  1. So, no new finished models, but I've started working on a Wight King while I'm deciding whether to buy skeletons or zombies next.
It's still a WIP, but I expect it to be finished quite soon. As soon as I find a decent weathering effect for the bronze armour, at least (I'm open to suggestions ;)😞

I still had a box of Sepulchral Guard lying around too, so I decided to use these to get used to painting bone effects again.
Pretty happy how the bon effect turned out on this one, even if I still have to clean up the mess I made on his feet/heels.

I just finished painting Belladamma as well, super fun model. It took me way longer than I'd want to admit to notice that the Vyrkos symbol on her head is a little stylized wolf face.

I like the frost effect you did on the ground. Belladamma certainly gives off a russian vibe and it fits the mood quite well. I also like the idea of putting some static grass on the rock.

Well, the frost effect was a nice surprise.

For my basing, I just bought a kit of mud texture from Vallejo. Not only does it give a much better effect that the GW ones (not to mention that the pot is at least 5 times bigger than the GW ones, while costing only a little bit more than the GW ones), it also tends to hold flock much better, without having to mess around with a lot of Pva glue. Most of the snow on the base wasn't even meant to be there (I wanted a small patch for testing), but it just stuck to the texture paint and I decided to keep it that way :)

  3. SO,I used to play a lot of Warhammer during the days of 5th edition, all the way up to 8th edition, but I never managed to get deeply into Age of Sigmar.
I'vew done a few attempts, but they were very quickly aborted.
This saturday, I saw the new Soulblight mini's and I knew I wanted them (having played a lot of undead before, even when they were just one big army, before GW split them up in Vampire Counts and Tomb Kings).

I got to painting Belladamma Volga immediately and finished her the day after:

Right now, I'm working on a wight King.
I have no game plan as of yet, just buying models based on the way they look for the moment

Nice! What paints are you using for those green-grey rocks?

Dawnstone, with a wash of Athonian camoshade.

Next drybrushed with administratum grey, and finally a drybrush with white scar on the upper edges.

The Undercoat I used for this was Chaos black with some corax white sprayed from above in short bursts.

  5. I've been painting on and off again lately. I'm still trying to motivate myself to paint and play, but somehow, life always seems to get in the way.

However, this week I've made some decent progress (on my Nighvault warband).

Let's just hope I can succeed to keep painting this time.
