Maybe the reason Seraphon and Slaves have yet to be updated is because these two may be the next starter box / main plot armies.

Natural enemies if I'm not mistaken...

Seraphon are the ying to Chaos yang in the lore right?

Seems to me that updating these two at the same time makes sense.

    Just speculation.

If you mean a new box like Looncurse, maybe.
But if that's the case, shouldn't the Battletomes come first?
Besides 40k's Shadowspear I believe all of those boxes have been repacks of old kits (plus new heroes). And I think at least Seraphons deserve a few new kits that mix with some of their current ones, a la Gloomspite.

If it's a proper starter box (ie. 3rd edition) I'd bet it'll be Stormcast vs. Destruction.
As we first had Stormcasts vs. Chaos and now Stormcasts vs. Death.

Skyrgots has always seemed to be a bit like skyskaven - ergo neat ideas that are more thrown out there to encourage someone to go buy a load of two armies and build their own conversions based on the KO models (esp since a lot of those sky factions are described as having gained their skyships by stealing and modifying KO ones).

They might also be the sort of things that could be fleshed out if GW ever does a warmaster scale game for AoS or a Man-O-War style game. Ergo games where big skyships and dragons and leviathans and such work within the game well.

    You mean Skyven?

I also don't think we'll get more skyship factions. But I'd love to.

Based on your track record I think it best that you tell us what army you're collecting now.

And darn that is some terribly rough luck too! :(

Second this, please tell us your AoS army 😂

Rumours wise as we are approaching the end of battletome 2.0 sequence do you guys think/heard in 2020 we can expect something similar to the psychic awakening with maybe few new models for each army? Or how many new armies we can expect in 2020? So far the record has been once per year if I’m not wrong with Idoneth last year, Kharadron the year before and I guess Fyreslayers and Stormcast the first year. Do you think we will have more? Or revisited existing sub-factions instead?

So far we have many Aelves related rumours from the most recent Kurnothi to light and dark Aelves. I doubt they would all come the same year. That leaves space for something new maybe in the Gruttbag Scuttlers?

This time I've gone for the save army and I have some Stormcast Eternals just in case. 😂
I also have Nighthaunt, Skaven and Gloomspite....

So all 4 Grand Alliances are screwed?

    Kislev.

    Dogs of War.

    Fimir.

Then there are the chunks within armies.

Wood Elf chariots and bolt throwers.

    Skeletons with great weapons.

    Zoats.

    And so on.

Squats are indeed the biggest example, but GW does have a history of making your purchase and hobby time spent on those purchases wasted.

Not bitter, just pointing out that the company is not averse to taking our toys away.

I started with HeroQuest, I always wated some Fimir for Warhammer. As an army, or as orc bosses.
Then I got into wargaming with 40K 2.Ed and I choose to play Squats.
In Fantasy, my first army were Bretonians. I was always buying single blisters from many armies, so when they released Dogs of War it was the perfect army for my. And I went big into it.
And when I came back to Fantasy, I went with Tomb Kings. And we got the End Times in a few months...

I don't know what I did, but GW is clearly after me. 😂

Pile in rule : "A unit can make a pile-in move if it is within 3" of an enemy unit or has made a charge move in the same turn. If this is the case, you can move each model in the unit up to 3". Each model must finish its pile-in move at least as close to the nearest enemy model as it was at the start of the move."

    Anvil's CA :

"You can use this command ability in your hero phase. If you do so, pick a friendly ANVILS OF THE HELDENHAMMER unit wholly within 9" of a friendly ANVILS OF THE HELDENHAMMER HERO, or wholly within 18" of a friendly ANVILS OF THE HELDENHAMMER HERO that is a general. That unit can attack with all of the missile weapons it is armed with, or make a pile-in move and attack with all of the melee weapons it is armed with."

As we must use the CA during the hero phase, the "made a charge move" requirement doesn't apply to us. But does the 3" rule ?
    Surely we can't make a 12 inch" pile move :D ?

The "within 3" of an enemy unit" should be met, as the "made a charge move" can´t.  And as per the rule, "you can move each model in the unit up to 3"".

  6. I'm a fan of d8s and d10s as they allow for more design space in the stats, and with d10s it's way easier to calculate the percentage chance. But I don't think GW will ever use anything but d6 in on of their "core" games.

The best option would be to use 2d6 as a base, if you want to make it less random. So for abilities that make 1d6 damage, changing that to 2d3 would be a good compromise.

So by that logic, Nighthaunts' count as human?  Glad to know they will totally be included in the (hopefully) upcoming Cities of Sigmar Battle Tome.

Don't be silly! They're not an Order army!
But if you ask me about their origin I'd say that yes, they're the souls of humans.

very unlikely, every other god has atleast 1 dedicated battletome, why would the 2 most important aelven factions be 1 tome (even though they have never been mentioned together before, and come from 2 completely different realms) when daughters of khaine who are a re barely there get their own tome (if anything DoK will be absorbed by shadow aelves as both Morathy and Malerion rule Uglu and they both make use of shadow beasts and such and are mentioned as working together in the lore, a much more likely combination then light and shadow shareing a single tome)

Because now it seems that GW is merging factions?
It could very well be a single elven book, and later phasing out DoK and merging it on the second release of the mixed aelves.

As for the WLV discussion, using it as a roadblock is nice and definitely still worth it, but I think if you can pull off the Skitterleap + Gnawhole trick to get it in their deployment then I would still aim for that if a good opportunity arises. Some people are going to feel a lot safer with clumping their deployments together now if they aren't aware of this combination.

    What's the trick?

  10. No, no, no. It totally is THE RETURN. We're getting Tomb King Stormcasts.

Fact: GW always has Stormcasts in their boxes with new models.
We can say that GW wants the Stormcast to RULE.

Fact: The teaser art shows a half Stormcast. half Undead face.
That 99.99% confirms a unit with links to Order and Death.

Fact: The tomb in the teaser video has kinda egyptian mottifs.
It's a TOMB! And who better to RULE than a KING?

Fact!: I really want Egyptian Stormcast.

Any other conclusion is whislisting, These are the facts.

then I realised that @HorticulusTGA must be right and these are npcs. This has me even more excited for the game as there are any number of chaotic beasts they could throw into the mix as the game develops. It also means there are still 4 warbands we have yet to see minis for. One of them must be the fighters with the spiked halos in this picture Screenshot_2019-03-13-12-20-45.png.834ec2a0704e650e8d5094accd98c05e.png

You can see one on the left facing the guy from the starter set, the jumping female fighter and the tomb king looking one in the background.

You also have the fighter with wings on the right who is clearly not a harpy. He may be from a fourth faction.

Those are Stormcasts of Doom. So the last warband icon.

  12. With AoS Skirmish and Underworlds, there are options to play AoS "but with fewer minis" if you want.

This "Necromunda but Fantasy" looks really cool to me.  As a kid, Fantasy was lacking in cool barbarians. And now we have them!
Can't wait to make a MotU inspired warband 😁
