Looking at the completed narrative, the three chapters are connected together.

The seers and prophets who could have directed the other Alliances were slain, thus drawing Lunaghast from its orbit.

The master was pleased that so many seers and prophets were slain, and the Great Work continued, but he needed more time. Thus, he created the Red Mists, a curse formed from the most violent underworlds, to afflict Aqshy. By banding together to use the chronomantic cannon, ripples echoed through time.

The effects were to our lord's benefit, for Shyish is the end of all things, even time. Thus did he use some of the realmstone to embody the Black Void, devouring, seconds, minutes, hours, to further the construction of the Great Black Pyramid. The other Alliances attacked in hopes of stopping the loss of time, but they fell into the master's trap. Alas, the resolve of the living had been gravely underestimated, for they fought so vigorously they escaped the Great Oubliette, freeing many of their heroes of old.

Still, despite this..setback, it concludes with stating that the master's grand cosmological ritual is nearing completion, perhaps simply needing a little more time...

The Black Void has not been stopped. Perhaps just a little more time needs to be consumed. It was only at the very end that we suffered this setback, so I am hopeful the Great Work can be completed at least as a partial success.
