  1. Hey Peeps,

Hope everyone in the thread is doing alright and enjoying FEC atm :)

I thought i'd recap on my list with my first big Tournament here in Sweden which I ended up winning 5-0.

Just some quick words on the Tournament:

    - 30 players, 2-day tournament. FEC heavy and Tzeentch Heavy with one dude playing Nagash.

    - 12P Max for scenario, rest was secondaries and general missions.

    - Some heavy hitters in terms of player quality based on our scene and Meta in Sweden and also parts of Denmark.

    The list:

    Allegiance: Flesh Eater Courts
    - Grand Court: Gristlegore
    Mortal Realm: Shyish
Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist (400)
    - General
    - Trait: Savage Strike
    - Artefact: Ghurish Mawshard
    - Lore of Madness: Blood Feast
    - Mount Trait: Gruesome Bite
Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist (400)
    - Lore of Madness: Blood Feast
    - Mount Trait: Gruesome Bite
    Abhorrant Archregent (200)
    - Artefact: The Dermal Robe
    - Lore of Madness: Spectral Host
    Abhorrant Ghoul King (140)
    - Lore of Madness: Blood Feast
    Abhorrant Ghoul King (140)
    - Lore of Madness: Spectral Host
    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)
    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)
    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)
    1 x Corpse Cart (80)
    - Allies
    Royal Family (120)
    Chronomantic Cogs (60)
    Chalice of Ushoran (40)
    Malevolent Maelstrom (20)

    Total: 1900 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 3
    Allies: 80 / 400
    Wounds: 83

I ended up facing 2 one-drop dryads-heavy sylvaneth lists in which I both won end of T2. I played against an other Gristlegore list with more TG's and a Summoning and magic heavy Tzeentch-list. In the final I played against a mixed order list with loads of shennanigans and Shooting.

Basically, Sylvaneth games were easy peasy, killing almost 30 dryads/turn with the TG's. The other Gristlegore list was more of an gamble/win but eventually I won on model and hero count for the scenario. The Tzeentch game was probably my worst match-up. Mainly cause of the huge amounts of screens and summoning capabilities but also all of the obnoxious horror shooting and MW output. I ended up winning on Kill points since the game ended in a tie.

The last game I played against a very good and wierd mixed order duardin list with a scary dragon, 30 longbeards, 30 arkanauts, endrinriggers and an ironclad amongst other things. I ended up winning by alfa-striking with my non-general TG and by the sheer power of summoning onto objectives T1. Also, summoning flayers for harassing shooting units/threatening backline objectives worked perfectly.

All in all, a super powerful list with loads of speed, MW and dmg output as well as a decent hero/casting phase.

The 4 CP's gives the list loads of maneuverability and the +1/+2 to cast helps out ALOT with getting your spells out there.

Cogs and Chalice are an absolute must have and did a lot of work throughout the tournament.

Shooting and spell-heavy armies are the most dangerous counters and yes, you'll need to be a bit lucky to win games against those lists.

Have fun playing your lists :)

    Ain't that the truth.

Still, I think those rules needlessly boost armies that have easy access to casters (who are already favoured due to scenarios like Places of Arcane Power), and severely disadvantages others.

I agree. It will always be like that though, some scenarios are just dumb and will always be included in any tournament causes of TO's decisions.

For a Gristlegore Court, your trait needs to be Savage Strike.

Also, did you happen to play in Shyish, or did you get all the spells just because you hail from there?

Yeah I know, just can't choose it in scrollbuilder for some weird reason..

We have a local tournament coming up without realmscape or spells. The twist is that you can choose the realm your army comes from and each wizard can choose a spell from that realm and artefacts only from that realm. Pretty cool idea actually. Hence, the spells :)

  4. Hey guys, just an update on my list so far. Played against a really dirty 2k tzeentch list today with loads of summoning and 10 casts/turn.

