather simple to apprehend, like Nighthaunts, who can look nice with juste a wash over a base coat.

But i don't want to be all doom and gloom : we're still gonna have our humans and shadowy demons, and probably with a nice army set 😀

ooor... they can make it a StormKeep and include a mixed force of Cities and Stormcast on one side :D

Is it me or are pants on DoK warband painted on?

As in it's sculpted as skin with no material and then painted as leggins?

While disappointed they aren't really just clothed - this is a really neat idea I'm loving :)

in the art they are clearly wearing pants. In the minis its harder to see if the folds are just painted of have some sculpting.

I think the sculpting is so subtle that you can go either way.

Is it wrong to kind of hope for an Arks of Omen type game mode too. Maybe a return to Beastgrave or a similar mountain with lots of tunnel fighting. Crossing over with the next season of Warcry.

They could do something similar if they revamped Warcry Catacombs for 2nd edition.

What has been all the aos anniversary models?

    Nighthaunt

    Kruleboyz

    ?...

Guesses on next? Ill say a CoS or StD model. They seem to follow newer releases.

I think at least 3 knight questors. But I'm not sure if all were for store anniversaries

I mean, they have "Order" and "Aelf" boxes, if those aren't filled to the brim with old CoS models that are about to get the boot I'll be genuinely shocked. Underworlds is a safer bet, but I remember the last time the underworld boxes had a lot of like playmats and underworlds terrain, don't assume you're getting actual warbands.

    last time underworlds got:

    - beastgrave terranin

    - gaming mat

    - box for cards

    - carry case

    - Godsworn Hunt warband

    - Ironsoul condemnors vs Lady harrow mournflight box

    - tokens

The first of the new Warhammer Quests was AoS but the point (well both points) stand. Logically it would be 40k next, but who knows with GW.

well... Blackstone Fortress is still being sold...

Its a shame that none of the 3 AoS quest games had the same kind of support as BF U_U

That’s quite interesting and looking at things, it does make sense. Granted I don’t know the full details of how GW operates but it does sort of make sense how they will keep a kit in service for as long as possible. Do you have a source?

    sure!

but it's a 2 part 5+ hours interview in spanish...

If some one is interested I can try to check again for more interesting tidbits (the one about mini reesculpts is the one that stuck).

I’ve been holding off painting my 40, waiting for them to be refreshed… it’s been 10 years now 😅

was listening the other day to a interview with ex GW sculptor Juan Díaz and one interesting bit that was talked about was how best selling minis were renewed more frequently than poorly sold ones (in this case they were pointing at his mini of Lelith Hesperax)

As the logic was to renew what sold, so it could continue selling, but don't renew what didn't as it seems that they didn't have much faith that the renewal made them sell...

If GW applies the same scheme to Cities of Sigmar, it would lead to a release around March 2024 (Sisters of Battle: announced late March 2018 / official release early January 2020 = 22 months between the two).

Someone had done a recap of the announcement stream at Warhammer Fest where they said the army would be released at the end of the edition. But I was told more recently that they weren't as accurate (more like "later in this edition").

So if there is a "Cities of Sigmar bulletin", it could start in April 2023 (for battle sisters, 1st bulletin mid-February 2019: 18 months before their release).

Either way, it's (too) long to wait…hoping at least a little snippet for the now regular January 1 previews.

we could also take into consideration the Votann. Another really hyped faction from the olden days, that has had a much more fast and streamlined reveal than the sisters.

I think that its going to be something inbetween. For Votann they've been revealing models, lore and rules since the begining and for around 6 months.

But with CoS they started much like the Sisters teasing some bits, so I think a slower pace (around 10 months) could be possible.

With World Eaters and CoS being announced at the same time, both ranges are probably already finished. We're just seeing a lot more World Eaters stuff because they're the thing that leaked and GW is scrambling to cover it's bases. Hell, we probably wouldn't have seen any of the new Guard stuff yet if it wasn't for the leaks.

If we don't see them in 2023 I'd be very surprised.

Yeah, they're probably finished, and sure they have some stuff in the backburner that needs to be shown first. Be it because of leaks or because its slated for earlier.

Awesome then it means we may get something else.

With COS possibly out late 2023 what could it be?

i've been checking the Sisters of Battle unveiling and this was the calendar:

    - Adepticon 2018 (March): Announcement (no images)

    - warhammer fest 2018 (May): 3D render of Sister Tariana Palos mini

    - Nova 2018 (August): 3D rendered heads

    - Las Vegas Open 2019 (08 February): Announcement of the bulletin and 3D standard bearer reveal.

    - Battle Sister Bulletin (18 Feb - Nov 2019). Full reveal of all the range.

    - Battle Box launch november 2019

    - Full range launch January 2020

    -----------------

Dawnbringers were revealed on may 2022 with some 3D bits, and witch hunters and cursed city characters could be considered kind of a preview of  what its to come. So something like the sister bulletin that runs along next year until a battle box launch in november and the full range in 2023 its quite feasible.

Well note he’s on some Cursed City terrain but yeah he’s a smidge taller than the old man and daughter.

Probably just because he’s a quest hero not lined up with main AoS exactly but it is kinda justified in the novel since he’s not a stranger to drinking Stardrake Blood vials in a tight spot. They supercharge a human enough to go toe-to-toe with a full powered vampire in speed and strength at the cost of their life expectancy. It probably warped his body a bit using that stuff.

Hero characters are getting bigger, but rank n file troops not that much.

I know that this one is super flexed, but it's not that much bigger. Next to the new zombies or skeletons flagellants are not much smaller.

Im really hoping for it to be Swamp/Forest themed. Something akin to the Ewoks structures on the Forest Moon of Endor in Return of the Jedi.

well that's basically the ash wastes terrain but with more leaves

Don't mind me just been reading into things way too much trying to gleam any information for Seraphon from the new Warcry teaser. So in the trailer we have the "comets" falling from the sky as well as trailer saying folks are there to "uncover ancient secrets" all are in theme for Seraphon. The Gnarlwood is however super close to one of the Ogor mawtribes area.

It would be beyond amazing if warcry had warbands for some of the factions that have been waiting on new models for awhile.

well... talking about new warbands for a "new edition" set in Ghur...

there is a posterboy army that is always in starter sets, and that has one subfaction that has been into the Gnarlwood and come back alive...

I think time has arrived for Stormhost specific models...
