I don't own the models and don't see me buying them so won't be an issue anyway.

Ended up doing further amendments to my list, and it's now this:
Anointed of Asuryan on Frostheart Phoenix (320)
    Freeguild General on Griffon (320)
    - Runesword
    Battlemage (90)
    Knight-Azyros (100)
    6 x Demigryph Knights (360)
    - Lance and Sword
    3 x Demigryph Knights (180)
    - Lance and Sword
    3 x Demigryph Knights (180)
    - Lance and Sword
    10 x Shadow Warriors (110)
    10 x Shadow Warriors (110)
    5 x Tree-Revenants (80)
    Hammerhalian Lancers (140)

Can swap the Tree- Revenants to up the battlemage to a Knight Incantor for the survivability and auto dispel + a Balewind Vortex (which I don't see being used very often, but can't see the 40 points being used better elsewhere). Also lowers the drop count to 6.

With Incantor, I would be really tempted to also include Everblaze comet and maybe try Dais Arcanum instead of Balewind

Don't have the scourgerunners available. But I did what you suggested with the Shadow Warriors and it worked wonders. Got the win today ❤️

Nice. I am glad they worked for you.  Never mind about the chariots as it may be better to not get used to them. I am expecting them to get pretty substantial bump in points in next GHB

What do you guys think of the following Hammerhalian Lancers list. Anything better at shooting than the 20 SotW?

    Allegiance: Cities of Sigmar
    - City: Hammerhal
Anointed of Asuryan on Frostheart Phoenix (320)
    Freeguild General on Griffon (320)
    - General
    - Lance
    Battlemage (90)
    Knight-Azyros (100)
    3 x Demigryph Knights (180)
    - Lance and Sword
    3 x Demigryph Knights (180)
    - Lance and Sword
    3 x Demigryph Knights (180)
    - Lance and Sword
    20 x Sisters of the Watch (320)
    5 x Tree-Revenants (80)
    - Allies
    5 x Tree-Revenants (80)
    - Allies
    Hammerhalian Lancers (140)

    Total: 1990 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 160 / 400
    Wounds: 101

Maybe shadow warriors can combine what you need from revenants and sisters in one unit and help you lower drop count? Also scourgerunners are always a good option in cities.

  4. I would like to run something similar bur keep it mostly aelven. Also would like to avoid bulding and painting Hurricanum so I wonder If running double Dreadlord is viable? I would probably go with prince, two dreadlords and 2x20 sisters as a core in the reserves. However I have a hard time filling the rest of the army to be deployed at start. If I go sorceress+dakrshards and double Sister of the thorn I have 190 points left in CP hungry army without an Anvil unit and lacking some endless spell support. For those points I can get Eternal guard and Geminids, but I am really not sure about it because I feel like I would like to trigger both Dreadlord CA and prince CA.

  5. I am wondering which City to pick for a wanderer / phoenix temple army. I would like it to be at least semi-competitive. Something like:

    Allegiance: Cities of Sigmar
     - City: Living City
    LEADERS
Anointed of Asuryan on Frostheart Phoenix (320)
    Nomad Prince (120)
    - General
    Sorceress (90)
    - City Role : General's Adjutant (Must be 6 wounds or less)
    Sorceress (90)
    UNITS
    20 x Sisters of the Watch (320)
    20 x Sisters of the Watch (320)
    5 x Wild Riders (130)
    5 x Wild Riders (130)
    30 x Phoenix Guard (420)
ENDLESS SPELLS / TERRAIN / COMMAND POINTS
    Emerald Lifeswarm (50)

I wonder If its actually a Living city or Tempest eye list. I am also not sold on the wild riders. Any suggestions welcome

With staggered lines, your second line would be attacking anyway, it's the third that needs reach. Technically, you don't even need staggered lines because the bases are 25mm and an inch is bigger, but staggered lines make it clearer.

Models that are there but can't reach the enemy don't care what the statline is, they don't do anything.

For me, it's sword shield if all they need to do is tarpit, and halberd if my killing power is lacking. I have one unit of both at the moment, I don't think the spears are worth it, to be honest, even with the vs charge bonus. Now if the damage characteristic were improved vs charge, that would be different.

Yes, The spears dont really look tempting. I mean, why bonus to hit for a unit which already has access to it from different sources. It could have been rend when being charged. It even makes sense...

@Trayanee I've got 50 painted halberds guards so I won't be touching that unit and anyway I think it's a very good one on the offense.
If you want something more tanky, I'd look towards dwarfs units or Phoenix Guards, although they're more expensive.

Thanks. I would like my army to stay human-only with maybe some SCE conversions, so I will probably go with 40 halberds and later maybe a smaller unit with shields.

