Ah,....what if you dont like skinks (like me)?

Saurus are still pretty decent line infantry. Depending on which flavor you like, could make a Sunclaw host or an Eternal host. Or I guess a Firelance host if you can stomach the Cold One riders (or heavily convert the elf ones)

What do we lose really by not taking the Brayherd allegiance ?

The biggest is probably Bestigor Battleline I'd say? But you could easily take some min ungors or something. Then I guess the the ambush rule. It is a little weird though how the ambush rule and the herdstone rule sort of contradict each other. The ambush rule promotes going knee deep in enemy territory, the herdstone meanwhile promotes hugging your territory. Its not like Brayherd is known for shooting (though I guess its a nice spot to park a shaman).

I mean heck look at Skaven. Split up into 6 factions, with one of them being made up of only Leaders! Almost everyone wants to be Legions of Nagash....but I don't think AoS is getting much for the next few months other than the Darkoath/Moonclan update. The current update schedule is really stretching out SCE/NH (paddling back and forth between AoS release, then Specialist Games, then 40k Kill Team).

I'm also curious, should God marks come back to Beastmen? On one hand that could KILL mono Beastmen armies much like slaves to darkness, but on the other hand at least people might be more inclided to get some! Or at the very least do you think God Marked units should be usable in a beastmen army? For example Tzaangors also being eligible as a Brayherd unit rather than ally? I mean they still have the Gor keyword.

Nope. A unit that is just strong for its points without having any unique or game breaking mechanics ranks far far far down the list of filth. If anything, it's not Sequitors that are underpriced, but Liberators who are overpriced.

I agree with this. I mean theres only two things that Liberators do, be a battleline tax and slightly tank objectives.

Would love it if they fix it so that Nurgle can be plaguetouched again. I’m not certain that is likely, however, as the warscroll battalions in the nighthaunt book can be presumed to be Nighthaunt battalions.

Don’t really see much of a disconnect there. You just can’t have allegiance legions of nagash

Well heres one of the quotes from their discussions. Keep in mind though the Battalions they're using in LON are the ones that the Night Haunt models have been put into LoN through the FAQ, so they're not using allied Nighthaunt units like the new Black Coach.

    Quote

The battalions in the Nighthaunt battletome do not list an allegiance, and nothing in the 2e rules refers to a battalion's allegiance. The 2e rules do not, for instance, say that units within one of your faction's battalions don't count as allied units. That seems to be an faq answer written for 1e that does not match the 2e rules at all.

Guys where can I find the FAQ that someone said exists about taking 2banners? *questioned for some Chaos dudes ? Searched General Chaos + Order and couldn't find it !

I'm not sure if they reference it anywhere else, but the Skaven Pestilens FAQ/Designer Commentary has it.

Q: On the Plague Monks warscroll, the option is given for
models to be Icon Bearers with standards, or Plague Harbingers
with instruments. The warscroll states that any model in the
unit can be an Icon Bearer or a Plague Harbinger. Does that
mean I can equip my unit of Plague Monks with both options
    from both categories?
A: Yes, you may take multiple standards and instruments
in a unit if the warscroll allows it.

Do note that that I think Matched Play/Tournament settings usually may have their own limitations. For example I have seen some people cite "only one set of musician/banner" per unit increment (so 10, 20, 30 for multiples of 10) to prevent a unit made up of 15 banners and 14 musicians and 1 champion.

Remember when Games Workshop decided to make Warhammer Fantasy a simple game?

Are we talking about the launch of AoS where they didn't have point values and they split up skaven into 6 factions? ?

Though on the talk about those Everchosen battalions, Death players have been using Nighthaunt Battalions in Legions of Nagash due to the new 2.0 battalions completely lacking FACTION keywords. If that continues, maybe Everchosen down the line will get fixed or updated whenever Darkoath updates.

One Question: Can I use tamurkhans allegiance and Still Benefit of nurgle traits like Cycle of corruption, summoning, etc.?

    19 minutes ago, Avvien said:

Yes, you can! - You just need to grab any artefacts or traits that Tamurkhan's requires you to use.

To put it in a way, Tamurkhan's Horde is what all the current armies (aside from Night Haunt) have, mini subfactions that give you a benefit but puts a Command Trait and Artifact "tax".

I would not be surprised if most Mega Battalions (with a name, there are others that are far more generic) start to turn into these mini factions like The Blessed Sons or The Munificent Wanderers.

