plasticgoblin Posted July 12, 2016 Share Posted July 12, 2016 Promised tutorial about how to blend easier, faster and louder because you will shout with happiness when you finish your piece in half a time:) Those 3 knifes took me 7min in total 1. Mix desired extremes. Here pure Vallejo silver and silver+black 2. Dip flat brush to your mixed paint. Light on one side dark on the other. 3. Wipe excess of paint from your brush but leave enough to paint. 4. Plan your gradients ahead because you must be precise-ish. 5. Gently paint your element. Use whole flat surface of your brush and move with a slight angle like this / or \ . after first stroke move your brush just 2-3mm towards dark part and do another. Two strokes should be enough but sometimes you will need more. 6. Once dried using clear silver highlight all edges and add some scratches. 7. Shout '****** yeah' It works the best with regular paint because metalics dry fast and you can't dilute 'em well. If you need detailed explanation or a vid just let me know.