  8. How are you guys equipping your freeguild guards? I suppose their advantage lies in numbers so I will probably be taking 40 of them.  With halbers they can do some serious damage , spears offer mostly range but I am not sure those extra attacks from second line are worth -1 to wound and no rend. With swords they finally start to look like a guard but seem to me mostly harmless (intended) to anything with a good save.

  9. So based on known information, what is the way to go for mostly human non-gunline army? I would love something like multiple demigryph units, freeguild guards and a lot of magic support. Some self-sufficient shooting is possible but mostly for sniping, not carpet bombing.  Is Hammerhal the way to go?

It's just the number of warscrolls it needs to be balanced for. But you do have a point that balancing could also be done by losing the stormhost abilities and their own allegiance abilities.

Since the start of AOS its clear that Stormcast are quintessential for the whole order existence in mortal realms. It would be against the base lore to exclude them from what is as close to GA: order battletome as possible,

But this high-poly models are not in game's files, they are part of the creative process (they extract some maps directly from them and are the blueprint to make the real mesh for the model).

If you want to have some type of texture printed, the best thing that you can do is just download some alphas and start sculpting.

I know. I actually wrote that in my post, that they are not available...

Keep in mind that 3D models in games generally miss any texture from the meshes as that's done with bump maps, tesselation and just well... digital textures. It means that in order to make it into a printable model that looks like the one in the game, you'd probably have to do a lot of work.

Also, TWW poly count is probably quite low for a high-quality 3D printed model.

    YMMV.

Well, you are right in general...but, its not uncommon that those low poly models are often created from hi poly which was the case in TWW as you can see for example here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/b4NNm or her https://www.artstation.com/artwork/WqzZX and feel free to search artstation for TWW/2 assets. Basically any model in the game was created in quality that should be enough to directly print it as master for a miniature. Of course those hi-poly models are not avaiable....that would make GW kaboom and my photon printer too because it would run 24/7 😄

Right, but their profiles got removed again by GHB 2019 errata (except Master with Battle Standard).

Thanks for a heads up. Well, that is sad. I don't see a reason for it. I mean, getting to Legends is a form of punishment now because as long as GW is lazy to move any old faction to Legends, it can be played in matched...that logic sounds by far too twisted to me. Almost Tzeenchian I would say...

Is this really worth? I don't know exactly your models, but 3D printed minis are usually really bad looking, unless you pay for a print maybe more then for GW models. Maybe it's ok as a proxed model before you buy the original one, but having "fully 3D printed" army is quite strange and seems kind of like stealing to me.  I would not mind playing against it as "testing army" but I would be sad if someone would be using this repeatably.. Is this really what you want?

I kind of expected it so...No, I dont consider it stealing, nor do I find it bad in any possible way. I still buy battletomes, GHB and other stuff like paints. I dont play in a GW store so there is really no harm done to anyone, the 3D models I use are not copies like recasts, they are unique models made by patreon creators, KS etc. and I like the idea of supporting these ppl.

Its not a matter of money for me. Its a matter of uniqueness and also hobby approach as I feel a lot more comfortable converting via Meshmixer/Blender than with knife and glue.

About the quality...I dont want to go OT too much, but SLA printer can match anything GW produces If 3D model is good enough.

  15. Hello fellow perverts (I really hope this doesnt offend anyone :). Should a mod feel the need, just redact it.). I would like to start a Slaanesh army with these models available KoS, Shalaxi, Viceleader, Daemonettes, Seekers and thats it.

The reason for such limitation is that I would like to go fully 3D printed and I dont have suitable models for the rest of stuff. I may be able to meshmix an Enraptures from other models but certainly no chariots, no epitome. I will also buy a fane because there is not a printable alternative period. So my question is, what can I build with these? I thought about Revellers with two full units of daemonettes, KoS, Shalaxi and some filler units and heroes,  but it looks like hero heavy with Sybarites is a better approach. What do you guys think?

  16. The Taur'ruk is crazy good with that artifact and trait. I had a 1k game, where he killed almost 500 points alone tanking most of it the whole time. The Shar'tor was sadly underperforming. He is of course even better at killing than his smaller friend, but he dies too quickly and costs too much especially now when we have access to meaningful spells to cast with Draz, who is only 100 points more.

Btw, does anyone consider it possible for GW to let us cast that flaming bull? I, unfortunately, doubt it. Considering a long time GW policy of officially ignoring LoA existence, the only way I see is GW saying it's for Beasts of Chaos only and FW updating their rules and saying we can use it too.

I don't disagree with anything you said, but on the upside I think the core rules for unit choices are (in general) good, so a few points tweaks will go a long way. I still don't get why Paladins don't have a 3+, the design concept of Sequitors is bizarre and the Evocators' mortal wound ability is stupid (it is fine on the mounted ones imo).

There are a few hero choices that should just be discarded. Lord Veritants are one of them.

The ability should have been scaled up on the mounted ones to three dices per model to reflect the cost.
