I think Flamers are certainly better than they used to be, way better.  But still they're pretty easy to kill at 2 wounds each with a 5+ save.  Also I think we'll be seeing the Prismatic Palisade in use more often now.  Shooting is becoming far more prevalent in AoS now.

Is there a battalion that one can put a bunch of Flamers and not much else within?  No tome yet, maybe tomorrow I can go get one.

I think that people will ajust their list with the current meta too.

OBR with nagash in elite petrifex can be really hard to deal with. Dust the chicken with the spell portal and his 2+ rerollable is nasty

I played againt fyreslayer last week

the artefact on the totem that WW 12’’ ignore spell effect on 4+ is so good, was hard to deal with the carracter who always good protect againt flamer shooting and spellcasting

hearthguard berserker are so good.  Against a good player, its really hard to deal against 60 HG berserker buffed

9 flamers have a threat range of 27”. They will generally hit on 3+ (Minimum) and wound on 3+. In some instances they will also re roll attacks and wounds. Depending on one big unit or three small ones you are looking at 28-30 attacks of which around 12 will wound (more like 20+ if you do things properly) which will be 24 - 40+ wounds -2 rend. This is without any Changehost or other special tech and if translated to points will easily erase more than a quarter of your opponents army. That is some real serious damage potential - just on average.

The flamer unit(s) cost 360 point. A lot of people are saying how squishy they are but what can really touch them? Most shooting or magic will be top priority and the Tzeentch player has in addition to the shooting mortal wounds through spells in abundance - so range supremacy is more or less guaranteed (99 percent of the army has good shooting/magic). We can also summon in more of them if they start dropping/Fold reality back sporadic losses and to add insult to injury we have some of the games best screens so melee is not going to touch them either.  Sure - there are some armies that can deep strike/pull of some really long range threat that will realistically be able to hurt them but those armies are far between.

How people think that they are fine is beyond my understanding. Don’t get me wrong - I love Tzeentch and it is my main army and has been since 7ed, but the unit is stupidly good for its points. A -1 to hit would still make it a very good unit point for point.

I don’t know where you see that flamer can reroll to wound or have -2 rend but you’re wrong at this point 🤷🏻‍♂️

-1 rend with confrag, absolutely no rend without this coven

reroll all to hit with the fatemaster command and need to be WW 9’’ of it

+1 to wound with the artefact aura of mutability WW 9’’ of the bearer

1.) The condition on Fortune and Fate is casting a spell, once the condition is met, you can't do it again.  But, you can fail your first cast, succeed with your second cast from Balewind and then trigger Fortune and Fate.

2.) No, the dice change is not a modifier.  Modifiers are things like +1 to cast or -1 to cast.  So yes, if you spend a 2 and a 4 DD for a Lord of Change, the result will be 8 and cannot be modified.

The rule of the destiny dice is « count as unmodified rolls and cannot be rerolled or modified further » the modified further clearly means that even if you use a 2 and a 4 you’ll get a casting roll of 6 even with le lord of change

I like it! Although if you dropped the ghoul king from one of your terrorgheists you could run it as battleline in gristelgore and only need two little ghoul blocks, could free up some other interesting options...

Something in AOS learn me that every good army needs good meatshield and bubblewrap unit. 20 ghouls in not enough to bubblewrap our 3 big monster

  5. There’s mine:

    Grislegore grand court

    AGKTG

    general

    savage strike command trait

    ghurish mawshard artefact

    gruesome bites

    bloodfeast lore

    AGKTG

    spectral host lore

    AGKTG

    bloodfeast lore

    Archregents

    Spectral host lore

    3x10 ghouls

     cogs endless spell

    1800/2000 pts

    4 Extra CP

Try two game. Have enough cp to do my summon abilities and my feeding frenzy.

the grisle gore combo is really nasty.

if I had something I want to try is to get more buff on my spellcasting to counter heavy spellcasting army, like another artefact and a corpse cart

mounted heroes are still in. he ran essentially the LoB list minus a few things and got lucky with opponents as he would be disadvantaged against some armies. And horrible means its a poor effort/half arsed effort for a tome thats supposed to be concise and flexible and full of character.

edit: also he ran ghoul patrol which is not happening anymore

    Shame on you.

bill is one of the greatest player in US, Always top 10 in tournament.  In a 8 round tournament, it’s not because he’s lucky that he finish first.

So if you've been paying attention you literally know the whole book by now.

I've been fooling around with a Flayer list and came to the conclusion that I'd rather NOT use Blisterskin court. Once you decide to go for 3 Flayer units you want Deadwatch for the extra fight, which means you need a Crypt Infernal and so have Flayers as battleline anyway. While Blisterskin trait and artefact are okayish, generic ones are always better.

So here's what I came up with for 2k on the dot:

    Royal Feast Delusion

GKOZD (summons Varghulf), Grim Garland, Horribly Resilient

    Archregent (summons Varghulf)

    Archregent (usually summons 20 Ghouls)

Crypt Infernal Courtier (general, Dark Acolyte, Medal of Madness)

    9 Flayers

    3 Flayers

    3 Flayers

    Deadwatch

    Chalice of Ushroan

    Aethervoid Pendulum

The idea is to add D3+1 attacks (Archregent and Infernal via Dark Acolyte) and then fight 3 times a turn with the big Flayer unit (from battalion and a free use of a command ability from Medal of Madness) and 2 times with the GKOZD (with a free use from Royal Feast) without spending any CP while also returning massive amounts of models, healing all the wounds and spamming 15 banshee howls a round at straight up 2d6 thanks to Grim Garland.

I arrive at the same conclusion than you:

somme grand court are really nice but the artefact you got from them aren’t so useful

    really like your list

personally I’ll use the artefact that make -2 bravery on unit within 6’’ and the suffoc gravetide (-1 bravery too). Make the scream of the flayer even better again :)

I had better than average luck with the Plaguedrones at Midwest Meltdown. I still find getting a decent amount of members of a 6 demon unit into combat difficult. I've been thinking about running a sort of MSU build with them. I have enough to do 4x 6 Plaguedrones which could be cool. I've been in good shape to have extra CPs in most games, so giving two or more units Grandfather's Joy is feasible when needed. It kind of insulates them from getting wiped out by a good charge by enemy units too. The most I should lose is 3.

Has anyone tried a build with multiple 3 packs of Drones? What were your experiences like?

There is the list I'm playing right now:

    -guo/grandfather blessing/whiterstave/favoring poxes

    -festus/blades of putrefaction

    -chaos sorcerer lord/plague squall

    -3x10 plaguebearer

    -2x6 drone

    -geminids

    -spellportal

    100 pts/2 cp leftover

depending of the situation, It's a nasty list
