Hey,

i ask this for my girlfriend. We just startet aos (i play Destruction) and she wants to play Sylvaneth / Woodelves. Now the question: whats a good start for those?  is it effective to combine these 2 fractions?

We plan to field 1000 points.

thank you :)

You can play Sylvaneth/Wanderers but I feel that Sylvaneth alone is probably a stronger choice.

Sylvaneth and Wanderers

Nomad Prince (80)
Spellweaver (100)
Eternal Guard (80)
Wildwood Rangers (200)
Dryads x10 (120)
Kurnoth Hunters x3 (180) (Scythes)
Glade Guard (120) (Scythes)

Just a quickly thrown together list. I've never played it.

Sylvaneth Alone

Treelord Ancient (300)
Gnarled Warrior (Command Trait)
Briarsheath (Artefact of Power)
Branchwych (100)
Dryads x10 (120)
Dryads x10 (120)
Kurnoth Hunters x3 (180) (Scythes)
Kurnoth Hunters x3 (180) (Scythes)

The Dryads serve as tarpits on objectives and the Kurnoth Hunters cover their flanks. This list works better when it can stay together.

Branchwych (100)
Dryads x10 (120)
Dryads x10 (120)
Dryads x10 (120)
Kurnoth Hunters x3 (180)
Kurnoth Hunters x3 (180)
Kurnoth Hunters x3 (180)

This list drops the Tree lord for more Kurnoth hunters as they are generally considered great at dealing damage.

@Die Gruenhaut  In terms of models, the Start Collecting box is excellent value and will give you the Treelord Ancient, the Branchwych and some dryads.

In fact, its worth getting two boxes, if you can afford it, as you will definitely use the second treelord/treelord ancient/durthu when you play at slightly larger sizes and it will give you enough Dryads for games at 1,000 points.

The alternative would be to pick-up some dryads on eBay (or local equivalent, buy/sell page etc) as they are older models.

Then all you need do is buy some Hunters :)