    My list:

    Allegiance: Flesh Eater Courts

    - Grand Court: Gristlegore

    Mortal Realm: Shyish

Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist (400)

    - General

    - Trait: Bringer of Death

    - Artefact: Ghurish Mawshard

    - Lore of Madness: Spectral Host

    - Lore of Shyish: Ethereal Guide

    - Mount Trait: Gruesome Bite

Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist (400)

    - Lore of Madness: Monstrous Vigour

    - Lore of Shyish: Night’s Touch

    - Mount Trait: Gruesome Bite

    Abhorrant Archregent (200)

    - Artefact: The Dermal Robe

    - Lore of Madness: Spectral Host

    - Lore of Shyish: Soulshroud

    Abhorrant Ghoul King (140)

    - Lore of Madness: Blood Feast

    - Lore of Shyish: Soulflay

    Abhorrant Ghoul King (140)

    - Lore of Madness: Blood Feast

    - Lore of Shyish: Unnatural Darkness

    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)

    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)

    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)

    1 x Corpse Cart (80)

    - Allies

    Royal Family (120)

    Chronomantic Cogs (60)

    Chalice of Ushoran (40)

    Malevolent Maelstrom (20)

    Total: 1900 / 2000

    Extra Command Points: 3

    Allies: 80 / 400

    Wounds: 83

We played shifting objectives and I took the first turn. I summoned 3 units of knights and 20 ghouls on the primary + on the objective on the other side. I managed to get off Unholy vitality on my non general TG, got +1 attack on my general and also cast immune to magic on him.

The game went in my favour since T1. I managed to hold all objectives by distracting him from killing my two major threats - the dragons by 3 turns. He also got the double-turn (Which we all know, is huge with tzeentch) and  also won prio-t3.

Both of my dragons died to horrors shooting lol. Nevertheless, this just shows how strong we are in the new meta. Even though I went against a heavy magic list and a whole lot of shooting thanks to acolytes, horrors and some heroes, I had enough bodies to win on objectives easily.

    Conclusion:

    1. We absolutely SUCK against all kinds of shooting (Horrors will kill your dragons). Positioning is key and also having fewer drops than your opponent.

    2. We have a massive advantage in a objectives game thanks to free summoning from regents and AGK's.

    3. Feeding Frenzie is absolutely key in deleting shooting and heavy-hitting units.

    4. AgkoTG's with re-rolling maw in gristlegore with double pile-in will almost delete anything that is moving.

    5. Make sure to enjoy your feasts and hail to the Carrion King! :)

Also on a sidenote, seems like Big Ben is going to take the Sheffield Slaughter 1st prize with FeC!

Yes, but Arkhan can then cast all spells with the buff.
    *shrug*
It's a matter of preference. Arkhan is basically the same for old and new FEC, and he was frequently found in Monster Mash lists. I don't see a particular reason why that would change (to the contrary, we got an even more powerful spell now that we really want to get off), so make of that what you will.

I'd actually consider taking a corpse cart and a mortis engine for 260p instead. This will give all your casters +2 to  cast and can also dish out MW and heal with mortis. Curse of years is really really good tho and an psychological nightmare for your opponent.

This fight again command ability looks much better on paper IMHO.  In practice it seems to simply fall in line with where AoS is at the moment in that if a unit hits another unit it is generally going to simply wipe enough of it out so as to make it combat ineffective.  Sure there are some grindy matchups where this will do some work but on the whole it just seems to be par for the course.  The new character's ability to fight at the beginning of combat seems much better.

That being said, if you wipe a unit or render them ineffective, you can still make that additional 3" pile which is huge

Do you guys find the mount traits strong enough to pay a Battalion for an extra one ?

I'm going GKoTG - GKoTG - GKoZD and I'd like at least 2 of them to have traits...

Def worth it for me, rerolling those maw attacks just make the difference in the list. You increase your chances of both getting an additional hit and 6MW

if anyone is interested: I might upload some bits to shapeways. these bits should provide a bit of armour /weaponry for your "knights".
The first few uploads will be testruns since getting the scale right is pretty hard 😃

Any wishes for amor bitz you'd liketo see?

Sweet! Is it going to be 3d printed or? I'd love to see what you come up with :)

Yes you're correct with most of that, but once it is the rest of the combat phase your general would not be able to attack again.

Cute thing though you charge your models in, your general goes first, you feeding frenzy he goes again. Now you chose one of your models to go since he was picked before models can go.

that is correct, I ofc understand that he cannot fight a 3rd time. That would be completely broken hehe :)

    found the FAQ, thx

Q: Some abilities allow or require a unit to fight at the start of the combat phase, or the end of the combat phase. How exactly does this work? What happens if two or more units have to fight at the start or the end of the phase?

