Their most recent financial report says that their next project is to overhaul and redesign the website, as they acknowledge it's no longer suitable. The queue system seems to be a stop gap to prevent the scalpers, while they can implement a new system as part of the overhaul.

I'll be more than happy to tender 😉

It's not down, they have been implementing a queue system for resent big releases to help manage traffic to the site as well as stopping scalpers buying all stock.

Its started at the beginning of the first lockdown here in Britain and returned for Dominion and the ork beast snagger box set amongst others.

It's a good move by GW.

It would be if they could manage to not have the entire site behind it .... Incompetent under paid developers ... It's terrible UX if your not interested in the big new release and just want supplies

Tbf their App Department seems to be either extremely understaffed (maybe no one wants to work for them at their current minimum wages) or chaotic. 🤷🏼‍♂️
outsourcing a app to a agency that’s specialized in it would speed this up significantly.

I'm a developer, and I couldn't pay my bills on the salaries GW offers ... At the rate they pay there only going to attract juniors, or people who love the hobby more than feeding their kids... I suspect that this is part of why gw apps are a bit sh*t

in my one game of 3.0  so far, it was my block of 10 chosen that did all the work. Exceeded my expectations. I marked them Tzeench, and with Orracular visions and mystic shield they suddenly became both hard-hitting and durable. Expensive in points, but from where else do we produce reliable wounds?

After the game, seeing my block of 20x warriors still at about 12-13 models strong after being in combat much of the game, it occurred to me that I should have enhanced my warshrine to have "Curse" - then the warriors would act as near-Chosen,  only more easily durable.

Interesting! .... I think im going to steal that!

  5. As per the title, they seem to be the only reliable source of damage we have right now, can easily be on a 3+ and ingnoring rend -1. No mortal wound protection is solvable via warshrine.

The more I look at them ... The more I want 2 blocks of 10

As it's been mentioned a few times on the rumour thread and I think there's a good chance it's a source of some unease at the general popularity of AoS, I thought it'd be a good idea to give this its own thread. This is really just speculation but I'm also hoping a way to ease any feelings of unease, or at least to discuss the "why" of it.

On the forum and over a few other social medias, there has been a general feeling that Dominion has sold poorly (poorly in this case is in relation to Gw's expectation). I very much doubt we will ever get a statement from GW, so until then we have a few things to go off:

    - Dominion is still for sale on the GW store

    - Dominion is still up for preorder on most LGSs

    - The limited edition book is still up for preorder

    - Some LGSs have reported low sales for the boxset

    - GW have said that they printed "loads" so everyone can get a copy, so we can at least assume there is more than Cursed City and perhaps Indomitus

    - There was still a queue on the GW site for Dominion

The questions I think that are worth discussing are:

    • Do you think Dominion has sold poorly/well? Do you have any evidence to back this up?
    • If it has sold poorly, why?
    • If it has sold poorly, how do you think this reflects on AoS's popularity?
    • If it has sold poorly, do you think it means anything for the future of AoS?

I think it'd be a good idea to discuss these things, not as some sort of "the sky is falling and GW will cut AoS any moment now" but because it would be useful to discuss sales and maybe put worries to rest, or at least to think about what this could mean for the future of AoS (not "it will die" but maybe "they will focus on a different figurehead for the franchise" as an example).

I know for a fact it's sold poorly, had this very conversation with my Local (independent) store manager on Saturday, they're lumbered with cash tied up in stock that they cant sell.... It's not great for them after the sh*tty year they've had

Oh, and, while I'm being annoyed: they say "Beware of miscasts!"

But you can't beware of miscasts. There's nothing you can do to avoid miscasts apart from... not cast spells. On all those characters whose cost is predicated on the idea that they will, in fact, be casting spells.

It's just a random smack to the chops that occasionally crops up and you just have to suck it down and carry on. There's no new layer of strategy or tactics to it.

Has dispell range also been increased? ...

Another question is which Battletome will Kragnos be in? Or indeed will he ever be integrated into an army rather than just being a guy any Destruction force can take, but with no synergies.

My guess is he won't .... I (sadly) think he's a bit of an afterthought ... Very rushed, badly conceived ... Such a shame ... But hey ho onwards and upwards 🙂

What did you summon? Maybe if you summon small screens of Daemonettes you can keep the enemy away from the objective, make your early lead sligthly bigger and then win on points at the end by a small margin.

I summoned two units of 10 demonettes in total BR3 & BR4 .... Katakros deleted them

Also, @CarkFish, did you get your game in? :)

Yes, I played ossiach bone reapers

I took lurid haze with siggi and a kos, then too the 6"attack battalion with 3 units of slickbkades

2 units of CW's and a unit of blissbarbs

I REALLY struggled to kill anything ... Siggi rolled an 11 for his first charge out of deepstrike and fought twice .... 22 attacks and he managed 3 damage to the stupid ossiarch bone mauler fat guy thing.... Then it healed

My keeper did good work nearly wiping a unit of mortek guard

But I just kept getting smashed in every combat, didn't get distraction off once which hurt my battalion shenannigans ....

I took an early lead on points, we played the random objective one... I was 11 -0 up at the end of BR 3 ...

The early lead is all that made it close, by the end of round 4 he had all 4 objectives and we were at 11-16 .... I called it when he got first turn in BR5

The army is fun, and I definitely felt my own bad play was more of a factor than anything else.... I'm reworking the list to play DOK this week

As @Poryague said, nothing confirmed on stacking - we can assume it may be gone as it was in 40k, but I don't think we're copying all of 40k's rules.

If we don't have -2 to be hit in shooting that's not the end of the world. But it will be a massive help if they can benefit from terrain

I think my main concern is that they Tony leaks we've seen so far don't seem to hint at them reigning shooting in ... And my god it needs it .... I'm hopeful we see something substantial to curb it a touch
