  1. That homemade giant is fantastic! Jealous of your skills :)

    Bonegrinder arrived today ❤️
I've also finished making my final aleguzzlers for now! (Though it's tempting to get 1 more to round it to a nice even 12) The magic using Hyishan giant, the cave dwelling Dankgiant from the realm of beasts and the ridiculous kharadron mercenary giant from the realm of metal.

We've had a lot of up's and downs with the kharadron giant and at one point he found his way into the bin out of frustration, then found his way back out for further work, and when he's all finished you'll see his ridiculous form ^^'

I honestly dont know if I'm more excited for the models themselves or the Battletome. The fact that there is going to be an entire book dedicated to Gargants is insane!! The fact that every facet of lore in this book is going to be based solely on them is a dream come true.

I'm also wondering what Realm they will focus on, I assume Ghyran as it's their birthplace.

I've assumed it's Ghyran for the purpouse of writing backstories for all my guys, but i wouldn't be surprised if there was a collective draw from each realm to the new found calling of the sons.

Secured the bonegrinder today with forge world re-opening! :)

I'm really holding out hope for late June early July release. Realistically it may be August now.

I'd love for them to drop the week after Lumineth. I just need them now.

On the plus side, more time to save for the big boys if it is August, be nice to splash on 4-5 of them, the collectors tome and anything else yet to be revealed for them. But I certainly mirror the need now philosophy ^^'

At least forge world are open tomorrow so I can order the Bonegrinder :D

What's the consensus rumor, will the regular Aleguzzler types be the Battleliners, and will they be available in units of multiples?  Or will they all count as battleline in case someone just wants 4 of the MegaGargants?

And have we heard if they'll have the counts as multiple models like the Mawtribes monsters?

I'm on the fence about getting into Mawtribes,; kinda wanted to wait to see how the Sons look first.

I've been running on the assumption aleguzzlers are the battleline and would be units of 1-3 at least.
No clue if big boys would have conditional battleline/leader status or pick 1 and upgrade to warlord etc.

I think we have to assume we'll have a giant = multiple models for objectives simply to even have a chance competitively, though if we'll get anything at all for missions that require a hq/wizard to score will be another thing, due to obvious lack of these, but there again its something dwarves of all kinds have to deal with too.

  5. No massive conversions this time, but keeping up the hype with the regular boys.

We've added the 2 plain aleguzzlers, a musician (You never know!) and a boy from Azyr who wears a nice puffy uniform (Shield/Pauldrons still being painted)

3 more aleguzzlers on the way now, planning one to be Kharadron/Realm of Metal themed, one to be from Hysh and then to round off the realms, one from Beasts.

Dying to get a hold of a bonegrinder, please open soon forgeworld or for one to finally become available on ebay!

    Thankyou :)

We now have another giant added to the family lineup, hailing from the realm of death!

Azyr giant and a Musician will be the next! Though I am now running out of giant kits :D

  8. Been working on making a giant from each realm and giving them a name/backstory before the book hits so I have a unique, themed army.

The above giants are totally awesome! I'm so excited for the new big boys and am dying for more anything ❤️

So far, we got in order of the picture.
Life (Ally of the Living city), Fire (Khornish Gladiator), Ulgu (Flesh Eater Abhorrent Archregiant) and have one for Death and Azyr in the works.

So maybe this has been covered already... but can LoG not take the Aetherquartz Brooch and Vassal of the Craven King for two rolls of a 5+ to refund out CPs?

Add in Kurdoss and that is three different 5+ rolls to acquire more CPs per turn.  Is there a rule of one somewhere to keep this from happening?

No, and this is part of the strategy used the by person who placed LoG high in the GT, my friend faced him and said his CP generation was pretty insane, combined with realm command abilities it did quite a number. The other part relied on the Ferryman endless spell to move the ghosts about, dispelling it with the banshees for the +1 attack if the enemy didn't.

thanks man, it's not meant to be a super competitive list but I just love the idea of having all three big monsters going to town on my enemies.

I was debating the utility of skeles vs rasps, it just seems a little unfluffy to take the ghosties. But skeles aren't much fluffier either, wish we had some vamp mortal thralls or something

Vampires will enslave Nighthaunt for their own needs and are able to raise skeletons and zombies of their own, so it's all fair game to me!

  11. Hey,

I am to play a game upcoming soon and wanted a lesser used allegiance to fit a nice Narrative Game (Matched Play rules still)

Game will take place in Realm of Life, using all realm rules/spells.
Battleplan is "For the Cascading Path" Slightly edited so the forces of chaos are invading Greywater Fastness instead of a realmgate.

