  1. Raising points also means that a player will have now 'wasted' money on models that no longer fit in to the army.

GWs current model only really allows for points changes. I wouldn't mind an entirely seperate book every year that changes points and profiles as needed, but I understand that that would irk some people as well.

I can't express how excited I am for this release, especially since finding out these will be multipart kits. Holy moly!

Did they state that the non Chaos factions would get new models?

I was looking at the artwork and you can see another warband fighting the iron golems. Looking at their aesthetic, they remind me an awfully lot like the new Hedonite Prince, such as the circlets, perhaps these will be the mortal followers of Slaanesh and we'll see them tie in with the Hedonite releases. I really hope Slaanesh will get mortal dudes. I'm in love with the Xerxes...I mean Daemon Prince model 😍😍

If im thinking of the same piece of art then they are probably the warband related to the icon of the flayed face stretched across the circle.

I'm not expecting new models for the non-chaos factions, calling that 'lazy'is absurd.

There are some people interpreting the previews as saying you only get a certain amount per turn or something but this is false.

So when that preview was talking about having more tithe to spend after your opponent had a double turn it literally meant that more of your units will have died so you'll have more tithe. Ha.

  4. Exalted Deathbringers become mobile battleshock protection bubbles...but make the skullgrinders battleshock ability even more pointless.

I dont know. I'm sure it will be fine, just seems like the interesting but not crazy powerful stuff was removed.

  5. I can see Skullreapers going to a single weapon profile unfortunately. Yes they have two handed weapons in the box but that doesn't mean much.

I think it's pretty incredible that that unit might not have a single weapon with rend though...

Sadly I was hoping we would see MORE units that improved with battle, not just the usual 'you get to attack first or twice or run and charge'. I would have been happy with our current speed but getting deadlier when we get there.

I dont want over powered but I do want them to be interesting...

  6. Yeah, not excited by most of this, but it's early days.

Skullreapers being 'simplified' almost certainly means worse, so hopefully they are at least cheaper.

Having Blood Tithe still be our summoning mechanic is disappointing, but we don't have the whole picture yet.

I wasn't really wanting BoK to be the army that constantly prays for 6s to do anything, but hey.

I wouldn’t say Gore Pilgrims is necessarily done.  True, other battalions/no battalions at all will now be explored more, since you can get the re-rolls from the altar, but don’t forget gore pilgrims also includes the Widening the Rift ability, increasing the bloodsecrator aura by 6” for each priest nearby. Now put those on top of an altar and you have your 2+ and 4+ save secrator and priests within a possibly anti magic overlapping aura(secrator anti magic and altar). Yes 1 of the re-rolls for the prayers might be useless now, but don’t underestimate +18” to the secrator aura. On top of that, Gore pilgrims still allows you to be anywhere on the board, opposed to just on the altar.

Dont get me wrong, I think Gore Pilgrims will still exist in some capacity, it's just good to see they are addressing that it's too important right now.

  8. Really looking forward to this release. Trying to keep my rules expectations low.
It looks like Slaughterpriests will be even more important than they are now. The Altar, assuming it's 'free' is a bit of a fix for priests, and suggests that Pilgrims is done, which is a good thing. Assuming the Altar is static...then hopefully that means a change for the Bloodsecrator otherwise were looking at two key pieces that can't move (much).

No word yet when the new release may happen?  Been looking online, but likely too soon.  Hoping I missed something.

The next 40k box is apparently released or pre-ordered mid march, we might slot in before that as a one week release? I would assume April or later though.

  10. They've shown that they think raising prices of 'popular' units will make people use other units. That's definitely not the case, especially when armies are only consistently functional with those units.

Obviously they aren't asking for feedback on fixing BoKs issues in general so the scope here is limited.

Gore Pilgrims is so absurdly necessary that I don't think a points adjustment can really fix things. If Slaughterpriests were just more reliable, or had a different way to get more reliable then it wouldn't be so important.

(disclaimer: you can absolutely have fun without Gore Pilgrims, especially if you're playing other marginal armies.)

    just... how?

Daemonblades, Killing Frenzy, and then as many +attack buffs as you can fit in the list.

They benefit from any of our other buffs as well, but obviously +hit most of all.

There will absolutely be times they bounce off things, but generally they're reliable murder factories.

  12. I'm on the same page. LoN and Nighthaunt showed us that GW don't see the soup books as a graveyard, and I think a lot of Undead players are still really enjoying the LoN book.

I think having a big 'play with the units you like' book for Destruction would be great for the factions popularity.

They describe them as being 'silk-clad', and the normal daemonettes tend to wear leather. The character also seemed to know what she's doing as she made a concoction to lure the Seekers specifically (so she'd likely know that daemons existed), so I doubt she'd mistake the claws as fake. In a fantasy world, it's probably sensible to take things at face value - if a monster looks real, it's safer to assume it is real.

Got to side with her not knowing what she's looking at. The 'seemed' is the biggest giveaway.

I think it's a bored princess that found a mysterious scroll entitled "perform this one cool trick for awesome party time!"

Speaking of Blood Warriors, would they be more attractive if it was a special weapon per 5 models and the champion can also have his own (separate from the limit)? Not as crazy as sequitors having so many but at least you could pack 3 of them in a 10 man squad.

Yup, that would give them some bite and frankly make them a little more interesting. I think GW were needlessly nervous about the awesome power of 1 in 5 Bloodwarriors swinging a decent weapon when they die.