Also I believe you cant take Garrek's Reavers without also taking Riptooth as well, making it 120 points in total, although they are still separate units. Havent done the math on your list so dont know if you have allowed for theextra 40 points.

Garrek isn't the one who comes with Riptooth, thats Magore.

No, they got nerfed, they now only have a 4+ against Mortal Wounds so they can now easily be beaten off the table...boo GW, Boo!!

Technically you should boo the FW rules team! They always seem weirdly separate despite being more legitimate in the past half decade or so. Heck look at the fact that Chaos Dwarves can ally to other chaos factions...but no one can ally to them.

Hi guys, I have a question that might be somewhat stupid:

do we know how the mournghoul functions in this army now? Are there points for him, etc?

Forgeworld has all the updated stats for their things on their website.

    https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Warhammer-Age-of-Sigmar?N=2903449697+1114623960&Nr=AND(sku.siteId%3AGB_fw%2Cproduct.locale%3Aen_GB_fw)&Nrs=collection()%2Frecord[product.startDate+<%3D+1531493640000+and+product.endDate+>%3D+1531493640000]

The Mornghoul is "ok", not the rage inducing monster he was. But I'm pretty sure if you want to use a behemoth now in NH, the Black Coach is the better and cheaper option.

What does everyone think of magic in this addition? Is it going to be necessary to take wizards? There is no way tournaments are going to use realm rules. They vary to game TOO much. I am not really a fan of magic with my Free People army. I like the powder and man power feel. But you have to adapt to survive. Thoughts?

IMO I feel that AoS 2.0 is similar to WFB 8th. Some magic defense is almost necessary compared to none (although at least its not like 8th edition where 90% of all armies had a lvl 4 wizard and a BSB).

This is why I made sure to add my comment at the end there; There's lots of ways to have fun with AoS, aside from just the competitive aspect!

Thats basically Beastmen MO for like the past few years!

"We have fun, just not in the competitive sense!" ?

Can we at least get our other god marked gors?

How would Hysh/light work for Nighthaunts? XD

You can be undead but use the power of light to destroy your enemies, Tomb Kings were very much big on that!

Heck in MTG many spirits/ghosts are White colored to represent the more ethereal aspect of ghosts as opposed to reanimated skeletons and zombies who are traditionally Black (and in the "totally not Egypt" expansion they had, many mummies were also White). Granted in MTG undead aren't inherently "evil" and some ghosts are actually benevolent. Unless its the stupid Bankers from Ravnica who always collect their debts, even in death!

I painted Anvils because they're relatively easy (I'm not the greatest painter) and wanted a more muted color tone. Then I read Lord of Undeath and really liked the Anvils characters in there, and now the new lore for them and the Soul Wars novel has me really happy with my decision. I also like the tactical flexibility of the Stormhost rules, so it's a win/win for me by luck.

This. Unless you're playing in a fully narrative event, there's no reason that playing green painted Stormcast as Knights Excelsior should be a problem (and even then as long as your narrative works I wouldn't' worry about it).

Plus imo since Stormcasts are so new to warhammer as a whole, theres right now not much emotional connection to adhering to a stormhosts color scheme to its rules compared to say Space Marines. I mean I'd definitely be weirded out if someone had a Black Templar army thats actually a Space Wolves army.

Taking away complexity because stuff has issues at this moment ... kinda makes me sad.

I mean to be fair aren't there tournaments that also ban Free Cities? (and technically by extension Fist if the Everchosen, Wraith Fleet, and Stoneklaw Gutsompas, but those are really non issues and I think destruction needs all the help it can get!) But technically the Firestorm allegiances are still Matched play Legal. It's just an extra layer of rules that a tournament wants to have in place.

Heck I wouldn't be surprised if a tournament went "yea we're hard capping Engine of the Gods to one per army".

Now, I know this might be a odd question, but I see a lot of Spirit hosys in peoples lists and I can't quite figure out why. I know their stat lines, their abilities and such, but in comparison to Chainrasps, they seem a bit inferior. Your getting far less wounds, and about 1 MW per Host, since Hosts only pop on a 6. Is there something I'm missing?

Depending on the General, the Mortarch or Lord of the Spirit Hosts trait bring back entire models, so that makes multiwound models far tastier to revive than single wounds.

  17. I can't find the image of the page but GW explicitly stated that all the units you get in the Starter Set are all usable in LoN as normal non ally units, and Chainrasp Hordes clearly have the Battleline tag (unlike some of the other units that say Battleline in a Nighthaunt army).
