  1. I like buying them on the Azyr app so you can load the faction rules into "My Battle" and see your spells, artifacts, etc. in one place above your warscroll cards in the app, as well as having the battalion rules actually show up in the app. The battletomes themselves don't actually get updated however, which is very frustrating.

actually you don't use them as a ranged units but you use their 3 inches meele range (what the f*ck their meele bows have 3 inches range, my dracolines don't have that or slaneeshi seekers with their giant glaives have 2 inch range) and  you ignore normal pile in rules SO what do you do? Rules loophole!   Watch the time stamp https://youtu.be/DfK73qp_nuc?t=15989

Basically windchargers are a mediocre skirmish unit but an amazing NPE overload.  (that -2 rend on the bow is just an icing on a  cake)

I think the 3" melee range on the Windchargers and Spirit of the Wind is supposed to represent firing quick shots at close range, not literally smacking with the bows, which is why the spirit's melee profile is the exact same as the ranged but with fewer attacks. Why the windcharger bows are -2 rend in melee is beyond me though, I'm guessing that's a mistake.

Regarding the video, that is a disgusting interaction by charging two units that I haven't thought about. I'm wondering if this book was made with future AoS 3.0 rules in mind. Also, what was the "golden age" of piling in rules they mentioned? I can't remember a point where what they were talking about in example 2 was not possible, assuming 6" activation and 6" pile in.

why do you have to lie? they don't let you summon 30 daemonettes, If they wipe your unit you don't get those depravity points.

another LRL propaganda  "they won't break the game" well sure but are they NPE? Yes. IT is not only about the pure power level.

"LRL propaganda" good lord, I'm glad I'm not in the same playgroup as a lot of folks in this thread. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the people acting like the sky is falling have even played many games, let alone against Lumineth.

Ever had a 40 man block of skeletons you just wiped out immediately be resummoned in the next hero phase? Tried to push a blob of mortek backed by a harvester off an objective? Have 2k points of kharadron dropped right in front of your face turn 1? Have varanguard fight 3 times in the same turn? Fight 2.5k+ points of daemons or seraphon in a 2k game? Every army has one or several effects you could complain about, OR you could figure out how to beat them, just like when any new army is released.

  4. A super fluffy, 2 temple list I'm looking to build towards:

    Windmage
    2x5 Windchargers
    Spirit of the Wind

    Stonemage
    1x10 Stoneguard
    Spirit of the Mountain

    Lord Regent
    2x10 Wardens
    2x10 Sentinels

    1990pts

So there's a Hurakan, Alarith, and Vanari "detachment", no named characters so all "your guys", lots of bodies, and seems really fun to play. Thinking Syar as a generic nation that benefits all groups.

Some interesting stuff. Are the Bladelords worth using? 2+ bodyguard rule is pretty good, but not getting additional dmg bonuses from anything seems meh. I guess their niche is bodyguarding and they’re good at it. 120pts though. Hmmm.

Lord Regent seems pretty good, though do they get a command ability?

I like the Ballista and Loreseeker the most, a little disappointed with the bannerblade, but he seems good.

Overall though these units seem fun from these theories, intrigued to see them all properly written down to digest fully.

I have to imagine the "theory" about bladelords is missing something. There's no way they don't have the sunmetal weapons rule. Not being a wizard would be strange as a vanari unit, and what about Ailenn's extra defense vs ranged attacks in underworlds? As it is they, stoneguard are just better in almost every respect. I REALLY hope there's more to them.

I've played against them 6 times so far and it was the most unfun experience I'Ve ever had in all of AoS. They lost 3 games and it is not about power.
I refuse to play against this nonsense of an army that is taking the fun out of the game while turning it to a "look at what I can do: ALL OF IT" nonsense and I will ban them from any tournament (which are semi-competetive) in order for everyone  having a good time not puting up with this.

Things lumineth can't do that other factions can: Resurrect models, fight at the start of the combat phase, force a unit to fight last, teleport, fight twice in a turn, summon new units to the table, etc. There's loads of things that they cannot do that are often "uninteractive" that other armies can.

Being able to fall back out of combat with your ranged units before your opponent can attack, thereby making them not even eligible to activate - not even as a command ability or relic or something, but just a base ability - is going to cause a lot of frustration, especially combined with the double activations the faction already gets. Basically you can only fight one hurakan unit per round unless you can make them fight last, the rest'll just run away. I'm not sure it's actually overpowered, but I'm really not sure what LRL needed was another way to troll the opponent by making them unable to do anything to you.

You won't be able to fall back out of combat if they charged you. You could mitigate the number of models that get to attack, but with only a 3" move away they can still just pile into you when they activate.

The dragon on the time looks different to our current one however I’d argue that the current zombie dragon/terrogheist isn’t looking too old

The head is really the only part thats very different, but the rider looks identical to the current kit.

I am super excited that the Gravelords are basically all the Legions of Nagash stuff that didn't get incorporated into Bonereapers, since I probably have about 2k of what will be in the battletome already!

    Smaug-Sized on Dracothion 😍

Srsly though: both would need to be separate. Also if Sigmar ever joined the fray, his rules would almost certainly be underwhelming. I‘d rather him empower the Celestant prime.

It is important to remember that "Gods" in this setting aren't nearly as powerful as you'd often think. Katakros held his own against Sigmar himself in a duel, and not even Gal Maraz could permamently slay him. I don't think there's anything in the lore that says Sigmar is any more powerful than Nagash, Teclis, Tyrion, Alarielle, etc., all of whom have playable models.

Does that remove any possibility of teclis book this month? Was the dark eldar codex 20th for preorder or release i forgot.

I suppose there's a chance that the Dark Eldar Codex and BR: Teclis both release on the same day to "catch up" but unfortunately I'm guessing Lumineth are pushed back to April.

So basically like Sisters of the Watch?

We are approaching a point of imbalance in the game where the community needs to get involved. Kroak, Sentinels, Hearthguard, Fly High, Flamers, Snake Ladies and Eels need immediate action.

20% temporary point hike on the named units until a FAQ hits. We did it before with Swedish comp and we can do it again if necessary.

No, because Sisters can put out double the shots and can shoot when charged. It's almost as if they *aren't* the same unit.

Go for it, I agree they should go up in points, but changing the warscroll AND the points would be too much, as I said.

Yes i have said it manh times.

Sentinels do mortal wound on wound rolls and cost 160

Kroak cant extend the range of his broken spell by no means and cost 400

Sentinels would be terrible at 160 with MW on wound rolls, one or the other would be fine.

The no-LOS shot could also be changed to once per game, or make the Lofted shots require you to not move that turn.

I think Tyrion will get his own broken realms book in a year or so with wave 3 of Lumineth. Probably will have chariots,  war machines and more vanari units along with the water temple.

While I would love that, the army certainly feels like a full range now and I'd prefer them expand other factions before giving Lumineth more goodies

  14. I'm struggling in deciding on unit sizes for battleline. The parts of my list that I've decided are:

    Teclis
    Cathallar + Auralan Legion
    10x Dawnriders

    Then I'm split between:

    2x20 Wardens
    2x10 Sentinels
    VS
    3x10 Wardens
    3x10 Sentinels

I'm leaning towards the latter, but I'm worried that A) blocks of 10 wardens will die to a stiff breeze, B) 30 sentinels is pushing it in terms of keeping it fun for the opponent. On the other hand, with the 20 man blobs, I'm worried that they will be too clunky with Shining Company. Anyone have any experience running either, or have any feelings about the fun factor of 30 sentinels?
