  1. I've written some stuff that contradicts what I believe are the principles that determine what gets made to order, but I want to believe XD

    • Iconic/Nostalgic
    • Has a profile on the army list
    • Is not a named character

    Dwarves:

    • Gotrek & Felix
    • gyrocopter
    • Thorgrim
    • Bugman

    High Elves:

    • "snake dragon" (Imrik)
    • Tyrion & Teclis
    • Griffon (Eltharion)

    Chaos:

    • Two Headed Dragon (Galrauch)
    • Slambo
    • Harry the hammer
    • random assortment of champions

    Beastman:

    • Minotaurs

    Wood Elves

    • 4th ed "snake dragon"
    • Orion & Ariel
    • Treemen
    • Metal Dryads

    Empire

    • Halfling Hot-pot
    • Steam Tank
    • Knight Grandmasters
    • War Altar
    • Knights Panther/White Wolf, etc..
    • Forgeworld stuff from Black Pass

I struggle to see it as anything but a cold-hearted business decision. Putting old kits back in production is free money in so far as it makes additional profit from molds that have already paid for themselves. I understand that reusing many old kits might have been a necessary thing to do to get the TOW project greenlit at all, but "Hey, look at all those nostalgic models" is just post-fact marketing spin, IMO.

totally agree, but its weird when gw tends to prioritise updating core troops when there is a range refresh.

Exactly what I was hoping for in therms of investment going with a "relaunched" TOW Range (here : Bretonnia).

3 resin foot Heroes (Sorceress, Paladin, Banner), 2 resin mounted Heroes (Banner and Named Lady), 1 plastic Big Kit with options, 1 plastic Infantry Kit with options

... even if the Knights on foot only have 5 bodies ...

Men at arms, Bowmen, Knights and Pegasus Knights in plastic : ok but the new Pegasus and Knights on Foot look 10000 better the the current Knights and Pegasus and are bigger.Trebuchet in FW resin is ok. If this is the entire launch range then no metal kits as of now will return for Bretonnia (the article probably refers to other ranges who'll get metal models). The Grail reliquary would be a good candidate for Direct Only Metal tbh.

I hope the launch in Q1 is a real launch, not just a box with no other support ...

"Alongside these new and returning kits which form the bulk (or entirety) of your force, there will also be a selection of returning metal heroes and specialist units that will be available to order direct from games-workshop.com. "

metal stuff is coming for everyone... hopefully not on made to order

Foot knights are bigger? I think it was suggested that the kit is compatible with mounted knights. It would be a nice touch, so older models can get some glow up this way.

About starter box , stormcast can stay on AoS starter box as they are poster boy .
but it would be nice if they use different faction for underworld  and warcry starter boxes . I don’t see why stormcast should be on those 2 games starter boxes

Warcry just has had 1 big box with stormcast and it wasn't the "core box".

On the underworlds side, of 9 seasons just 4 boxes had stormcast (not counting the 2 begginer boxes), so it's not really that bad

  5. remember that the main change between warhammer fantasy and AoS is that now they have an ongoing narrative. Each narrative arc kicks off with a new editon, gets expanded with some one shot books and battletomes and gets a finale in a series of campaign books.

It really doesn't matter if they made up the stories because they designed some new toys or if its the other way around. We get the story to advance and new minis.

And inbetween all this releases we get more fluff, sidestories and explore the realms in the boxed games...

So as everyone has said, we'll get new models, range refreshes and at some point some housekeeping when there are too many references that can be handled/make bussiness sense.

Nop, we are waiting for one

ok, now I'm really lost XD

so... they released an starter box (vanguard stormcast vs skeletons) on June, and soon are releasing the Slaanesh vs Idoneth "core" box... and there is another starter box announced?

Is this the Barnes&Noble box (Ironsoul vs Skeletons) or another thing?

I think maybe they were planning to put them in the 2nd Harbingers book ala LRL in BR Teclis and decided against it. Which was the right decision, to be fair.

If I understood it well, the content of the pdf is also in the book (like they did with lumineth)

and the book also has the regiment of renown rules

I think it’s a brand new Warscroll for Ardboyz so technically you wouldn’t be able to use the old models. Looks like GW are phasing out some old models in readiness to resell for The Old World. Really curious what this means for Skaven.

If the idea is to just place on the Old World Store the active supported armies, problably old skaven units that get replaced (at some point they should be!) in a rework will just get shelved until Skaven are considered active supported. Maybe could get some made to order stuff, but I don't think they could get more than that.

From the "core factions" list, I believe the only ones that haven't been featured on any photo are Warriors of Chaos and Beastmen.

From the latest episode of Loremasters re the coin malleus.

"Even some supposed allies are disturbed by the presence of so many Sigmarites, such as the groves of the most bitter hearted and isolationist of the sylvaneth who may respond aggressively to hordes of mortals cutting down forests for fuel and timber on their way through."

Maybe a hint as to why if it is the ghyran crusade that fails.

It could be, but I think the main purpose of this kind of narratives is to set a status quo where all factions despite being in the same alliance have an ingame reason to fight each other

The Monsta-Killaz were revealed a while ago. Feels like if they were part of a dual-box they'd have shown it by now, whereas the Wildercorps were probably shown off because the CoS Battletome was inevitably going to 'spoil' it anyway.

Remember we got the Chaos Legionnaires as a random, standalone box too.

but the only difference is going to be if monsta killaz are released in a dual box or standalone.

We're not going to get MK + another dual box

What does the lore say about Ogor skintones? Does anyone have pictures of the grey studio army? Sorry, been doing a little research about Ogors since these Gorgers.

from 6th ed army book (I think there is a slight green tint from the scans)

the skin recipe on the army book is

Graveyard earth+ Shadow Grey base. Highlights mixing in Kommando Khaki. Final highlights with Bleached Bone.

Current colors are: Steel Legion Drab, The Fang, Karak Stone and Ushabti Bone.

    • Blood World - Vampires, since we had that Rumour Engine a while back which aligned perfectly to the old models. It sure as hell won't be Chaos Dwarfs.

wasn't that rumour the one that ended being one of the Claws of Karnak minis?
