So nothing saying it isn't coming out in March.

I thought I missed something that said it was coming in the summer or something.

Nothing other than all of GW's past history...

It isn't coming in March. I'd be happy to take that bet any day.

    Did I miss something?

Why does the coin this month being for the Ash wastes mean that GW is 6 months off course?

March has only just begun, why can't Ash wastes be released this month?

They teased it in the new year preview and they generally only show stuff within a 3 month window.

    1. They haven't shown any of the models yet.

    2. Their teaser articles say things like "in the coming months" and "later this year."

Frost grave looks awesome! I'll deffinitly be picking them up! The warrior box would be perfect for having a bunch of bandits to swarm pcs.

So in the end with Soulblight I will have the battleforce box, cursed city, a start collecting flesheater corpse and MAAAAAAYBE nagash if I am still in a skeleton mood after all that.. Anyone have any recommendations on what to build from those models? (aka lauka vai vs vengorian lore, should the zombie dragon have a prince on it, etc). Are there any other models that would help tie it together or should those work?

Heads up that the re-release of Cursed City was just announced as an upcoming 2 week made to order event.

EDIT: GW said it will also receive a full re-release later in the year so you don't have to jump on the order in March if you aren't ready.

  4. Interesting the 2nd Black Library short on the "Hollow King" vampire released today. I wonder if this is a figure we'll continue to see. Would be nice to get some more AoS black library minis at some point too! It seems like such a missed opportunity to not merge the minis with the lore a bit more.

I agree. The only Underworlds cards I've seen are Blackpowders and boy does that art not look great. In almost every image if you told me Blackpowder was a Duardin instead of an Ogor I would believe you.

Hit or miss. They also produced this awesome card in the same Blackpoweders set.

I recommend that you look at Warcry instead of a full AoS army. It's a GW skirmish game in the same setting as AoS with a much better encounter scale for D&D (5-20 models). You can collect many many Warcry bands for the same price as an AoS army. If you really end up enjoying a specific faction and the hobby, then start expanding into an actual army.

Leapfrogging on this, the new Warcry Tome of Champions 2021 just added all the Underworlds warbands which are great sets to sample a bit from each army (Sepulchral guard is a nice set of skeletons, new Ogre pirate is a nice big character that comes with a crew of goblins and animals on 25m bases, rumor is a warband of necromancer and zombies is coming next, etc., etc.).

Other than telling us what those 826 people play as their primary army, it tells us nothing else.

I wouldn't draw any assumptions from that very small sample size.

826 people is not at all a small sample size statistically. Nationwide polls are often conducted with similar survey sizes and the population of AoS players is relatively much smaller. The margin of error should be pretty good. The more relevant question is "is there a bias or skew to the type of player that would respond to this survey?"

  8. I'm willing to work around the base size issue (and certainly things like zombies and skeletons are no brainers!). I'm fairly familiar with the model options but am really most curious if I'm overlooking any neat bitz that could serve as interesting scatter features/artifacts to discover/story pieces (like the aforementioned chained up Vamp from the black coach.

  9. Curious if anyone has any favorite Age of Sigmar miniatures for interesting use in DnD. In particular, I'm curious about any interesting bits.

For example, I picked up the chained Vampire/coffin from the new Black Coach, and grabbed Vokmortian for his interesting rune-engraved sarcophagus and severed had pole. I also like the hanged skeletons from Cursed City and am excited to pick up the new Scriptor Mortis.

Obviously there's so many pieces and models that could fit well but curious if this is something others have thought about or have other recommendations I might not have considered.

Looks like the new Warcry will be continuing its journey within the Eightpoints, this time with Siege Battbles 👀

"This mighty Tome also includes all the rules you need to stage showstopping siege battles, which see you team up with allies to assail settlements in the Eightpoints, including the legendary Chaos city of Carngrad."

Does anyone else find siege rules in a low model skirmish game extremely odd?

  11. Surprised no one has mentioned this but does anyone else think the Scriptor Mortis seems to take some design cues from the Mourngul? I wonder if there's any chance of a plastic Mourngul or something like it in the future to give Nighthaunt a monster.

There's the Warhammer World 25th Anniversary events at the beginning of March that replaced the usual New Years one from before the pandemic.

I forgot about that! I wonder if it will be a normal reveal or if there will somehow be a "throwback" theme to it.