    The list is below-

    Allegiance: Greywater Fastness
    Mortal Realm: Ghyran
    Gunmaster (80)
    Freeguild General on Griffon (260)
    - Shield & Greathammer
    - Artefact: Ghyrstrike
    Freeguild General (100)
    - General
    - Shield & Sigmarite Weapon
    - Trait: Inspiring
    Freeguild General (100)
    - Shield & Sigmarite Weapon
    - Horse
    -Stately War Banner

    10 x Freeguild Crossbowmen (100)
    30 x Freeguild Archers (300)
    10 x Freeguild Handgunners (100)
    40 x Freeguild Guard (280)
    - Halberds and Shields
    6 x Demigryph Knights (280)
    - Lance and Sword
    3 x Demigryph Knights (140)
    - Lance and Sword
    Helblaster Volley Gun (120)
    Helblaster Volley Gun (120)

    Total: 1980 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 162

Now I know, I could very easily take the free peoples Alleigance here and have some better traits, but it wouldn't fit the 1 in 4 units can be allies rule, to include 2 artillery pieces and a gunmaster.

But my main decision i'm having a hard time is, would it be worth switching out one of the generals to a battlemage for access to spells/dispels (Opponent only has 1 mage) bearing in mind the Horse one is on a old griffon using horse rules and flies off with the demigryphs and foot one stays giving the free people immunity to battleshock.

I would also like to test this out further then narrative taking it to the table normally and seeing how it would work, I think hellblasters have the most potential with the extra hits and rerolls from the engineer.

    Spoiler

Game 1- Plan - Border War (GHB 2018) Vs- Legions of Nagash-
    Nagash
    Chainrasp Horde x40
    Chainrasp Horde x 20
    Grimghast x 30
    Dire wolf x 5
    Necromancer
    Guardian of Souls
    Shyish Reaper

Boy oh boy, does gristlegore not handle unrendable, and bring back units well.

(Also realm of death) Immediately threw all 4 dragons up as I knew I needed to destroy units asap to get to nagash before the repopulation kicked my ass. 3/4 Dragons got in, and killed all but about 8 grimghast and about 13 Chainrasp of the 40 block. Next turn, they where all bought back via graves/spells and Nagash. Nagash debuffed the dragons with - attacks and -1 to hit and that was the end really. Grimghast did what they do best, blend everything.

That was with all 3 dragons fighting twice, the 4+ non rendable, rerolling 1's and the FNP is insanely hard to chew through.

Result- Loss 9-24 or something similar

    Spoiler

    Game 2- Plan- Scorched Earth
Realm- Ulgu (No one can shoot or cast over 12")
    VS- Karadron Overlords
    Ironclad
    6 Endrinriggers
    Khemist
    Navigator
    Frigate
    Frigate
    Gunhauler
    Arkanaut companies

Real unfortunate for him, KO not being able to shoot over 12" was a straight death sentence for them, I had first turn and sat back forcing them to come to me to score/burn, when they got in range after a double turn they took out 1 dragon easily, I then countered and wiped a frigate, arkanaut squad, the navigator, 3 endrinriggers and the gunhauler with 2 dragons, with the chalice healing everything I had to full. I then summoned all my units (10 ghouls, 20 ghouls, 3 flayers) into his backline objectives since he HAD to come to me and left them alone, got the double turn and burned them all which insured victory come Turn 3. Despite this he fought on, and the Ironclad realiably put out dragons 1 a turn, but in the end he couldnt make up the points. Result- Win 18 to 9 or so

I honestly feel if the 12" max range realm rule was not in, Karadron would be the perfect counter to gristlegore and I wouldn't have won.

    Spoiler

Game 3- Total Commitment Realm- Fire (We all forgot about the realm feature but 6+ = small explosion)
    VS- Maggotkin
    30 Plaguebearers
    Bray Shaman
    Spoilpox Scrivener
    Glottkin 3x5 blightkings
1 Lord of Plagues? Big guy with a shield
    2 Pusgoyles
    Blight Cyst

He made a major mistake after I had deployed right up forward to give me the first turn and left his glottkin exposed. I summoned all little units turn 1, to his back board and flew all 4 dragons up to his blight cyst + Glottkin and made the charges with all 4 dragons and 3 summoned Horrors. Screams took an average of 1 blightking out per due to rolling very very well The General Fought first twice, destroying the glottkin. And two terrorgheists wiped out 2/3 of the blight cyst blight king squads, Horrors killed 1/2 Pusgoyles, they fought back and did a massive 3 damage to each dragon, this combat and destruction let me have 3/4 objectives turn 1.

His turn his unit of 5 blightkings walked up and slew a dragon and his plaguebearers initiated on my general, doing near nothing. From this point It was a slog of fighting -1 to hit plaguebearers with the Scrivener forcing reroll 6's to hits and the wheel being manipulated by mages forcing rerolls of 6's to wound. However the opponent had lost interest as half his army left the board turn 1, and couldn't come back. Result- Win 32-5

Only a small tournament so, only 3 games, but I placed (Including army votes/favourite games) 4th/16 My biggest takeaways are- A) ****** grimghast (But that's not just our problem) B) Karadron if given an inch in this matchup will wreck our drakes, I maintain if not for the realm rule I wouldn't have won.

Another FEC player took first place with 3W 0L with something along the lines of- no court- Feast Day delusion AGKoTG ArchRegent Crypt Ghoul courtier Crypt Haunter Courtier (General) 40 ghouls 40 Ghouls 9 Horrors

He faced- Nurgle, LEgions of Nagash (Grimghast + dire wolves) and SCE (Gavriel +9" charge strat)

I apologise for formatting and background, I have no clue what has happened here.

