Well that is interesting. Wonder when they will start showing off the new LRL or the book or box?

New Model Monday next week...? One can hope...

    220 for sentinels?

Weren't there rumors that they were being nerfed and had their points reduced?

There is no way Sentinels are 220 and Teclis is 950 unless every other army is getting extraordinary points increases as well.

    • Give more tools to capture objectives with basic troops: GOOD
    • Try to fix the Coherency rules with the option to attack in two ranks: GOOD
    • A battalion to kill basic troops with other battlelines: GOOD why?
    • A tool to attack earlier in the fight phase vs Elite-troops (ambush): GOOD why?
    • Give some armies a power-level when they kill strong units: GOOD again, why?
    • Some kind of structure to build armies: GOOD
    • Some kind of structure to build battalions: GOOD
    • Keywords for heavy interactions ON the table: GOOD huh?

I'm not sure how half of these actually make the game better in any way. The first two are definitely improvements, but most of the rest just seem like changing the game for the sake of "mixing it up", which just adds confusion between mission packs. The changes in this pack in particular seem like they should be core rules changes, not changes that only apply for specific missions, but GW isn't willing to go all-in on them just yet and wants you to pay for an extra book each year to test them out.

Looks like I'm taking Namarti Reavers then, given those changes I'd rather extra shots over MWs.

I wouldn't make judgements like this based on one line paraphrasing changes to a single unit in an entire new book. For all you know, they're 2 shots each now.

Love the sound of these rules. Turning the board into a overgrown forest and dissappearing from combat is crazy powerful.

    Bring it on!!

Teleporting out of combat is nuts, but it's a lot easier to deny the sylvaneth player teleports now since you just have to be within 3" of the overgrown terrain/wyldwood.

Lmao another order battletome this year.

Guess which order factions haven’t had WD updates or a 3.0 tome:

    Sylvaneth

    and

    Lumineth

    🤣

Cannot wait to feed on the salty tears of lrl wave 4

I've dealt with enough hate for playing Lumineth that I can endure some more if it means I get my hippo spirits

  7. So after many years of service, my Mannfred (and Arkhan/Neferata) finally snapped at the tail and can no longer support itself, even with my (admittedly mediocre) pinning job. Does anyone have any experience adding a flying stand or extra ruins to the base to support the weight with something that is the appropriate height? All the flying stands I have from are too short. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

We all know Sentinels need their warscroll kicked in the teeth. So it's not fair to compare them to the ghost lads. I'm super happy these guys aren't the NPE powerhouse we all feared they might be.

It makes a lot more sense that ghosts could shoot through walls than it does for elves to do it just because they have a dumb bird.

Nah, they just need a slight adjustment, they've been kicked in the teeth with points nerfs and the priority target system already. Making the no-LoS shot a once-per-game ability or making the 30" range shot only be able to trigger mortals on 6s would be enough (and would warrant a points decrease).

Raw a unit of 5 with All out Attack will do around 2 wounds against a 4+ save.

    Yeah it's trash.

Raw 5 sentinels will do even less, but lets go ahead and jump to conclusions!

    50€ for each lumineth troop.

and same 50 for swordmasters and hammerelves, call me crazy but 10€ for every litle elf is waaay too much for me :(

Just a heads up, if you are looking to buy a minimum of 10 stoneguard, 10 wardens, and 10 sentinels, the lumineth warcry box is actually a great deal.

Archaon and Nagash now can be killed reasonably (aka without 60 Lumineth Archers)

Sentinels are terrible against Archaon and Nagash due to their 4+ wards vs Mortal Wounds. Also, I haven't seen a single competitive lists that brings 60 sentinels.

I'm going to pick on you for a sec here so I apologize, but comments like this are everywhere on AoS forums, completely exaggerating both the output and misinterpreting/misrepresenting the actual issues with the game right now - to the point that hating on certain armies/units is a complete meme lacking any actual constructive commentary. The increasing popularity of content creators like Vince Venturella (who is way overconfident in his often bad takes) leads to opinions about top level comptetive play trickling down to casual players who don't understand the game well enough to be criticizing balance.

    /rant

Anyways, I think +20 points and the unleash hell nerf will bring Sentinels to a good place competitively.

Seems like we didn't get hit hard by the nerfhammer.

    Sentinels up, rest down?

Yeah, I'm especially shocked Spirits of the Wind still can move 12" in your opponent's shooting phase.

Overall, adds 60-80 points to competitive lists, which will bring them down a peg, but in casual games people will still be whining...

Hope so, that book needs some serious rewrite to ****** teclis and sentinels and get some internal balance.

Sentinels for sure need a rules adjustment ("no LoS shot" only once per game?) but Teclis is fine where he is.

Anyways, as much as I would understand the frustration when (not if) Lumineth get another release, I *do* really want to see Tyrion...
