Rules and Scenarios

We will use the latest rules for Matched Play and the latest FAQ. Battleplans, realms of battle and realmscape features will be selected in advance, and revealed 24 hours after list submission. Players should therefore be prepared to play any of the 18 battleplans for Matched Play included in the core rules and in General’s Handbook 2018, and in any of the 7 realms of battle. The Malign Sorcery rules are used, including artefacts and one preselected spell per round. The same battleplan and realm of battle will not feature more than once.

Armies

Armies will be 2000 points. The latest point values and warscroll versions will be used. Warscrolls that did not receive point values in the latest version of Matched Play rules (including the General’s Handbook and Compendiums released in conjunction with the General’s Handbook) are not allowed.

List submission

The deadline for submitting lists is on Saturday October 20.

The format is scrollbuilder format. Make your list at https://www.warhammer-community.com/warscroll-builder/, including allegiance, command trait, artefacts, spells and equipment. Then press the question mark at the top of the page, press "Short", and select and copy the list.

Paste it into the body of an email, and send it to jansson.samuel@gmail.com. Write "MWW:3 AoS" and your name in the title of the email.

Scoring

Each round, a random scenario will be selected from the latest version of Matched Play rules. The same scenario cannot be selected twice.

Players will compete for a total of 20 points each game. A major victory according to the scenario awards the winner 12 points and the loser 0 points. A minor victory awards the winner 9 points and the loser 3 points and a draw awards both players 6 points.

The remaining 8 points are awarded through secondary objectives. Both players will try to achieve 4 secondary objectives each game. A player scores 1 point for each secondary objective achieved, and 1 point for each secondary objective the opponent fails. The secondary objectives are taken from the Sudden Death table at page 2 of the core rules for Age of Sigmar, and are listed below with some modifications.

1)   Assassinate: After deployment has finished, but before the first turn starts, the enemy player picks a unit with the HERO, WIZARD, PRIEST or MONSTER keyword in their army. Slay the unit that they pick. Units that do not start on the table, or that cannot be targeted at the beginning of the game such as the Changeling, may not be selected. If the enemy player is unable to select an eligible unit, this point is awarded automatically.

2)   Blunt: The enemy player picks a unit with five or more models in their army, a unit with three or more models and a wound characteristic of at least 4 or a unit with 2 or more models and a wound characteristic of at least 6. Slay the unit that they pick. Units that do not start on the table, or that cannot be targeted at the beginning of the game such as Carrions, may not be selected. If the enemy player is unable to select an eligible unit, this point is awarded automatically.

3)   Endure: Have at least one model which started the battle on the battlefield still in play at the end of the fifth battle round.

4)   Seize Ground: Pick one terrain feature fully within the opponent’s half of the battlefield. Have at least one friendly model within 3” of the center of that feature at the end of the fourth battle round.

Each game, the total amount of points killed by each player is recorded. This is used as a tie breaker in the standings.

Example: Dennis and Aleksandar play a game. Dennis wins a minor victory in the scenario and achieves the Endure secondary objective, but fails the others. Aleksandar achieves all secondary objectives. As such, Dennis scores 9 points for the minor victory and 1 point for the secondary objectives he achieved. Aleksandar scores 3 points for the minor loss, 4 points for the secondary objectives he achieved and 3 points for the secondary objectives Dennis failed. The final score becomes 10-10. In addition, Dennis kills 900 points of Aleksandar’s army, and Aleksandar kills 1500 points of Dennis’ army. This is recorded to be used as a tie breaker in the standings.

Painting

All armies need to be fully painted with a minimum of three colors in the right places and fully based. Models that do not conform to these requirements will be removed from play and awarded as kill points to the opponent.

There will be a painting competition at the event. All armies will be judged by the first Swedish Golden Demon winner Magnus Eriksson and his crew. For more information, see the MWW:3 webpage.

Prices

We are proud to be sponsored by Deep Cut Studios, KR Multicase, Playoteket and Green Faction with excellent prices. Prices will be awarded for the first, second and third place finishes in the tournament standings and to the best sportsman.
