    This is probably very silly.

but that non existent miniature in the display cabinet is not only huge by comparison but also has a very distinctive shape. My heart says this is gw trolling us about Kragnos. My head says it’s just GW trolling us about nothing.

That would be amazing if they hid a teaser in something like this. To be honest I can see the resemblance. Even threw some sort of dragon in for scale to showoff how big Kragnos is.

Do you think we can expect some normal points for Cursed City Death units? I mean other than 680 points for the whole hero pack? It's basically unplayable on any other than total amateur level.

I think GW is in a bit of a pickle here. If they make these guys fieldable on their own, and good enough that someone actually wants to take them, as it is you're already asking people to buy a high priced box to get them. Then, what do they do in 3 years when the box is no longer available? They can't release the models individually because of the way the sprues are designed. Best they could do is sell a Gobapallooza style box with a bunch of them together.

With all the Ulfenkarn sculpts (I just count them among those as they fit thematically) recalling the look of WHFB much more than many of the other new forces, could it be that Shyish is the realm most like the Old World and will become a haven for those that enjoyed the feel of the old fluff? 🤔

I can see that for a couple reasons.

    1. A skeleton is a skeleton. A dead body/zombie is a dead body/zombie. It is easy to port these visually to a connection to the old world because they are familiar aesthetics.

    2. Nagash recreated Old World characters, and they set up cities the way they remember them. Vampires are somewhat timeless beings so less likely to take sharp left turns in their character/lore/look.

    3. Shyish is grounded in its vibe from the undead. As a result, it draws in classic undead opponents as adversaries like the Order of Azyr. These adversaries naturally tap into familiar lore and aesthetics than transcend AoS as well and will feel similar to Old World fans.

Bottom line, the undead offer something to grasp onto for someone predisposed to performing the cognitive dissonance jumps to rationalize "hey look this isn't that different from that other thing I liked."

I wonder if the Order of Azyr might be our 'new' box faction for 3.0?

If it is vs Orruks, it seems unlikely they'll suddenly break up Warclans after putting them together rather than make a new 'order' faction separate from CoS with the Order of Azyr - rolling in the Cursed City humans, our new Take Your Daughter To Work day Hunters and expanding further with 3.0?

I mean, after all, the bottom seems to imply something significant to the plot will be the reason why they're running around with the BR teaser?

It would be received much better than Stormcast showing up in the box again, which is why I believe that's not what GW is planning. I know that companies like to think they know what their customers want better than their customers do, but seriously GW, no one is clamoring for Stormcast again!

Was not expecting new witch hunters!

Wow GW is just brilliantly tying in Cursed City, Soulblight, and Order of Azyr across Warhammer Quest, AoS, and Underworlds to time them all to maximize desire to just buy all of it!

Nothing cool or even close to competitive for city of these new heroes.

0 aura or comand skills, only combat heroes that  are useless.(even gotrek who is the best combat heroe isnt competitive)

While I'll never get why GW is opposed to making underworlds warbands decent in AoS, I'm totally ok with them not expecting people to buy a full boxed game to get a specific hero for their army that is "must have" competitively.

my GW store just put out an announcement that Cursed City will be a limited edition product, anyone else heard anything similar?

GW the actual company has responded dozens of times to this question saying it isn't limited. Your store probably made a mistake/misunderstood/misspoke.

She may be standing in a bit of a squat. It's a weird pose anyway, and the cloth in front of the chest makes no sense.

I've heard the resemblance to a christmas tree (basically three triangles on top of one another), and can see it. Especially with the candles or star at the top.

Yeah I think the massive (even for heroic scale) hands and the squat pose are far worse sins than the face sculpt. I hope GW somehow gets the feedback on bad sculpts like this (because if the rules are good people will buy it anyways).

Have we only officially seen 2/8 objective markers to this point? Keycritter and helpful skeleton

I had started to assume they were multiples of the same

We've seen 2 different skeletons hung on posts, 2 gargoyles, and at least 1 grave marker (presumably there's a second) and at least 1 crow on post (probably a 2nd one of those too). I think that just leaves one pair of objectives that hasn't been spotted (or do I recall something like a treasure chest being seen as well)?

