  1. Hi guys!

Just a quick question, how are you dealing with archers-heavy lumineth lists?

I've had two games against them, and each time I just can't approach them (this and the double turn which put the last nail in my coffin).

First list I tried was Kastelai with Vordrai, a VLoZD, 3*5 BK and 20 grave guards, the heavy hitters ran towards the lumineth block (2*10 archers, Teclis, some spearmen and a catalar) but got murdered.

Second list I tried was Avengorii with Lauka Vai, Radukar the beast, VLoZD, 5 BK,1 terror and 1 zombie dragon, with all "run and charge" abilities I could get, but it still ended up as target practising.

Is it even a good idea to try removing them from the table? Or shall I just run lists with many bodies and just play the objectives will I'm being shot at?

What updates did they get? As far as I know, the sculpts are the same as they have always been.

They got mournfang, leadbealcher and stonehorn in plastic kits IIRC. But no updates for old kits indeed.

    Along with some finecast characters.

Lol, the new Warcry box costs 180€. Just lok., they‘ve lost their minds

160, still expensive though.  But you seem to really appreciate complaining about GW prices around here, so I won't take that away from you.

Pretty sure they are normally announced approx the first week of November with pre-orders first week of December.

My completely baseless speculation would be:

Order: Fyreslayers or Cities (probably based around a particular city (like the firestorm boxes)

Chaos: Slaanesh or Beasts of Chaos

    Death: FEC or OBR

    Destruction: Ironjawz or mixed Mawtribes

I agree with most of your guesses actually.

    For me:

    Order: Fyreslayers

    Death: OBR

    Destruction: Ogors

    Chaos: Nurgle

I hope we'll also get a christmas set of scenery too, but they stopped doing it last year :(

I apologise for contributing to this pricing. I myself know it's horrible.

Don't worry dude, I know nowadays it's hard to say you're a mega gargant fan because of the popular vindict and all the hate, but eventually it'll fade out and your passion and awesome minis will still be here ;)

I have bought two mega gargants too, and I can't wait to paint them and enjoy them on the tabletop with my friends, I really don't care about what people think and they won't ruin the enjoyment I'm getting out of this great hobby.

but are the cards bundled with the magazine or are just printed in the warcry section?

Printed in the warcry section unfortunately :(

Though I'm not complaining too much anyway, since they are basically given!

Hi i just painted the spier tyrents haw do they play? any ideas for hammer sword sheald?
    thanks in advance

I've played them a bit this weekend.

Their are quite pleasant to play, the are quite tanky for the most part, and can hit very hard.

Board control is good too, since you have a good number of fighters.

My only grief is their abilities. Their are too expensive and too conditional. I mean, for using some of them (including the ultimate one), you have to rule a dice an have a 3+ or 4+, or to kill someone before. Whereas similar abilites exist in other warbands but without any condition, I find it very underwelming.

But the base one is good, giving you for a double, the ability to move or attack for free if you kill someone.

That's it for me, but I may be terribly mistaken, I've only played them 4 times :)

    Indeed.

Don't expect anything more than a teaser for a Battletome / Supplement alongside the Underworld Ogor Hunter team.

We should get something about Seraphon / Gargants / Hysh Aelves / maybe a Siege supplement in 2020 at least (but don't expect it today!)

And don't forget we have the Las Vegas Open from January 24th to 26th.

And then Adepticon from March 25th to 29th.  It will be the "biggest Warhammer Preview ever" as an article on WarCom said, because they increased the seats number.

The only thing I find odd, is that every preview they host at Warhammer World is so bland...

Everytime a new major reveal is done, it is i at an external place, not in the glorious walls of Notthingham :(.

Anyway, I hope the book teased will contain interesting fluff tidbits, who knows, maybe Nagash won't have his butt kicked this time 😛

I dont think so. The last few years, Christmas has been a large update for one faction (GloomspiteGits, Nurgle, Tzeentch) while Psychic Awakening has been rather small on the model side, so far.

I hope you're right dear, but still...

Last two years they've announced army updates with a teaser on Christmas Day. That's my guess for the next "big" reveal opportunity. Between now and then I think it will mostly be slaves and warcry cards.

Unfortunately, christmas slot is already taken by Psychic Awakening :(

  11. I guess i could be related to the time in AoS storyline when Chaos started slowly to take over the realms during the age of myths?

Could be interesting in the sense that mythical spells and creatures which are not in AoS anymore could be released... Hell maybe godbeasts and gods?

That's a pretty blah list, but I can see the sense in Stormcast/Nighthaunt sets if they are planning to discontinue the Soul Wars starter box(s) and break them into Getting Started sets down the road, like they've done with the other starter sets.

I have to wonder how well those battleforces would actually sell though, Stormcast may be popular but Sacrosanct has been dirt cheap to get into for more than a year now.

On the plus side, could indicate a new Starter box next year?

Well that's not really how I see it. Again I'm not working at GW but I can see a similar schema here compared to what happened to 40K.

When the new 40k edition dropped, loads of new kits for the poster armies (Primaris and Death Guard) were released. But for Christmas neither of them got a battleforce. Because IMHO the kits were too recents I guess. But the year after, we got battleforce for both. Which in a way is a good way of having people buying the kits they didn't have with their starter sets, once they have had time to paint the said starter set.

We can apply the same reasoning here, yes it's cheap to collect a Sacrosanct or a Nighthaunt force. But some kits aren't the complete ones (I think about the Sequitors and Evocators for example). And now that the starter set is more than one year old, it's a good way to push the poster boys again, without being to near of their release.

But I don't think it indicates a new starter box nor a breaking of the starter set in two start collecting boxes (not yet).

Again, this rumor I read may be false. But the nighthaunt and stormcast sets are a given to me.

It would seem strange to get yet another Stormcast battleforce. They already had plenty sets. But since everybody are in love with Stormcasts.... Even so I'm happy GW refrained itself from releasing another SCE army this year. Much needed break.

If those rumours are true I would 100% take Gloomspite and maybe Nighthaunt if it's packed with units I lack (already have over 2k points of them painted)

Well yes, it makes sense to me only if the battleforce contains the recent sacrosanct miniatures.

In the past we already had the "common chamber", then the "vanguard chamber". Only the sacrosanct minis remains to be put in a battleforce :)

  14. Coming from a French facebook page from a guy who seems to be in the know (but as usual, take it with a pinch of salt), here are the content of battleforces this year :

AoS : Stormcasts, Nighthaunt, Skavens, Gloomspite

40k : Tau, Dark Eldar, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, Chaos, Tyranids

We'll see how it pans out, but it could makes sense.

I have literally no glue when they’ll be comin

That's a shame, you should buy some to build up more clanrats !

I guess they will go along with beastgrave. But the more time goes on the more I loose hope about dedicated endless spells and scenery for them.
