Paint selections for zenithal highlighting Stoneskull Ironjawz

My goal is to paint an ironjawz army using the stoneskull bone/red scheme and I would like the orruks to have a skin tone that is a warm olive tone.  Also, I would like to attempt to use zenithal highlighting on the models.

The War Gamer has a video (https://youtu.be/6CofhWQAeyc) with the skin tone I would like to achieve.  He suggests using army painter: skeleton bone primer to add warmth to the skin and yellow armor scheme he has chosen.

But in Vince Venturella's Hobby Cheating video on zenithal highlighting, he suggests priming black and then using white/grey for zenithal highlighting (https://youtu.be/4ZFXSE9UHUM?list=PLcdsbwBroEmD2fNEJhcju6PD7qRmoo04Y) to enhance the light and dark contrasts.

My question is how to combine both effects?  Perhaps start out with the zenithal highlighting by priming black, and adding grey and white to enhance the light/shade areas.  Then pick up with a bone or sand color glaze to give an underlying warmth to the skin and bone armor sections?

This is my first army and I would like the models that get placed on the table to come close to matching the vision I have in my head!