I imagine it'll be post Beastgrave that Warcry gets a focus back.

That Skaven symbol gives me hope that we'll end up with plastic Eshin through Warcry, at the very least.

Based on the (albeit Covid delayed) release of Catacombs, it seemed like GW was setting up Warcry to run on annual seasons similar to Underworlds. Since we haven't seen any of the 8 warbands on the map yet I guess that is definitely not the plan now (if it ever was).

IS there any concrete evidence of a 3.0 coming? I hope there is, but I haven't seen anything substantiated yet.  I could just be a pile of Broken realms books as band aids all year.

I do think we need a new edition. Bringing in something similar to the  the newer 40 K terrain rules and crusade rules would be nice. Some general army balancing would be nice, shooty armies are getting a bit too powerful, and the older Orruk/stormcast units just don't have the punch that the newer codex infantry have.

I think we can make plenty of reasonable assumptions without "concrete" evidence.

    - The most recent new editions for 40k and AoS were both at roughly the 3 year anniversary (a milestone we hit for AoS 2.0 this year).

    - GW tends to launch story arcs that lead into new editions (Malign Portents and Psychic Awakening). Broken Realms is very much following the patterns GW has established here (short stories and narrative books with some model release tie ins).

    - The pace of Broken Realms releases is accelerating, just like Psychic Awakening did in the rush to get 9th out.

    - All AoS armies have essentially received a 2.0 book.

They also have the Corpse Cart, which I always wanted and never had the excuse to buy. Now if they make a deadwalker subfaction or something, it will be my wallet's ruin. Also, probably the zombie ogors of Cursed City will be deadwalker too right?

I bet they update the corpse cart sculpt just like the Nighthaunt got an updated Black Coach (and OBR got that Harvester).

I would assume that branches growing out of bodies are the new general zombie aesthetic and that these guys and the tomb stone zombies are separate, distinct units. Would be good, because before Deadwalkers had only Zombies and Direwolves. They would definitely need more units to become a real subfaction.

I would be shocked if they're separate units. I think they're just alternate sculpts (and I love the variety offered by alternate sculpts!).

Alright, that looks like it's hinting at the deets of the likely BR: Alarielle.

Sylvaneth (led by Alarielle) vs. Nurgle (led by Horticulus Slimex) vs. Soulblight (led by Mannfred) in Ghur? Based in Invidia specifically, around the Bleeding Gate realmgate more specifically? With a strong suggestion from that last line that Mannfred is involved in order to sow disorder or set up a fall for Alarielle or something.

How do you guys interpret Manfred's final line about intending to make sure his task is insurmountable? Not sure if it is related at all but the Belakor story seemed to play with the theme of doing the impossible too.

Holy ******, we really gonna get a Gravelords reveal ain't we?!

    Breathe... Just breathe.

Even if it is a bunch of silhouettes like that first Lumineth video, looks like there will be at least some full models shown!

Great finnally we gonna get a real kit of zombies and not the ugly zombies of cursed city

Ye of little faith that were afraid we'd only get the cursed city zombies!

I actually love the narrative design of the cursed city zombies but 100% agree that it would have been a big miss to have them as the only zombie models as all that stuff on their back is just too over the top for full units, especially in a pitched battle setting.

Note that something similar was said with the Kurnothi, which is now expanded with the decidedly Wanderer looking Quest hero.

Sure but that was also just the name "Kurnothi", which is akin to "Ossiarch Bonereapers." This is a much more narrowly defined name that implies a specific unit type within the army "Mortisian Executioner."

This sentence: "This is the first time that we’ve seen a Mortisan Executioner in the Mortal Realms, and as you might expect from someone who carries such a big axe, he’s pretty handy in a fight" makes me believe that there is going to be either a future unit or a future heroe called "Mortisan Executioner". And probably the archers too.

Agreed that is definitely a trademarked unit name reference (since he won't be called that in the Underworlds game proper). Also agree with others that this is my favorite OBR model to date. Much more menacing.