A: Units that fight at the start or the end of the combat phase make a pile-in move and then attack with their melee weapons before the players start picking any other units to fight in that phase, or after the players have picked all other units to fight in that phase, respectively. So, first you pile in and make attacks with the units that are to fight at the start of the phase, then the players alternate picking units to fight with, starting with the player whose turn is taking place, and lastly you pile in and make attacks with units that make attacks at the end of the combat phase. If there are several units fighting at the start or the end of the phase, the player whose turn is taking place attacks with all of their units in the order of their choice, and then their opponent does the same.

    that's the one :)

ok, let's assume you start with an attack covered by your combat trait followed by an attack triggered by feeding frenzy. in this case you're starting your combat phase with an attack (triggered by feeding frenzy). after your attack it's your opponets choice to attack witch a unit.

    i don't think you'll be able to attack 4 times in a row.. we'll see ;)

Yo attack both times before everyone else gets to fight in the combat phase mate. The rule of feeding frenzy states that you get to immediately make another pile in move and attack. It's still the same unit that's doing it thus it counts as a single activation.

It's not like my opponent get's to fight with 2 of their units right after each other because I went twice with one unit thanks to an ability.

The only time this would not apply is if I would play against Idoneth Deepkin in turn 3. Then i'm only able to activate my general twice and then the opponent gets to fight first with all their units.

    Get the point? :)

A few points I want to make.

    1)

Literally reads out the entire book. Please listen and stop guessing what things do.

    2) You either get a Court or a Delusion, not both.

    3) Archregent is undercosted, but, after a mounted king and 3 battlelines at a worthwhile size, you're not going to have points for enough of them to be a serious balance issue, plus there are diminishing returns because they all have the same spell.

I would argue not to listen to this guy because he got 80% wrong fact from that tome.

The guy literally reads everything and then makes up his own rules lol..

    Thanks for the replies.

I cant follow the argument though, that because of the limited rooster, the combos, traits and units need to be this uber.

There are plenty of armies that are rather limited. I repeat: units with +250 attacks are nonsense...

I am Happy that you guys receive new stuff though:)

I mean, DoK, LoN and Deepkin all counter this faction HARD. There is nothing broken with FEC.

  14. This will be my first go-to list to try out:

    Gristlemaw court

Abhorrant Ghoul King on Terrorgheist (Always fights first, double pile-in with feeding frenzy, rerolling maw-attacks) Stack Ferocious hunger + black hunger)
Cast mystic shield and Unholy vitality.

    - Mount trait: Gruesome bites

    - Blood feast

Abhorrant Ghoul King on Terrorgheist (Grim garland, Monstrous vigour spell)

    - Mount trait: Gruesome bites

    - Myasmal Shroud

    Abhorrant Archregent

    - Blood feast

    Abhorrant Ghoul King

    - Spectral Host

    Abhorrant Ghoul King

    - Spectral Host

    Crypt ghast courtier

    1x20 ghouls

    1x10 ghouls

    1x10 ghouls

    Corpse Cart

    Cogs
    Royal Family

    2000p

You just buff the ****** out of your general who fights first in EVERY combat phase. This means that you can pop Feeding frenzy on him after he has fought for the first time before any other unit has fought. Straight after that you pop feeding frenzy with your other GKoTG meaning that you get to fight 4 times with the two dragons before any other enemy unit gets activated! That is INSANE.

Summon ghouls with your archregents/ghoul kings for free with the Throne. Save your two knight summons with the GKoTG's.

Corpse cart for 80p helps you with your so important spells to go off.

Batallion means that you can take an additional artefact, mount trait for your GKoTG nr 2 and an extra CP making it a 8 drop list.

If your opponent outdrops you, you got enough chaff to screen your entire army.

Give your non-general GKoTG the reroll saverolls with cogs and cast an additional spell.

These monsters will hit HARD and massive amounts of MW with -2 bravery debuff and extra attacks, + 6's triggering new ones and re-rolling your maw.

Super excited to try this 2k list.

Played a 1k game yesterday with the new rules and my GKoTG with 4 extra attacks one-shotted a mawcrusha with ethereal amulet. I didn't even have to use Feeding Frenzy.
