The issue with breaking them up would be the loss of buff stacking.  I think they're best run as 2 or 3 and just have them destroy whatever they can reach.  By providing them flight through Sayl's spell, they should be able to position fairly well.  Additionally, throw on the Sorceror Lord spell, Daemonic Power, and have them re-roll 1's to hit/wound/save.
