  1. Sorry if this was addressed but ;  I’m assuming there are more models coming down the pike for the faction. Will there be another codex released at that time as well? Seems very odd to me they’d have an incomplete book and make us buy a new one when phase two releases.

apologies if this doesn’t make sense but I’m on two hours sleep haha

  2. Is anybody else worried about all the thin and fiddly bits being delicate or snapping off in transport? How are you all planning to work around this for transport and display?

Those spears and ribbons look like a nightmare. I’m going back and forth with myself over this and 40k indomitus and continuing my tau or starting a cities of Sigmar force eventually haha

  3. I’m an old Empire general from way back in 98,  when the Halfling Hot Pot and War Wagon were still kicking around and you could kill someone if you filled a sock with all the metal models and hit them with it.

that said, I’m wondering if it’s possible and/or worthwhile to create a functional and fun pure Empire army with this codex and rule set. I’ve read CoS are best served as an amalgamation, but I really just want to recreate the ranks of brightly colored infantry, shining knights, smokey artillery pieces, and magic and mighty heroes leading them.

will this army stand the test of time, or will it get blasted or charged off the table time and again until it makes its way to the bin (or eBay)? I may have to settle for waiting on the upcoming Old World Warhammer launch methinks.

  4. The brets were my first mini war gaming army way back in 1998 when a friend and I split the 5th edition starter box. To say I would love to have them back in their glory would be an understatement.

I just can’t see their aesthetic and play style fitting into AoS though, especially given FEC and CoS. I will say though Idoneth Deepkin kind of mimics them with their eel cavalry and vulnerable infantry.

I have a fear that new Fantasy will simply provide rules for old, existing models but hopefully I’m wrong. Bretonnians seem very popular in Warhammer Total War so there’s always hope.

  5. 5th edition empire was more inclusive of elves and dwarves; it wasn’t until 6th edition GW streamlined them into almost total human focus. If anything, this tome allows for the vintage empire feel more than the recent Empire iterations did.

Nothing like an alliance of Dwarves, Elves, and Men to fight evil. Til men ****** it up that is...

  6. So last week must have been the scheduled preorder, with the original release yesterday; the digital retailer must not have gotten the memo or there was someone who didn’t put it fully into place.

    Comical lol

  7. The new huge chaos marine release, Cicatrix Maledictum lore, and Vigilus campaign strongly disagrees with your weird A is better than B now argument. Both systems are in great shape and are not competing with each other.

As far as sylvaneth; I’d wager we’ll see something after Looncurse has been out for a week or two.

  8. Not sure if this was addressed already (lots of pages) but is there anything against running a Flesh Eater Court army with Bretonnian models converted up to look spectral and undead? The gist being the army would represent how they see themselves, rather than the opponent, only with the undead tinge to get the point across?

other than ensuring each unit is easily and accurately represented, are there rules prohibiting this? Has it been done before? Would love to see some examples! I think this would be a great way to utilize some of the old bretonnian models.

  9. Hey all, I’m considering taking the plunge (oof) into the ID when the new Battleforce drops, and wanted to know if it’s a smart idea.

I am attracted to the aesthetics, colors, uniqueness of the faction, the tide table, and the ability to field a smallish AoS force.

Im a bit leery of this supposed reliance on eels; they’re expensive and I don’t really like spamming units to have a fun, semi competitive gaming session.

Can you make a fun and effective list utilizing a few different heroes, a good core of the infantry (archers included) and a smattering of the monsters?

I don’t want to buy 15-20 eels to have fun playing the game with the army, so if that’s what is necessary I won’t bother with the battleforce. Thanks!
