I ended up placing 4th at a Grand Clash over the weekend. Deck did well, I think I played quite well - and I had a good draw in warbands/players I was up against.

    Decklist is here; https://www.underworldsdb.com/shared.php?deck=0,N269,N268,N266,N265,348,N371,N302,N365,N274,N388,N557,N451,374,257,306,336,391,330,N550,N529,N340,N543,N309,424,N272,N276,320,N290,349,N527,N476,N503,272,372

Hey mate congrats! I take it this was at the Objective Secured SHO GC? I'd love to add your deck to the tournaments page on underworldsdb if you don't mind?

To help keep this on topic too, I took a Ylthari deck to a local tournament 2 weeks ago and was the only player to end the day 4-0. I invested pretty heavily into Ylthari herself which can be risky, but still managed to pull a draw in the game where she was assassinated early.

I found 16 Glory was enough here, but each of my games were pretty close. Tome of Offerings probably would have been a good idea in hindsight.

Going to grand clash in a couple of weeks and really just want to clarify a few timings on certain cards before I go as to not look stupid or cause arguments.

Change of tactics - do you score as soon as you charge or after finishing the full attack sequence?

My turn - does the opponent get to push you back after damaging you with an attack before you move/attack or after or not at all?

Keep them guessing - does ready for action/my turn count for 1 of the 4 actions or hidden paths etc?

    Thanks.

    1. I score it as soon as I put the charge token down (generally after the move part of the action), as it just seems to flow better at this point.  After the attack there can be other reactions etc taking place so it just feels cleaner to do it here. It doesn't say anything to the effect of 'completes a charge action' so I believe this is correct but could be mistaken.

    2. Yes they get to drive you back as part of their attack action, and then AFTER their attack action you react with this card

    3. Yes because those cards say 'make a move/attack action' or 'are considered to have made a move action' on them. I'm not sure about ploys that 'put a fighter on guard' - I could see arguments either way, but lean towards no because it doesn't say make a guard action (but again, could be wrong).

    But anyway; negativity aside!

Im brainstorming some objective markers using extra bits from soulwars/mortis engine ghost swarm etc ... anyone built their own Nighthaunt objectives and care to post?

I play Underworlds and saw that some of the contents in the scenery box for it would also double as a nice set of objective markers for Nighthaunt. This is what I'm planning on using next time I actually play a game.

  4. Godsworn Hunt objectives will be card numbers 175-183 in the set. The three oaths we've seen are numbered 181-183. Unless there is another Oath of A/B/C we've seen them all. So while there could be another oath or 2 in the set, not all of their objectives will be oaths.

  5. Hey all I'm new to AoS. Been trying to plan out a path to 2000 points so I can slowly build my way there. I've purchased Soul Wars and the Battletome but that's all I've got so far. Is this list an ok one to aim for?

    Leaders
Knight of Shrouds on Ethereal Steed (140)
    - General
    - Trait: Ruler of the Spirit Hosts
    - Artefact: Midnight Tome  (Soul Cage)
    Spirit Torment (120)
Guardian of Souls with Nightmare Lantern (140)
    - Lore of the Underworlds: Shademist
    - Infernal Lantern (Artefact): Beacon of Nagashizzar

    Battleline
    40 x Chainrasp Horde (280)
    6 x Spirit Hosts (240)
    20 x Grimghast Reapers (280)

    Units
    10 x Bladegheist Revenants (180)
    10 x Bladegheist Revenants (180)

    Behemoths
    Black Coach (280)

    Battalions
    Shroudguard (110)

    Total: 1950 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 2
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 126

My thinking is the splitting the units up into these groups to maximise their abilities:

    • Shroudguard and Spirit Torment - kill stuff and heal
    • Black Coach and Spirit Hosts - kill stuff and heal
    • Chainrasp, Reapers, GoS - use as needed to kill or hold and heal from range

Having not played AoS before, I don't know what mix of units to take to ensure I've got my bases covered for in game. But I'm hoping this has enough stuff to allow me to adapt as needed without having gone all in on one specific unit.