Sooo, have anyone converted Vargulf courtiers? (couldn't find SCE-wannabe court here, but their Varghulf looks cool)
From GW minis or not, doesn't really matter, I'd like to do something with him because I dislike the model (or build completely new one one from whatever), so any suggestions will be appreciated

My Varghulfs-  Ogroid Thaumaturge with Vargeist wings and staff turned into a bone, and a Khorgorath with Vargeist wings and head. Simple :)

  15. 2 Days ago I took a combined Ghoul Patrol/Menagerie to a 2k Tournament
    Allegiance: Flesh Eater Courts
    - Delusion: Crusading Army
    Mortal Realm: Ghur

Abhorrant Ghoul King on Terrorgheist (400)
    - General
    - Trait: Magestic Horror
    - Artefact: Gryph-feather Charm
    Crypt Ghast Courtier (80)
    - Artefact: The Flayed Pennant
    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)
    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)
    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)
    Terrorgheist (300)
    Terrorgheist (300)
    Zombie Dragon (300)
    Ghoul Patrol (180)
    Royal Menagerie (140)

    Total: 2000 / 2000

I managed third place (albeit a small tournament) with 1 wound in the third game keeping me from 2nd.

As pointed out above, the menagerie battalion is....eh at most (Not helped my dragons abilities to fluff almost every roll) and I used it purely for the 6" bonus move turn 1 and after that it pretty much never mattered again, I would probably drop it next time and take 3 GKoTG instead, purely for the extra summons, guaranteed d3 healing instead of 1 and the situational d3 and another 240 to invest elsewhere.

  16. Ah yes thank you for the clarification on that, it makes it far more diverse then I thought :)

I was hoping the auto d6 population a turn, and the king summoning in 20 more ghouls would be enough to somewhat stall a little bit and block off objectives, but yes its likely the courtier will be taken out very quickly, although I could potentially give him a -1 to be hit relic along with Look out sir to make him a bit more survivable, but then I do lose the +3 inches to a 30 man ghoul squad charge if I drop the banner on him.

Considering this is 1k, my other planned option would be along the lines of -
    2x GKoTG
    2x 10 Ghouls

But I didn't think this would win me many friends bringing 2 big boys and summoning 9 Horrors/Flayers extra to such small points.

In a competitive minded environment which list would be better the previous ghoul one, or the TG?

  17. Heyo,

I have a question regarding the Ghoul Patrol, I'll be taking part in a good few 1000 point games soon,  with battleplans going from page 56-61.

One of my planned lists was to go mass ghouls in the form of -

    Allegiance: Flesh Eater Courts
    - Delusion: Crusading Army
    Mortal Realm: Ulgu
    Abhorrant Ghoul King (140)
    - General
    - Trait: Magestic Horror
    - Artefact: Sword of Judgement
    Crypt Ghast Courtier (80)
    - Artefact: The Flayed Pennant
    30 x Crypt Ghouls (300)
    20 x Crypt Ghouls (200)
    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)
    Ghoul Patrol (180)

    Total: 1000 / 2000

My only concern is Battleplan 1, which destroys all units in reserve, obviously Ghoul Patrol must start in reserve.

Is it within the rules to decide to deploy the ghouls and simply throw the battalion away for the game?

And having not played with it much, must the ghoul patrol all come in from the same side, or can one lot of ghouls deploy on another edge? I can't see the wording as I'm awaiting my tome in the mail :)

  18. With the earlier talk about 1k Nagash lists you have the obvious weakness of no real objective holding, I'd like to lose a question.

I'm participating in. 1k doubles with my partner being ironjawz running maw krusha , 6 pigs 10 boys a warchanter and pendulum.

Now I have 1 k to play around with and was thinking the big N himself, with the aforementioned allies do people think nagash /dire/dire would be a decent choice to play alongside this?

Realm rules would be in effect for extra free spells and endless spells are shared between team mates.

  19. Hello to all, I'm looking for a bit of advice, I have a doubles tournament coming in October consisting of two 1000 point armies. I have a few other army options but one I've been tempted with is bonesplitterz, so was wondering on critique for my planned list.

The ally I have plays iron jaws so I wanted to stay somewhat in theme with him, his army is as follows-

    Mega boss maw krusha

    6 gore grunta

    10 boyz

    Warchanter

I would be looking at allying in -

    Allegiance: Bonesplitterz

    Leaders
    Maniak Weirdnob (120)
    - General
    - Artefact: Big Wurrgog Mask
    Orruk Warboss (140)
    - Massive Choppa
    - Allies

    Battleline
    10 x Savage Boarboy Maniaks (280)
    10 x Savage Boarboyz (200)
    10 x Savage Boarboyz (200)

    Total: 940 / 1000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 140 / 200
    Wounds: 102

Not having played bones before I was wondering any weaknesses of the list/combined lists.

    Thanks!
